  • 0:58 nice movement

  • They are AMAZING!!!

  • 1:10 Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Easy

  • @ 1:09 i was panicking. haha as a dancer i thought she was gonna break her toes jumping en pointe like that. haha

  • @shayleaddison8 Actually It Is Very Easy I Can Show It

  • ya it really hurt and was the one on the right. We had to practice 7 days a week!! I am so glad i was picked! ENJOY!!

  • the places music homework brings you :(

  • Jumping on pointé...I don't under stand how that could hurt? I have pointé shoes and have been on pointé for about 3 years but I took a break for 8 months due to my ankle. I do jumps on my pointé shoes and other girls as well. In our Nutcracker, theres a part in Sugar Plum Fairy where she has to do 32 ballonnés.

  • 1:10... ouch...

  • who ever says dance is not a sport needs to watch this then talk to me..lol

  • Beautiful dancing especially because their young, and btw it doesnt hurt to dance on pointe provided you do it right :) although after a few hours your feet start burning :/

  • did anyone else wince at 1:09 ?

  • @smugleafman No.... I have to do this part.... love this dance....

  • i always think there about to mess up

  • wow!!!

  • And I am en pointe, I am a waltz of a flower girl and a marzipan leader girl...I have a quickchange!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They are from Vaganova. Mariinsky has a tradition, it is that they always play this part using vaganova students. I am the lead of this dance and I am 11

  • HAHA i dance like the girl at 1:29 XD

  • Ballet is just so...graceful and beautiful to watch, especially with Tchaikskovy's music in it. I absolutely love it, makes me feel in that calm mood. :) Amazing ballet dancers, and amazing music.

  • i am loving the costumes, they are amazing. watching this makes me sad that I've quit ballet in 3rd grade ):

  • why dont guys wear point shoes ?!

  • @daphna11111

    Ever Seen Ballet Trockadero?

  • My god, makes me regret quitting dancing at age 5 sooo bad. This is gorgeous. However the pointe must hurt like hell. :/

  • These are the best child dancers I have ever seen. and im a child and i dance lol i'm 12

  • Why is it that the men don't go on their toes like the women do?

  • @BriarFilth

firstly for the same reason only women wear high heals. Its pretty to look at, and why should men bother being in pain to look pretty? They are not really supposed to -.-

secondly because the mens bodies are so heavy from muscle, whilst women are a bit lighter, making it better for them to stand on their toes.

  • Absolutely stunning! :D

  • OMG thats so daaaamn pretty *-*

    I love ballet !

    You gotta love Tchaikovsky !

  • I wish I had moved to Moscow at the age of 3,hehe. :]

  • what are mirlitons?

  • @Stagringleap A type of vegetable.

  • does anyone know how old they are? the girls are already dancing en pointe... wow.

  • @lepetitecygne They're probably 2nd or 3rd year students at the Vaganova Academy. Probably aroung age 12-13.

  • The three of them are Beautiful and talented, No wonder they are RUSSIANS.

  • So graceful...

    Magnificent.

I'm in awe of this beauty.

  • Magnifique !

  • What's a Mirliton?

  • I love ballet and The Nutcracker is my fave, when i think of The Nutcracker, its always this dance that comes to mind.... :)

  • *my family loves ballet and i love the music !*

  • I don't care who you are, this is AWESOME.

  • OH my lord... so slow...

  • @balletcomposer YOU'RE so slow... you need to get a new look!

  • Beautifly executed. Awesome customes.

  • Tchaikovsky is just one of my favourite composers. I love his "mystical" sound. Right now im working on an arrangement of "dance of the sugar plum fairy" for piano. Gonna play it myself and put it here on youtube. Hope you will like it.

  • I love this version, what company is this?

  • russian ballet does it best(: i wish i was more expierienced of a dancer to be in the nutcracker.... i just started pointe.

  • Exellent dance for kids in their age

  • My hip, legs, feet and toes hurt just by looking at this :P

  • They are children or adults?

  • @beruskajojo2 children

  • what would they do if one of them broke their ankle?

  • @red2138 They always have one person for each dancer from the "second" (worst) troop of dancers who knows their part.

  • @alonaefr oh yeah thats true.

  • We saw the nutcracker last year as a field trip for my Dental assisting class and other medical classes. It was pretty fun.

  • the girls, ok.

the guy, sucks (look at the feet!)

  • very pretty

  • this is musical art at it´s finest

  • A Great Lesson in White Anglo History, Talented they are...~!!!

