  • This song is a dead ringer for Steve Forbert- so much so I thought it was some lost track of Forbert's from the late seventies.

  • PHENOMENAL! That is all.

  • Man, this guy's talented! And I just love when he hits the harmonica at the end of the intro. Cristian, eventhough you want to be the king of Spain, you'll always be the proudness of Sweden!

  • jesus this guy is a good guitarist

  • @oioichoi playing it is so much fun though!!

  • great song and a great singer! if you like this i suggest you should try also to hear some of ASAF AVIDAN'S songs..

  • love this? me too. davesplaylist.co.uk

  • Anybody know the name of his sunburst guitar ?

It seems to be an Epiphone EL-00 but i'm don't think it's that

  • @MykonosFl it isnt a furch ?

  • It's stange, in sweden he's not famous at all. I heard about him like a week ago or so

  • @Kalleballe1000

Inte så konstigt, I sverige lyssnar ungdomarna på valfri danslåt som får 100m views på youtube på en månad. Äldre sitter väl och drar sina "Greatest hits" eller "Absoulte 80's". Generaliserat, ja, men ändå. Inte precis en majoritet som letar musik utanför radion.

  • @Kalleballe1000 it's because so many people here listen to crappy music :p not many appreciate quality anymore, it's just about the latest top charts...

  • I like his mustache. Without it he would remind me of John Mayer.

  • Goodness this is so beautiful.

  • HE IS NOT TALL HE IS A LIAR

he's also not the king of spain

    or a gardener

  • @lastwrds14 I don't think you get it xD

  • @lastwrds14 pathetic try to get a top comment?

  • I don't like it..

  • I'm the Traveler King of Andulusia. Naraku. Sesshy babee.

  • awesome talent and writer!

  • i really dig his butt chin and his music!

  • Folk music isn't dead, it merely took a little nap after Bob Dylan!

  • @avergejoe And btw dont forget dylan isnt finished yet. Im seeing him in november in sweden together with mark knopfler from dire straits^^

  • I tap the midget ass its probably pretty tight butthole and thats what its all about

  • nothin wrong with a lil folk here and there

  • 10 people is part of the spanish royal family

  • l love his voice so much. Slightly reminiscent of Wreckless Eric... to me.

  • heard his name on Adult swim :D, came and looked him up.

  • @Awsmnation Ditto.

  • cool

  • Dylan's slightly better looking and quite early reincarnate is here, enjoy :)

  • His voice makes me smile.

  • @lpkid1989 Is this your way of trying to be funny or something?? that was the most ignorant thing ive heard in a while bro..

  • @lpkid1989 lose your virginity first and then keep it to yourself mate

  • @lpkid1989 .... the fuck?

  • im so in love with his voice omg

  • his stance just reminds me of the great John. R. Cash... probably a big influence in his life :)

  • I wish I'd see him live someday.

  • anyone else think his face resembles matt damon's? matt damon is part finnish also. haha

  • I heard my dad play this song in his car and fell in love.

  • That makes sense. Either way, we all agree that he does have an amazing voice, no? Sorry to sound like an asshole!

  • That makes sense. Either way, we all agree that he does have an amazing voice, no?

  • This song proves you don't have to have a voice like ADEL to be great.... people like Cohen, Dylan and others no the power of a song comes from the lyrics and the passion you put in to it!!!! EVEN THOUGH HIS VOICE IS AMAZING!

  • @josephfiennes14 Sorry but this makes little sense. You said his voice proves you don't have to a have a good voice to be good, but then you say he has a great voice. I agree with the latter.

  • @MatthewPietrus He said a voice like ADEL (ADELE)....

  • @MatthewPietrus i can see what he means. as in like, you dont have to a have a typical "american idol" type of voice to be considered an amazing singer.

  • @MatthewPietrus no he doesnt have the perfect voice - but i say i dont like the perfect voice - i love that ruff style... bob dylan

  • @josephfiennes14

He has a voice, just his voice is very rough. He hits every note, unless you are saying that he DOES have a good voice.

  • this is the first time ive heard him. love it.

  • same! love him aswell

  • So, who else thinks there's a reference to "Diary of a Madman" by Gogol in this song?

  • woulda preferred a big fat man with a beard. seems more right.

  • @dcmushi You'll have to make do with a Swedish gentleman with a cleft and an astonishing talent for music.

  • Great song :)

  • I am a native of the north folk.......

  • @Steoandnoodles1 Glad someone else has great taste in music, seeing as i recognise your name from a 'Villagers-The Pact' Video :)

  • @Steoandnoodles1 - sure, Leo's a great actor and yes if they made a movie in the future Leo would be too old by then - but he would be the Hollywood-close-enough-more-attractive-and-therefore-more-marketable-type guy. It's like in the movie "I'm Not There" Bob Dylan being played by Christian Bale - and yes...C.B's a good actor too but - but Cate Blanchett played Bob as well and was an unusual but perfect choice.

