Monsanto's GM Alfalfa got approved to be planted as soon as this spring 2011 when it is really unnecessary, 95% of Alfalfa doesn't NEED herbicide . What they are trying to do is contaminate organic food and force us to eat GMO's whether we like or not! Currently GMO's are not labeled but need to be, we have to fight for truth in labeling Calling all anti-Monsanto supporters on March 26 2011 we are organizing an anti-GMO Rally all over the US to JOIN look for Organic Consumers Assoc. on FACEBOOK
I'm consuming veggies only , and I'm going to star producing my own food, I'm buying my own chicken's and two or three cow's too , even for my dogs i'm making their food, I don't trust this companies at all, I have been shoping at Whole Foods Market, since they opened and I support those type of super markets. even they cost more. we need more of those super markets.
Ehh... I mean I support the idea and all of all-natural food and I'm definitely afraid of all the health risk associated with mass produced and badly engineered food, but this documentary consisted mostly of interviews and lacked hard documented evidence apart from a few disgruntled farmers.
The whole part about that family not knowing nutrition and buying McDonald's because it's cheaper IS BULLSHIT. Clearly, just a lazy family. Being poor and hispanic had nothing to do with it.

I'm 3rd generation Hispanic-American, and the whole part about us not knowing nutrition and buying McDonald's because it's cheaper IS BULLSHIT and subtle racism at it's finest. That family was a disgrace.
90% of people know what they are eating and they know its bad for them but they are lazy and dont give a fuck. Good healthy food not only costs more but it takes time to prepare and most Americans are too lazy fat pigs to do it so they just go to the drive thru
cloned foods and GMO's werent talked about nearly enough though that shit is scary and fucking inhuman and we can't stand for it we need to get the word out and get mad about that shit before it ruins our fucking planet and our DNA
Thank heaven for these movie makers. Just like "Super Size Me", this documentary has the potential to change minds and open eyes to the truth. I love the comment "I think that mothers having to feed their children will really make the difference". So true! RISE UP MOTHERS! We must demand healthy foods for our children and generations to come. If nothing else, the next time we walk into a supermarket, there are certain foods we can refuse to purchase and put in our mouths. Money talks.
I grow up in Jamaica and I have lived in a few countrys' and I have never eaten food tasty as in Jamaica; Why ? because we grow it the right way and it is more nutirious and healthy for our bodies, but Globalization is the main contributing factors for a lot of what is happening in todays world, countrys' that use to grow and produce great foods are not able anymore because of how they disable them from doing so anymore
I have Taste food like in jamaica. countries with tropical weather grow better. I agree on that part. but in europe the food is very clean too and is good.
I grew up in rural Ontario, Canada. I was raised on food grown in a large garden. I recall vine ripened tomatoes, picked under a noon day sun, hot to the touch, thin skinned, juicy, ripe and so very tangy and acidic. It seems that food production has suffered the same malaise that the banking sector has, profit above all else, quality be damned.
The problems started with the stupid sugar taxes. Sugar is very expensive in the united states because of sugar taxes, thus most corporations searched and found cheaper ways to sweeten food. (artificial sweeteners and using high fructose corn syrup) We need to just abolish fast food and any food without nutrition.

If subsidies and government intervention have caused the problem, wouldn't removing subsidies level the playing field?

It's not just our food. It's our water and air also that's polluted.

Yes it would be nice to bring the prices down for health food.
Let's not forget about how much money pharmaceutical companies make every year!!!
Do you think they would want to have more healthy people who eat real food? I doubt that.