  • Fantastic Orchestra~!!!

  • Sooooo slow...

  • This is utter brilliance!!!

  • you do not know how many bad comments there could be about dis video...HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was one of the chinese dancers when i was in high school

  • I have to dance it in a few hours!!!!!!! I'm soo excited!!!!

  • the best version ever ever ever!!! :D i love it so so much!! :DD sheer and utter perfection! :)

  • Look! Baby Ballerinas!! Soo beautiful! So adorable! Congratulations on such great talent and skill! :0)

  • I absolutely adore this. They look like little dolls on that stage. Hopping and landing on point must have been excruciating pain.

  • @epiplp6 i think the same.... it´s beautiful ^^

  • This is wonderful :D!

  • I'm in the Snow corps, in the Waltz of the Flowers, the Russian dance, and the Rat Queen (our Company's own little creation)

  • this is beautiful. simple as that.

  • Good lord this was so beautiful! Even more impressive was how perfectly they danced it at such a slow tempo! This makes me so happy that I stayed in ballet. This will be my tenth and final Nutcracker, it has been such a beautiful journey :)

  • @accentofllove what part are you???

  • This version is fab, such elegance!

  • i remember being in the nutcracker when i was younger. tucson ballet. so much fun! i don't do ballet anymore though.

  • uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkjiVulLuzXaqKfx7.epvUwgBgx.;_ylv=3?qid=20100927133322AAe23Br

  • 01:47 starts one of my favorite parts in the whole ballet.

  • It is also called : "Dance of the reed flutes".

  • Seeing this really makes me wonder why I quit Ballet.

  • Great version, I love the costumes and the set! I'm dancing the Nutcracker, I'm twelve years old and one of my parts is a mirliton!

  • pimp

  • awe this done so well its really pretty

  • i think i'm watching this for the 1000th time!! Totally lovin it!

  • Hopefully my orchestra does this whole production next year :D

    I'm a flute and piccolo! :D

    YAY :D

  • very mature.

  • how old are they ? Please answer!

  • @Ballerina2010dk .Good question; they are 10-11 years only , but must have been en pointe for at least a couple of years...not unusual in the Russian ballet system, but not recommended for the girls' feet... there 'll be damage done if you start before the age of 11/12 and you must have strong foot muscles before doing so. good luck.

  • o i did this i was the star!!!

  • omg, how old are those girls? They're already dancing en pointe, very well.

  • A Mirliton has many different meanings: A weird greenish member of the squash/cucumber family, a kazoo type instrument that makes a reedy sound, and some kind of puff pastry. I'm assuming since it's the land of sweets this dance of the Mirlitons is referring to the puff pastry! (makes sense with their hair doesn't it) :D

  • @Fullhouse1995 i think it's about the weird greenish member of the squash/cucumber family. that seems more likely :D

  • So young! o.O I danced ballet for a good decade when I was younger and I don't think I was this good at THAT age!

  • i must do the dance to!! it's soo dificult!!

    i love it!

    xxx

  • I bet you too slow peeps are americans - this was perfect

  • love the dance and the costumes x)

  • the girl that first start out on the left of the young boy has a good point

  • I know almost nothing about ballet, but the tempo did seem a bit slow in this version. I'm sure the dancers are quite talented, and the costumes were excellent, but I was annoyed by the tempo.

  • the music was painfully slow...i'm not as familiar with the dance, but our orchestra played it a lot faster than that.

    it was still fantastic though.

  • Comment removed

  • they dance it SO well for eleven year-olds

  • im dancing in the nutcracker today, Im a butterfly and a chinese dancer. i am 11.

  • wow im twelve and i am trying out for the nutcracker next year

  • @Tap1Snap1 cool

  • @Tap1Snap1 , good for you!! Good luck little girl!!

  • @Tap1Snap1

I remember when I was 7 I was in the Indy International version of the Nutcracker. I was a Paige, the one always closest to the king. It was so cool being in the show after going to watch it every year since I was a toddler.

  • @Tap1Snap1 and also too adorable for words! I hope everything went well!

  • @Tap1Snap1 I was the chinese soloist last year(: This year I'm Clara. I LOVE IT! Congrats by the way!

  • i loooooove this version! the costumes are beautiful and really show the fact that the marzipan/merliton dance is supposed to represent France!

  • @ebanks11 What do you mean by it's supposed to represent France?

