  • Very nice! I have just recieved a 3.5hp Briggs and Stratton Petrol engine and hydraulic transmission, which will be going into a Loco at some point. However if the hydraulics don't work ot, then I may go for a 24v alternator a friend has offered me, and this will power an electric motor simallar to the one here, but a 24v one.

How many amps does the generator put out at 12v?

  • Is that a lifan petrol engine?? 2.5 hp version similar to the honda 100 series??

  • Hi, What have you used for your direct drive? cheers

  • Very nice!

I have just got a 1940's 12V dynamo today to run with one of my stationary engines. How many amps does this put out, mines 30. I will hopefully film it tomorow.

  • how many amps does this sucker kick out? looks good and nice workshop :-)

  • No there are all sort of electrical things going on inside it alternator so it's none standard. The battery is for all the accessories the engine doesn't need it to work. It works as a 12v DC generator!

  • that is incrediable...is it wired right out of the alternator or does it go to a 12v battery first?

  • the set is £500-00

  • @maxitrak

why not just have centrifugal clutch powering generator to avoid electronics.

Also u could switch between series and parralel with more than one motor to vary speeds like the real things, maybe even field diverts?
