Despite what the arrogant boob giving this condescending interview has made up his mind about, The Small Faces were only a group for a few short weeks before catching lightening in as bottle and exploding all over England. It's really amazing that pricks like this reporter could ever have considered themselves professionals while treating their younger compemporaries so poorly. The last line delivered by the writer is the best one.
The old boy at the start is Stanley Unwin, there are some clips of him on youtube. You must listen to him when you are drunk, you can't stop laughing...J.
Q: "What about that track, differentiated it from any other track?" A: "Hmmm..well the name was different, you see, I don't think they had any other song by the same name" ! Wow, this guy can really spin a tale! LOL!!!
Let me see if I have this straight. The Small Faces were four guys from the East End of London. And they made recordings. Of music, in the Sixties. And they released the records. And this guy heard them. And listened to them.
they would possibly use VOX or SELLMER amps...I haven;t had a close look VOX gear was pretty much everywhere in the early sixties...the GERMAN show here pictured possibly provided all the gear not sure...not like GB amps it seems. Marriott famously leaves hse in Pimlico with a big old stack of FENDER beige amps (notsurewhatmodel) later with humble pie I'm sure he fell for MARSHALL amps but I'd say SELMER/VOX ac30/50
we started with * what you..* and then continued with * Ev'rybody needs somebody..* which led to * Raining in my ..*, short lived *68 experience with sunsets on the beach - actually we did shake as well, damals in St.Peter Ording
LOL hahaha...this is the best interview i've ever heard. Stick with it to the end it's class. "Well I'm gonna answer that question with another question, "Whatcha gonna do about it?"".
Absolutely hilarious!! This is what happens when Ricky Gervais and Nigel Tufnel end up in the same body!!!! Outstanding film footage. The amps look like the old Fender stage amps, not too sure about the cabinets though.
I aint gonna answer that question without a question, "Whatcha gonna do about it?" Pisser!