  • Does anyone here get the reference "i'll wear my boots of spanish leather" at 2:18? Boots of Spanish leather is a Dylan song off Another Side of Bob Dylan... so there's no question Dylan's an influence on this guy.

  • @soursweettooth there will never be another Boots of Spanish Leather without Dylan. However, this dude's songs are great.

  • @soursweettooth

Sorry to correct you but its actually off of The Times They Are A-Changin' but I believe it is a Dylan reference too. He has said in an interview that at 15 he started listening to Bob Dylan and it all went from there, he started looking back at Dylan's first album knowing that it was all cover songs (with the exception "Song to Woody") and started to listen to Dylan's influences from there.

  • 9 people were looking for a Moxy Fruvous cover.

  • jeezus - i just had a weird thought...i suddenly thought that if they made a movie about The Tallest Man on Earth they would use leonardo di caprio - please hollywood - if you make a movie about his life, just don't

  • he's kind of a deluxe version of Bob Dylan:)

  • 9 people arnt the king of spain....

  • Comment removed

  • @xyxyirish Why even bother?

  • His mustache is hilarious.

  • pure virtuoso

  • @ilikemonkeys100 :

I enjoy the fact that 69 people like your comment; it fits perfectly.

  • This is just absolutely fucking brilliant!!!!

  • This musician is interestingly different enough to be remembered; I like it.

  • i would have gone to coachella this weekend just for this guy. god, i love him so. ;-;

  • Yeah...quite Dylanesque

  • Pff, I could only afford to go to that concert, so many good artists are going to be there... But like Five-Star Binder says: Maybe Next Year!

  • His singing reminds me of Bob Dylan. Nothing wrong with that of course, lol.

  • Saw him on Jools Holland, it's nice that artist not producing pop can get a chance to show what they can do TV

  • I don't want to "bang" him, but I would rather like to purcahse his album real soon...

  • @usedfuzzbox I did yesterday, 2 at the same time, couldn't resist ;)

  • Why, oh why, is he not playing Glastonbury? Michael Evis listen up, he'll be a hit :) awesome music

  • if i was gay, this would be the kinda guy i would go for.

  • Just seen him on Later Live with Jools Holland and he was brilliant, had never heard of him before that. Beady Eye and Elbow were on as well and I love them and I'm sure the others who just tuned in to listen to Beady Eye and Elbow would have loved him aswell

  • @leachound I caught him on Jools too, and love it!! :)

  • @leachound Was at the show, personally thought he wiped the floor with everyone in the room! Absolutely immense x

  • @08davie1 I'm pretty jealous of you for being there haha, I would have loved to been there as well or any Jools Holland show, I think its probably the best thing on TV. I've found some of my favourite artists from that show as well like Paolo Nutini, Mumford and Sons and loads of others.

  • @leachound thats exactly how i heard of him lol

  • @leachound Hey, same here, he was the best on Jools Holland that night, one guy, one guitar, what more do you need??

Ive always liked elbow from the first album , not keen on those beady eyes though, all i see is mouthy manc gypo's, who arent even that talented...lol....ive learnt this king of Spain this morning, cant stop playing it, gotta learn the words now.

  • @whersWaldo haha or not

  • @nattrafik he is all his other tracks stink of ass

  • @whersWaldo Ah so the "I use Youtube as a ventilation for my anger problem" people have started to find the tallest man :) Well my good sir, time will reveal your misstake. I think that this is far from his best track and songs like love is all and the gardner tends to be more appriciated. He is not a one hit wonder since his songs rarely been promoted in Tv or Radio or supported by "big money", instead it's been a slow development via Youtube and live shows, thats all.

  • @whersWaldo lol

  • this guy makes me want to pick up my guitar and start writing and playing songs

  • Damn! This is amazing.

  • Check out our band , Teodoure! Awesome song!

  • superb.

  • I really like the guitar & song but his voice really gets on my nerves lol. I'll probably get used to it though.:P

  • @AhReeEl you do get used to it, and once you do, its one of the best voices you've ever heard

  • Seven Dutchmen watched this video shortly after the 2010 world cup finale.

  • @Dutchandlovingit02 haha now it's 11 XD

  • Getting a Jeff Mangum/Neutral Milk Hotel vibe here. That's not a bad thing. ;)

  • Just found him on Mountain Stage on XPN. I love it. Immediate fan. Awesome.

  • if i were a chick, he's the one guy i'd sleep with

  • someone needs to put this on a movie soundtrack..doesn't it sound like a good song for that?

  • first time i hear this swede (and how swede he is).....nordic devandra banhart anyone!?!

  • @sleapingtigerla Only he's a better guitar player!

