Panama City is ruined.This place was one of the best beach towns to spend a good vacation back in the 50's 60's 70'sand 80's.With plenty of mom and pop motels,everything had a quaint small beach town atmosphere.it had a great vacation amusement park,cool putt putts and go cart tracks.But now that you greedy idiots hae moved in,you have ruined what was a great place.I haven't been to PC since 1996 just before the change started.Guess what? I won't be coming back to PC.Such a shame.Such a ruin.

Is anyone paying attention to the environmental damage from the January 2010 strom water run off at the new Panama City Airport?

The lecture I attended by St. Andrew Bay Resourse Management "Unfullfilled Promises" on the recent storm water run off damage showed this not healthy growth at all.

My fiance's family has been going to Panama City Beach, FL. for over 35 years, every year, except 1. My fiance has gone every year since he was born back in 1983 and I'm happy to join them in the family vacation now and it started last year. I've lived in Pensacola, FL. b4 but Panama is by far so much more beautiful. I recommened going to Pier Park, we went last yr. and it has everything a shopper looks for. Oh and go to Margaritaville. It still is a mom and dad place. The Best Place to look for a family of four or more. Try Thomas Dr. It is more family friendly, and doesnt have much traffic. If you are there to party then you can stay on Front Beach Rd. If u look close enough you will find decent prices for condos and still have enough money to do fun things with the family

I grew up 2 hours from PCB, and i guess there is a little good and a little bad with the improvements. They are trying to make PC attract more of the rich ever since MTV started coming. The problem is why go to PCB when you can go somewhere much better. The spring breaker are a huge problem there. I mean the rich kid spring breakers. The hotels have got out of hand with the prices. IT use to be know for being a great value. That is why people came.

Careful about over blowing the size of the Airport. Yes it will be built on 4,000 acres, but only about 1,300 of those will actually be the airport. It will have 7 gates in a 100,000 square foot terminal. WAAAY smaller than Hartsfeild or even the airport you compared it to in Ft. Meyers when it first opened in 1983.

My husband and I are planning to sell our large home in Georgia and buy a smaller one here to keep our "stuff" in, and move to a condo in P.C. The housing market is very bad here so we will have to try to wait a little while for it to hopefully pick up. We are looking at condos on the water and across the street from the beach. It seems that the level of construction on the beach has bottomed out since 2005. It looks like some of the condo projects have stalled, Fiesta Motel and MSAP have been sitting vacant for a couple years. I like PCB, but certainly hope it never becomes like Miami Beach, which doesn't even seem like America!

Actually,the depressed market is making PCB one of the most affordable areas to buy beachfront in Florida. The older beachfront units are selling as low as $113K and motivated sellers are listing beachfront units in the new "fancy" complexes as low as $170K which is really low compared to central and south Florida. We're all betting that the prices will jump dramatically though when the airport is done.