  • @23maddiec the way i saw it was that with each candy that was in the kingdom they were each from a different country and the music/dancing told the kingdom of their country. (Russian candy from Russia danced with very old, traditional movements) here the clothing and style is that of old France (powder wigs, very graceful, and they dressed in the old style)

  • @ebanks11 this version is sooooooooooooooooooooooo nice!!! and it really represent France!! love this!!

  • i regret quiting ballet. im looking into rejoining because the nutcracker is my favorate and its my dream to dance it:) they did fabulous! fantastic!

  • wow they are amazing!

    but its sooo slow!

that would suck to do it that slow!

  • these kids are so adorable. they look at least like 14. i love it when the boy dances by himself. they are so cute... i wish i could dance like them

  • omg! flawless! my friend has to do this with a guy a year younger than her and he still beleives in cooties so he cant even support her!!! lol

  • when my studio did this this was called the dance of the flutes

  • we call it Dew Drops and it's danced by three ladies... :)

  • for us dew drop is the lead in waltz of the flowers....?

  • Sometimes the title for this piece varies from dance of the reed-flutes over flutes to shepherdesses and mirlitons.

  • sorry, forgot to mention that mirliton is the french word for reed flute.

  • I 've seen better . . . but good job! Very cute!

  • beautiful. been watching this nonstop now for 3 days.

    but what is a mirliton?

  • Uh... what is this dance? I've never seen it before. In our Nutcracker we have Marzipan and the lambs (which are part of Marzipan) dancing to this music.

  • Beautiful!

  • I love it, it let me think back why i dont still keep learning my ballet :-(

  • These kids are excellent!

  • this is one of my favorite parts :) lol.

  • love it!! the only edgie part is the last part when their attitudes weren't at the same time but, still, BEAUTIFUL!!

  • the dancers are talanted!!! i love this video

  • I LOVE this video it's sooooooo cute! I lOVE there hair!

  • I love the song!!!

  • What is the move called at 1:10 and what is the step she is doing called at 1:30

  • hops on pointe; emboites or grand jetes dessous

  • They are changement's [shahnzh-MAHN] en pointe. The other one is emboitee's [ahm- bwe- tay]

  • O Balé é lindo, dançado por crianças que possuem uma sincronia incrível. Parabéns mais uma vez o Balé Kirov. Sempre perfeito

  • Ballet is so amazing, im stunned

  • there all AMAZING

  • this is marzipan i was in this last year! now im tea queen this year :)

  • awsome! I am the sugar plum fairy this year.

  • AWW their so little!!

  • There should be a separate composition based on a slightly faster, louder, more powerful version of what begins on 1:43, I think!

  • REMARQUABLE!!!!! Encore, encore!!!!

  • It's true, but who cares; it's fucking ART.

  • oops. merlitons was just another name for the reed pipes. and here, I call myself a knowledgeable dancer. but I could have sworn that there was a different song for the merlitons.

  • No there most definitley isn't, I just preacticed the WHOLE fuckin score on the Piano, cause I assist as chorrepetiteur in a dancing school. There isn't another song. I think it's great that u can speak so selfless on your faults. That's awesome. :D

  • this is the music from the reed flutes not the merlitons.

  • They look very mature...I agree that it's frigging slow, but they did a good job nonetheless, even if there are some flaws. I didn't like all parts of the choreography though.

I'm really impressed by the jumps when the girls landed repeatedly en pointe. I find that totally difficult to do!!

  • Magnifique!

  • My sons *__*

  • I wonder who these children are and what became of them

  • I used to be a dancer. That move is VERY difficult to do consistently without great conditioning and practice.

  • i can't believe these are children!!!! at least 12 13 doing this. i can't even do this .

  • Why do they clap at 2:10? That move looks so easy

  • that move call "Royal"...is very difficult

  • actually it's an entrichatkatra (spelling?) the feet don't change. On a royal feet change

  • ok a) it's not a "move" its a jump. and b) they are beats and no they are NOT easy. the reason they look easy is because the boy does not preform them well (but then again he is young)

if you want to see what beats really look like, i suggest you look up the bluebird pas de deux from royal ballet, then come here and tell me they are easy.

  • this is my favorite.

  • Wow!

  • tchaikovsky didn't like how the nutcracker turned out lol

  • Nice

  • mince alors ! génial ! génial ! génial !!!!

  • it's obviously unnecessarily and painfully slow, but i thought the kids were quite good...the girls especially. their technique and presence is very mature and lovely to watch.
