  • The reason why I'm curious about the "splitters" is that someone once reported a strange glitch in Roy's battle. I just thought it would make more sense if they had accidently got something from the "splitter" in FI3 right before it and didn't know what was happening. May have just been a fluke, but those are even rarer.

  • you should try this in all levels to see several effects of this glitch

  • Sorry; it works, but on a real SNES there's a high possibility that the game collapses. It's difficult. I'm going to upload it to my channel with your credits, thanks a lot =)

  • Hi; i tried this in a PAL SNES with the original game, and doesn't works. The game freezes, the screen changes to black (except the sprites) and the music continues playing. It seems to be only works on a emulator, not on the original system. Greetings.

  • @peasoroms:

You get different effects depending on what "powerup status" you are on. If you're small when Yoshi swallows the chuck, the game crashes like you said. However, if you are fire Mario when you swallow the chuck, you will get a goal sphere in your reserve item box. If it still gives you a game crash, then it is possible that the PAL version does have different effects. Also, careful doing this on a real console, as the game crashes can delete your save file.

  • @peasoroms:

Also, I doubt it would permanently damage your game/console; I think the worst that will happen is that it could delete your save file, but I don't know for sure, so I'm just saying be careful.

  • @nathanisbored02 Yeah thanks, i know the danger with the SRAM (i "hunt" bugs & glitches too in my channel). Emulator is safer than the original system of course.

    Thanks for the superglitch!

  • Can't wait for a fairly complete list of combination to be posted! 4 basic states times 8 kinds of Chuck. That's 32 combinations. This could take a while to digest. Makes you wonder if some combo gives you a PI state or a boss in reserve? Maybe a "splitter" like at VD2 or FI3 could be used?

  • @GlitchReaper:

Splitters don't seem to give you anything, and most of the rest are game crashes. Probably the only of interest are the two shown in this video unfortunately. It would've been nice to get a Yoshi in reserve this way as well, so you wouldn't have to do PI 38 times. Oh well.

  • sprite berry gfx? what uses it?

  • @jimboli12345:

    Huh?

  • It explains how Kaizoman666 did this glitch in Tubular (about 1 year ago). But he said it would take much time to complete the process...

  • @RodrigoAmaral666:

I figured this might have been done before, since it's just a simple item swap, and item swap's been known for ages. I imagine it would take a more complicated setup in Tubular.

  • @nathanisbored02

    I mean this one:

    watch?v=YLjscDrtGkU

BTW, I enjoy the glitches you discover!

  • @RodrigoAmaral666:

Oh yes, now I remember that. Although I'm fairly certain he used Powerup Incrementing that time, which explains why he thought the setup would take too long (you'd have to do PI over 100 times).

  • What would happen if you were to release and use a goal orb in Bowser's castle?

  • @AllBogs:

You would just beat the level without activating the credits. The total exits on the title screen won't go beyond 96 though.

  • Uh. Wow! That's all I can say.

  • Nathan, I love you! <3

  • @TheFinalBoss726:

I love me too. Now go find a way to swap the keyhole in Donut Plains 2 to get the secret exit faster.

  • soooo what is the process?

  • @TheRealDJLO:

In short, what you see in the video.

  • Oh wait, what happened in the Top Secret Area? I mean, just after you get the feather and exit the level (01:27). Look at the left side of the screen.

  • Looks like SMW is the game with the weirdest glitches in all SNES games. Well, glitchfests will be entertaining. :P

  • This glitch got me thinking. You can now spawn a goal post from the reserve. Can you make Yoshi walk into a keyhole with a key a key in his mouth, after the goal post is consumed? (Compare this to the glitch where you wait for a time up and die and fall over a keyhole whie Yoshi has a key in his mouth.)

  • @GGTrashes:

Yes, but only the secret exit would count. You could get a goal sphere in reserve previously by doing powerup incrementing, but you had to do it over 100 times which made it basically pointless. Now you can do it in the very first level after you get Yoshi ^.^

  • Just when you're leaving TSA, there's this little cloud of dust on the left of the screen...

  • awesome!!!

  • Wait how what uhm Key with wings? :O that would be a nice custom sprite :D

  • @Jolpengammler:

It's an unused state of the key sprite that was never finished. It hurts you when you touch it, and you can spin bounce off of it.

  • I not knew this glitches , very good (:

  • The flying key was... unexpected.

  • ...whut.

  • I think SMW is now completely broken. Block cloning for Yoshi wings and general item swap weren't enough. (Then again, there will probably be another glitch discovered sometime that makes it even more broken-- I don't think anyone's found a way to warp around the overworld yet, right?)

By the way, does anyone mind testing this glitch with this patch applied?

    media.smwcentral. net/Zeldara/test19-2.ips

  • @Zeldara109:

I don't know if you still wanted someone to test that, but I did and it seemed like it just made it so that you get a 1-UP when you swallow him and nothing in reserve for most statuses (I think Chargin' Chuck while small gives you nothing at all). I didn't test Whistli' Chuck though. I never got any game crashes.

  • @nathanisbored02

That was intended. (I'm planning to include all sorts of "Easter eggs" in SMW hacks I create for people who try to break the levels. I know I can't fix everything (nor will I try-- the block cloning fix patch will not be applied), but some glitches might not work as expected...)

  • @Zeldara109 You think so?

I dont think TASers think the game is broken enough,

    Me neither :P

  • @DiamondPhoenix000

It was a joke. If there's ever a time TASers think the game is broken enough, I'd probably wonder what's happened to their motivation.

  • do you think it's possible to do the goal sphere on bowser's castle and go to credits?

  • @dnnzao Assuming adding a goal sphere to Bowser's Castle with Lunar Magic doesn't change anything relevant, no, it won't go to the credits. (However, it will activate event 45 (for the Front Door) or 42 (for the Back Door) (neither of which can be activated normally), increasing your exit count by 1.)

  • Oh nooooo, you can do it from the first stage! Oh god, no.

  • @ExitJMouse:

And you can activate the midpoint to quickly do it multiple times, so it might be useful for at least a couple castles.

  • I really hope to see these in the glitchfest that Baha and finalboss are doing. Awesome demo!

  • @TheItsumaru:

If not, the goal sphere one will likely be used in the 100% TAS that ISM is doing. That is, if he hasn't lost all motivation from having to restart seven times.

  • @TheItsumaru They discontinued the Glitchfest months ago.

  • @OptimisedGaming Oh dang that's a bummer. :(
