Call reception depends on where you are. Music downloading isnt direct form phone. It's with USB. And yes you can add a password.

I had the Eris all around it was an ok phone to me. The haptic feedback on the home keys stopped working and the speaker on it was just garbage, couldnt hardly have the volume up or it would distort terrible.

It's not a camera. It's a sensor to blank the screen when you put it up to your face in a phone call.
