I've just discovered Lana's music and to be honest, the first time i heard her song "born to die" I thought 'meh, well that was kind of boring... but she does have an interesting voice'. The next day it was stuck in my head and I had to listen to it again... and again. Then the urge took over me to look into this artist a little bit more, and I'm currently in the process of falling in love with the uniqueness of her voice and her amazing style. I like both sides, and I know what you mean - much more feeling and less poppy than Born To Die. Who knows, if she re-releases her previous album and it sells, I'm sure she wouldn't turn her back on that style. I think we've all got to bear in mind that she made that album and who knew about Lizzy Grant until Lana Del Rey showed up? She certainly didn't capture the public with that style.

After listening to all her 'leaked' and older songs on youtube I really set myself up for disappointment. The new album seems vapid and doesn't show off her voice well at all. It's like a completely different person. It's not that this song is a masterpiece, nor most of the other songs on youtube, but they are fun and they seem to be more genuine than anything on Born to Die. This is the Lana I was looking forward to, not some wannabe trip hop thug barbie.
