wow, all those steps leading up to the building would be exhausting, especially with groceries, moving furniture, etc (or on wet nights slipping on steps)...thanks very much for posting
My favourite tv show of all time. Absoloutley adore everything about this. The actors, the soundtrack, costumes, performances, writing... all of it. I have to watch this series at least once a year.
@1starryeyedkid It's the part that I love to watch over and over again. The musical arrangement with the build up of the strings so completely captures the magic and spirit of what's to come. If you've watched the whole series or read all the novels, you know that this scene, with its simple and sweet overview of Barbary Lane, is a wonderful preface of what's to come.
unfortunately, this entertaining series also seemed to mark the end of public television being worth watching... drugs, casual sex, homosexuality... the moral majority was in an uproar
I love the books..I had to read the 1st one for my america in the 1970s class and i loved it..went out and baught the whole series..im on babycakes now..and its sooo sad already..i loved jon

Armistead Maupin (author) said that he always hears Laura Linney's voice whenever he writes about Mary Ann now.
