Just before sunset on the first day of the power outage there was the most awesome double rainbow over Walaka Street. Sure it was a gnarly storm, but it takes a storm of that intensity to make you realize that life is great and precious.

i was lucky i just moved from kihei an moved to haiku...it was flooded bad up here to all the upcountry road were closed my back yard was a flowing river luckly i live on a hill
Holy crap! I live on S. Kihei Rd. too, but down by Lipoa. It was bad there as well, but not as bad as this video! Or maybe cause I didn't leave my condo! wow.
We just got home from our stay at the Koa Lagoon and we were there for the storm(lucky us).We went up to Kula and say the damage up there too.Told my wifr next time I pick the Maui vacation dates!!
This is S. Kihei Road on Dec. 5 & 6th. The waters have now gone down and traffic has resumed on the street. This is the best video we've seen of what happened in Maui last week.
