Got married in 1988 and had the Zanussi FL811 as a wedding present. Have still got it now (22 years later) and still works even after using it nearly every day. Had to have a new dial on it - not because it went wrong but the letters rubbed off with use!
Ahhh i remember this ours accutly died, our lived for 22 years and been france and back and running under -0c what great washing machine i think we got rid of it because of pipe or something or other (cant remember) and we couldnt get a replacement but on when we had it (when i was little) it used to sort of jump off the ground when it went into full cycle (because ours used to go into its full RPM stairt away) ahh memories
My Grandma used to have this machine, she had it for years. I used to love the fact that it went straight into spin, my old hoover logic used to it too. My nan got rid of the machine after it flooded the kitchen, no matter what parts were changed on the machine, it wouldn't stop filling. She then got a Tricity Bendix. My parents hoover logic broke and so decided to get the Zanussi Jetsystem which was ace as it did spin rinses, that died to :-(
i used to have this Machine. It was brilliant, lasted 15 years, but broke down, it spun and the whole drum flew out and completely came out of place, this brings back memories lol.
Hey can I ask why this machine doesn't distribute whilst draining water before spin and jst bursts straight into a spin? I find it really wierd how a machine can do that.
I've recently aquired a second hand zanussi that looks just like this, the only problem is the sticker with the cycles, ie what letter a 40 degree wash is, has come off, as has the model number. Could someone tell me what the letters are for 30, 40, 60 degree cycles? Thanks very much.
Hi, what model do you have? Letter F is usually 60 degrees and G is 40 degrees. These machines did not have a 30 degree cottons cycle. Hope that helps.
Usualy before a washer starts its spin the motor rotates n' keeps going round. But on this its draining water n' then it bursts straight into a spin. Could somebody please tell me why?
I used to have this machine, lasting 18 years. All functions are preprogrammed, there are no sensors to alter the routine. So, you'll get about 20 cycles each way before it spins for example. Unlike newer machines that can tell if the spin is out of balance, this machine will just fast spin regardless if the drum wants to jump and smash your kitchen ceiling.
Prefer this to the newer 'green' machines. They're really stingey on water!
1988 actually. I had this and it lasted until 2007. It didn't really die out, just the motor was losing energy. I grew up with this machine, knew all the programmes inside out. Wonderful service.

5 months on, i dont know whether you will still be interested, but anyway.
the reason for the unusual behaviour is that this machine has an induction motor - hence why it also is very quiet.
induction motors in washing machines, until relatively recently, were only capable of producing two speeds - wash/tumble speed and full spin speed.
this machine, and most old induction motor machines, did not do a distribute cycle before spin, but instead charged straight into full spin.
