I'm also have a hard time with the magnetic lasso. The pic does not cut professionally no matter how hard I try to be precise. You can see all the hard edges and some of the background cuts with it:( Any tips?
what i usually do when there is some of the back ground still left or sharp corners, is to select a small soft edge brush tool or soft edge rubber and round off the corners and remove any remaning background. :P
@romanticqueen after selecting the image right click on the image and click feather....and give a value... about 5 will do.. it will smooth the edges.
if i am extracting an image from its background and i want to bring the extracted photoshop image into illustrator, what format do i have to save the photoshop extracted image as?
And also i want the photoshop extracted image to have a translucent background but the background is white when i bring it into illustrator....... what am i doing wrong????? HELPPPPPP!
there is an extraction tool if you go to FILTER, then to EXTRACT. draw around the out line of the shape with the green highlighter, then select the paint bucket, then fill in the area you wish to keep. then click the ok button. this way does extrct the object but sometimes it takes half of the object away with it.
when you have made your selection arround the object or person right click inside your selection and click NEW LAYER VIA COPY then open the ocean picture and drag the layer you created with the selection onto the ocean picure and there you have it ... for more details such as resizing excetera please watch my video called HOW TO MERGE 2 PICTURES INTO 1 USING PHOTOSHOP CS3 ;) hope this helps ;)
awesome videos! have been wondering how to change bkgrounds etc on photoshop and ive finally mastered these skills aft watching yr tutorials =) thanks!
i used the MAGNETIC LASSO tool available when you right click the wand tool and it will be there..
then click one corner and go round the image and it should go round the edge of the object...
if it goes somewhere you dont want it to for example it cuts a sharp corner just keep clicking round the corner every milimetre or so and it should go smoothly round the corner..
love ur vids keeping comeing...can u tell me how to add text, and also yo a vid on eye coloring, i know thers some out there but u make extrememly easy to understand!!!thanx
that damn magnetic lasso tool isnt always easy to use, it keeps going to stupid parts of the photo i dont want in it.. i'm gettin real pissed off with it.
i'll come back and watch this again when i stop feeling like i wanna smash something.
can i put any other pic on background ??

This has been flagged as spam show
lol, if it goes some where you dont want it to, keep clicking around the place you want it to go and where you click the lasso will stay there.
i hope this helps coz its not that easy to explain
