I honestly think that Quintin Crisp must be one of the funniest men that ever lived. He is a gay P.G Wodehouse, and in his conversation and books shows the flip side of that sort of very Wodehousian insular, yet throughly complete, world. Its a shame he died just as I was becoming aware of his existence when a teenager, because his phone number was listed and he would always answer apparently if he was available. It would definitely have been worth having a conversation with him.
