I think that the flute from Skull Kid is a reference to Majora's Mask 3d! Nintendo is putting an easter egg in the video, telling us "Majora's Mask is different than the other games in this video"! That's because it's going to get a remake!

As for the ending, I'm guessing her hair and dress changes because it's more 'princess' or 'servant of the gods' attire. She looks so sad; I can tell that this will not have the happiest of endings.

Mario is the pioneer of ALL platform games, Star Fox is the pioneer of polygonal (3D) gaming, Metroid has route finding elements and stuff, and The (first) Legend of Zelda was the first EVER game to have game saves. I personally think that ALL Nintendo games resemble those classic animated stuff we knew and loved ^^
