  • Wonderful video, Thanks for your good work! Fascinating to see how different the lyrics are in Swedish, yet convey the same message. I would have expected a more literal translation, but this is great.

  • I don't understand a word of it, but in my personal (Dutch) opinion Swedish - next to French - must be the most beautiful language in the world! It's music on itself.

  • This is simply beautiful! It is now my favorite version of this song! Agnetha's vocal range is truly amazing! I also love the foto montage which you created. Thankyou so much!

  • what a gorgeous voice and person, god ive loved you for years xxxxxxxxx

  • Such a lovely song!

    Agy's voice is sooooooo sweet!

  • NIce slide show , the sepia color give it a specail athmosphere

  • I remember adding the colour to give the over used photos , something different

thanks for all your fine comments Isabelle!

  • Thanks for this other great interpretation of Agnetha of this cute song, and very good the montage of the slide,Shay !

    Thanks for post !

  • Thanks Claudio, as I said above this was the song that introduced me to Agnetha in her native tongue!

  • Another good one, Shay! Both Agnetha and Frida did a great job on this much-covered classic from JCS.

  • It is interesting to compare the two arrangements Sharon, Bjorn and Benny producing them seperately

  • Seem to have missed this first time round Shay-nice upload!

  • Thanks Bill, this was the one that got me hooked on her Swedish songs and had me reaching back for more

  • JESUS CHRIST! Agnetha is a GODDESS!

  • She sure is, one in a million! thanks

  • Very Well Done

    Thanks

  • Cheers

  • Thanks for bringing this video back, Shay! It´s one of my favorite songs of this sweet lady! I´m with some annoyances here which are shaking me quite emotionally (are not the exams, for time being.) I must not manage to release of that during near months... I hope that I´m able to recover a good mood, which, now, has not been possible. Thanks for the subtitles! Now I`m in wait of " nu ska du bli stilla ", another beautiful song of Agnetha in J.C. Superstar. Congratulations, again!

  • I wish you well with the exams and a peaceful summer

'nu ska..' may be a while yet because I have not done a translation for it yet and will be busy myself next week

  • her voice is really showing it at it's best here, it sounds great.

Love the cool colour you added to the vid Shay. beautiful pic at 1.47 and some new nice ones (to me) as well!!

  • I thought this year old video needed something Elin, so I used 'my colouring book' to liven it up a bit

  • Agnetha's version of this song I regard as the best version ever made. However, I preferred the original video; the reddish tint to the stills make it look like footage from the days of the silent movies that TCM airs. But, that's a minor point with me as I still enjoy the song and looking at the stills.

  • Another thing about Agnetha's version of this classic song is there's a pronounced sadness in her voice. Which there always was with the tune but the singers of the other versions (inc. Yvonne Elliman and Helen Reddy) didn't connect with the sadness in the same way that Agnetha did. The sadness in her voice is enough to make the angels weep.

  • I thought Agnethas version appealed mostly because it's in my native tongue but I must look for the versions you've mentioned and compare, I don't remember which one of them I heard before.

  • Yvonne was part of the cast that made the original album. She had a Top 30 hit in the US with the song while Helen's version was a Top 15 hit in the US as well. Both versions were hits in May 1971, so the two competing versions may have affected their showings in the Top 40 chart and possibly cancelled each other out in the process.

  • You are so right, she doesn't just sing a song , she lives it with her heart and soul!

I will put a link to the orignal mainly b/w version, watch in the information box on the right soon

  • Having the original again will be great. Thanks in advance. When it comes to the emotions expressed in a song by a singer, the one of sadness is the one I feel the most. Something within the singer connects to my heart and soul, and makes me wonder what they were going through when they did the song. Maybe nothing at all but still, maybe there was a sad moment they lived before, sadness they expressed in a song when the opportunity presented itself.

  • Great song,my favourite from Jesus Christ Superstar.Very nice video Shay!;)

  • Thanks Jackie, It is such a fine version of this song

  • Thanks for reposting this great one Shay! I really like the colouring you have done with this vid! You can take the same picture and it looks totally different when you get your air-brush to work! Great job my friend!

  • A fresh coat of paint Dallas to disguise some over used pics! hehe thanks

  • Great Shay, Untill I got involved here on you tube I never knew Aggy had done JC Super Star.

I think this was one of the best songs from it. Nice slide show too.

  • This was the first one of her Swedish tunes I heard Jim, here on YT too and I have not stopped listening since!

  • Great pictures here, and i luvvvvvv that song!!

rarely hear Agnetha sing in her native tongue.
