  • @iflyfoam i have an allis chalmers 410 that i plow snow with, im considering building a weight box for the back, would you reccomend it, we live in the hills so theres alot of places to slide into, my dad said he wouldnt reccomend it because he took a 55gal. drum full of cement(1600lbs) and put it in the back of his 78' F250 plow truck and slid off the road and he pulled out the truck with a backhoe(the 410 has ags on it) what would your take be on a weight box

  • @powerstrokediesel100 Weight box, Good! I add weight to just about any tractor in this order. Fill the tires first. I used washer fluid in this cub, but had the most recent set, on a sears, filled with Rim Guard. (google it, it's good stuff). Then wheel weights. Then any thing you want hanging off of the back. Weight box, suitcase weights, or I have a 3pt tiller I use if I really need it. A 55 gal drum would probably be too much though. =) I have about 500 ish pounds on my sears and its plenty.

  • @iflyfoam alright thanks, we were planning on doing something like that!

  • nice machine, its a keeper

  • would you say the chains help you with the snow

  • @thecarguy9195 I didn't have chains on here. just AG tires filled with washer fluid. It's been my experience that weight helps more than chains, untill we get ice, then chains are necessary. I do use chains now.

  • @iflyfoam well i have some chains. they work pretty well but thanks for the advice. check my vids out sometime i have a cub 149. i have some plow vids 2. k have a great day

  • plowing pretty good there; I am impressed

  • You got rid of a Cub Cadet 149 for a Sears Suburban 10? Ut oh, let us know how that works out! Lol! Nice vid by the way. 5 stars.

  • lol, i usually dont care for cubs, but that is a nice one!!!

  • fine machine you got there!

  • Thanks. It belongs to someone near lake Erie now though. I will miss it. This year I will be using a 1967 Sears Suburban 10. Let it snow, let it snow, Let it snow!!!

  • you got a keeper wife if she will stand out in the cold to tape you plowing

  • Oh, she's definitely a keeper : ) She didn't stand out there all that long though, and didn't come out till I was almost done ;-)

  • Nice video. I have an old Cub Cadet 1000, 10 horse. It's a beast...more power than a new Briggs 20hp, I'd bet.

  • that's the power of the Kohler engines.

  • Looks like a lot of fun? is it just for snow.

  • Not just for snow. I used it to put most of the gravel I shoved off into the yard back into the drive this spring ;) I don't use it for dirt work. Not enough down pressure, or weight.

  • could get a mower for it. the old machines kick ass. cant beat the performance of a kohler k series. i have a 71 jd 112 with a k241. great engine. i also bought a spare engine for 150 bucks, a k301 with only 1 year of use. couldnt pass it up. the old tractors are tractors and not ridding lawnmowers. my mother said my tractor sounds like an old farm tractor, lol. i told her thats they way its supposed to be

  • i got a k241 on my cub 106 and cub 107!

  • I do have a 42" mower deck for this machine. I use it year 'round... I agree, old iron rocks !!!

  • Nice man! that thing PLows Great!, i just recently got a Cub Cadet 106, and i dont have a plow for it, but i am going to make it into a puller, mostly all stock, put ag tires on it, a stack, and porbably about it, but yes NICE VIDEO!
