Love the scene where Harold is about to shoot the jug of vodka! Wonder if Woody Allen knew this short. Some of the business reminded me of gags in Love and Death...
Just when I thought I've seen all there is the world has left of Lloyd, here's another gem offered that is not seen on DVD yet. Thanks so much....MORE!!!
I love the big, fat, gruff, russian guys with the fuzzy hats and beards. You were allowed to be stereotypical back then, it was before political correctness got in the way of humor.
I doubt whether the movie-makers distinguished between them... It's not too widely known nowadays that we sent troops to Russia to fight on the side of the "White Army" (Czarist supporters) against the "Red Army" (Bolsheviks). If they'd had Harold they might have won the day, but actually they came home quietly after a while.
I'm sure any of us with a trace of culture in our brains can see why Harold Lloyd became one of Jackie Chan's most influential figures, next to Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin.
Harold Lloyd's smile could melt all the snow in Siberia.

Excuse me for this irrelevant question, but was Lloyd ever drafted to WW1?

I don't have any good words for the sound track. It's ruining the movie.
