Also, if you live in San Diego, google ADRENALINE FUELED, and a skate website should pop up somewhere near the top of the results. Look for "SDDRL" on the site, it stands for San Diego Downhill Race League. My friend Tye runs the league and every month or so he holds a race in the SoCal area. @thecookiebutcher Sliding reduces speed by alot! I don't know how much exactly but if you make a 180 degrees slide and roll uphill for a bit I think you can savely bail out :)

@alex15skate But that's not to say your trucks may need some tightening. Loose trucks make for easier turns but when your flying down a hill you'll want tighter trucks to avoid the speed wobbles.

Also, it helps if you bought a real long board and not a cheap one from Wal-mart.
