After 5 yrs. of education, after returning to Panama, he has been unable to find a good paying job! Hopefully, with Americans bringing jobs to their country & building up their communities, he may be able to find a great job eventually! It is no different than all of the foreigners in the US. The US is in debt because we have dumped tons of money in foreign aid, but no one has complained about it, we continue to help many other countries to ensure they have food, medical care, etc.

I am proud to be an American (although my ethnicity is Jewish, Native American, Scottish, German, etc.) I have an excellent friend & family who live in Panama & was told they were thrilled that Americans were relocating to their country, as it was bringing money into their country that was much needed. This is why they are having homes, as well as businesses being built...thus bringing jobs to their people! In fact, my Panamanian friend came to the US & studied at a University here for 5 years!

Panama is nice if you have a couple hundred thousand dollars or more to invest there. But there are lots of places in the U.S. that are a nice place to retire and have very low property cost - especially now that the housing market is crashed in most of the country. This is the time to buy. I am planning to retire soon and have researched different areas. Just look for a place that has a low crime rate, nice environment, and no job growth. You can get a good deal.
