I think a lot of it is because female MMA is still evolving and hasn't hit the mainstream yet.

Because of this, most female competitors aren't really from MMA lineage, but are crossing over from other sports such as Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling etc.

That's why when a Submission artist like Shayna gets someone to the ground, she's usually able to finish so easliy.

...Or at least that's my observation.