  • Roskilde 11 see ya then ;)

  • at first, his voice really annoyed me, too. i thought the guitar playing was brilliant and his voice really was not fitting in with the beautiful guitar sound. but once i got over it - i really enjoyed listening..

  • I like his guitar play, hes good. but don`t like his voice, for some reason his voice annoys me. He reminds me of bob dylan, and that annoys me to for some reason. Now Jackson C. Frank and Fion Regan, thats the shit.

  • Um... this dude is just totally saturated with The Music Muse. He is completely possessed... and that's a good thing... for us, the mere mortals that listen to and appreciate such talent. Most execellent indeed ... and yes, the Dylan reference is not without serious merit.

  • Most underated artist ever?

  • Wow, would've never guessed he was Swedish

  • I'm not Spanish, but I still enjoyed this song!

  • I'm spanish hehe. I love this guys music :D.

  • Jag får rysningar när du spelar!! Så synd att jag missade dig när du spelade på Mosebacke.. GRYMT BRA JOBBAT

  • 'boots of spanish leather' is totally a bob dylan reference....kind of spain is totally a gogol reference. i hold nothing against the tallest man on earth...but, he does seem to seek to embondy multiple cultural references in his songwork. which is wonderful from a culturally anthropogetic point of view....ah. culture sustaining itself....so good.

  • Certainly deserves to stand tall this fella... good on him.

  • the new dylan

  • @calebyyw61

thats not the most chiched thing to say ever

  • his voice reminds me of the singer from cage the elephant, fucking sweet

  • Intense shivers down my spine, boy oh boy, this doesn't happen that often anymore :)

  • Wow, he made it to Roskilde? That's really something.

  • See you con Coachella

  • just found this, makes me wanna buy an acoustic guitar

  • why does he look like jonny depp --_____--

  • Iron and Wine + Bob Dylan = The Tallest Man on Earth.

  • My mate just asked me on facebook "You heard of the tallest man on earth?" I'm glad i have now. What a great artist this bloke is.

  • its like Billy Corgan and Bob Dylan had a love child who just happened to be the Tallest Man on Earth

  • @tjemilo92 hahahha.

  • See you at Roskilde Festival in July :)

  • @Krygeryo

    Yeah please! Would be BRA!

  • @MrKrag16 He's already booked :) I didn't know him before I started listening to bands that Roskilde had booked

  • @Krygeryo Oh niice! even thou they haven't published that many bands, you can already tell that it's going to be great!

  • Sweden is now more american than America. God bless the united states of Sweden!

Hey Yankees, can you beat this guy? i think not....

  • love it! nice strange voice. fine piece of guitar just love it. even after a 100 times listening it

  • ADDICTIVE LISTENING

  • I am addicted to his sound - I cant stop listening... I cant stop!

  • I wanna bang him.

  • @ilikemonkeys100

I thought you only liked monkeys...

  • @ilikemonkeys100 i love you

  • @ilikemonkeys100

i wanna bang him with you

  • @ilikemonkeys100 Ja, echt jetzt.....

  • This summer @ Roskilde :)))

  • pitchhhfork mother fuckers!

  • he lives 3 miles aways from me

  • @ErikBrasar do you camp out on his lawn? i probly would haha

  • @thekohlton Haha no, but his father bought a christmastree of mine

  • @ErikBrasar holy shittttttttt lucky

  • Nån som vet när han kommer till Örebro?

  • forget house/rap/electro, we need heros like this guy!

  • @HardMusicRecords

Yeah, who needs diversity!! Monotony is soo awesome...

  • @camos89 I was about to ask the same thing!

  • does anyone know the make of guitar he's using?? (0:18-0:29)

  • "He's not from Barcelona, he's from Sweden". Lol Classic comment from the dude that posted this. Thanks for the laugh ; )

  • 3 people arent natives of the north folk

  • I fucking love the lines:

Still I am not from Barcelona

I am not even from Madrid

I am a native of the north pole

And that could mess up any kid

Since I'm also from Sweden I can relate so fucking much to: I am a native of the north pole also there's a quite famous swedish band called I'm From Barcelona which makes the line Still I am not from Barcelona truly genious!

  • @YeahChonas It's a native of the north folk..he's from sweden..

  • @YeahChonas It's I am a native of the north folk...he's from Sweden.

  • @andymac117 No shit. But listen carefully to what he sings in this video and watch his lips: /watch?v=mLW7GIfygTA

Seems like he shifts between singing "North Pole" and "North Folk"

  • @YeahChonas All I'm saying that if you "fucking love the lines" get it right, buds.

  • This music , a bottle of wine and a 'happy stick'! ;-)

  • He really sort of sounds like early Bob Dylan (around THE TIMES THEY ARE A-CHNAGIN') but also unique. And if you have the chance, go see him live! He's really funny, likeable and has a great stage presence.

  • I'm a native of the north...
