  • q bosssstaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I have seen all of these supposed extra scenes in the Cinema when I saw the film. Was the European version uncensored or something?

  • Wait, since when did Veidt know Rorschach's identity?

  • @Dzumeister I think the "we" was referring to Dan and the other watchmen

  • That man is sooooo pretty.

  • Like most films, with an extended version, the rhythm an narrative structure gets bent. Since those are DVD projects, the viewer expects for every scene of the original movie to be in there as well. It is unlike e.g. the TV version of "Das Boot" where alternative takes were substituting takes for the cinema version. Alternatively scenes could be left out. People don't want to sit for 3 hours in the cinema any longer, which is a different tempo from a 2 hour film.

  • I hate it that they replaced the scene. Rorschach confronting veidt was much better because it was two people with polar opposite ideologies talking to each other as well as rorschach exposing veidt's hypocrisy

  • It was not replaced. It was extended. I agree, the scene does not fit in at that stage of the film.

  • @hyperseauton no in the book there is a scene where rorschach meets adrian in his building confronts him. The quote he was practically a nazi was strait from that scene That scene is not in the movie and this was put in its place.

  • In the graphic novel, it was Roarshach that went to see Veidt, not Dan

  • the book also didnt have "men get arrested, DOGS get PUT DOWN"

The book also didn't have hollis's improved death scene.

The book also didn't have concise dialogue.

The book also didn't have Prophecies playing during manhattan's flashbacks.

The book also didn't have the improved rorschach prison scene.

    so yeah

  • 00:23 adrian is seriously considering killing rorschach or even dan, i love how when dan reveals that hes just being a sweetie adrian completely relaxes

  • pructucly a nutsee

  • I'll have to admit, Veidt is definitely my favorite character in the graphic novel and the film, besides Dr. Manhattan. He's a complete genius, and probably has a better perspective on the world than any of the others (except for Osterman) and his insight surpasses all of the other Watchmen (except for Jon). I completely agree with his view on the world. He's perfectly fit in his mental capacity AND his physical capabilities.

  • Adrian could kick Batman's ass any day.

  • I love how all the Watchmen did different things to survive the Keene Act. Rorschach and Nite Owl went into hiding, Ozymandias turned his image into a corporation, Manhattan and Comedian worked for the government.

  • I really like Veidt's character in the movie; the graphic novel makes him seem like an unbelievable douche.

  • He kinda is though.

  • That's because he is an unbelievable douche.

  • I totally agree. I feel like the movie made him a lot more sympathetic, so you can see his point. The graphic novel just made him seem almost selfish? I don't know.

  • godlike powers

  • well cant dr manhattan make giant clones of himself to stop the nukes? each with god powers?

  • I thought this scene was in the movie?

  • i think it was just shorter in the theatrical cut.

  • I thought this film was on par with Dark Knight.

  • Without Heath ledger Dark Knight would just be another dissappointing sequel.

Watchmen was da bom right through to it's core and 1000 times better

  • I dissagree, The Dark Knight was an impeccably crafted film in its own right, Ledgers peformance just turned the film into a downright masterpiece.

  • @myrkeyjones yeah, i mean dont get me wrong, heath ledgers performance was good in that movie, but there was so much about it that was great. The characters, the story structure, the themes, and everyone had great performances, especially aaron echart (harvey dent) I think he did just as good as ledger

  • @hotrod2c I agree completely.

  • @myrkeyjones The Dark Knight is also an original story, unlike the Watchmen movie, which is an adaptation of the graphic novel. Don't get me wrong. Watchmen is a great movie, but it's only as good as the graphic novel made it.

  • Bitch please, TDK was a very good film with a very good message. Not as good as The Watchman though, although the type of person who fanbois TDK often can't appreciate it.

  • this is one of my favorite movies

  • TDK WAS a better movie. I mean Watchmen had the potential to be better but it dropped the ball in a few spots. I look forward to seeing the Director's cut whenever the DVD comes out.

  • Adrian is so hot.

  • @heioo1 Totally agree with you not only is he Hot but he has such a Sexy voice too ;)

  • Adrian. Is so sexy. My god.

  • if the actor looked usually like that he would have a looooooot of fans!!!!

  • lol. matthew goode only looks good in this movie. he looks good as Ozymandias.

  • can you upload the scene where Rorschach says "I'm not locked in here with you. You're all locked in here with me!"?

  • Only if that scene is available of course.

  • SUCH A GOOD SCENE.

  • it's uploaded check my favourites

  • I don't see how the movie was soulless. You fools likely didn't comprehend the film at all, nor are able to stomach the grisly reality of this work when it is right before your eyes. Please, go back to watching your horror flicks and romantic comedies. Obviously, society is not able to tolerate something of this scope.

  • And people will disrespect it anyway becuz it was almost souless. Plus it appears that it didn't even meet box office expectations over the weekend. Serves snyder right. Leave "real work of art" as it in the wonderful book.

  • really be cause all my friends saw it and the liked it. (except the blue penis)

  • Go Fuck yourself! It's the Fight club of the New Millenium.

  • If fans loved the book which had the squid, what is the problem with taking the squid being in the movie? For somebody like snydes who all about "art" and imagery, I mean damn, the squid is like one of the most iconic images of the book.

  • its not a work of art, it simply is art.

  • And why not? Give me one good reason.

  • Oh yea, and snyder's ending was not better. The squid was strange but the whole point was trying to unite the people by having a common enemy. Snyder just dumbed it down. Sometimes the simple way is not always the right way.

  • i cunker

  • Adrian Veidt

  • I actually preferred Snyder's ending. It was much more cohesive, and now felt as if it had been building to it, as opposed to Moore's out of left field ending.

  • I agree.

  • @ERoBB1 what's the difference between the movie ending and the comics ending.can u pls tell me?

  • @xtazy115

In the comics, Veidt builds a giant squid monster, and transports it to New York, while setting off some type of sonic boom. So it kills millions of people, and makes it look like some type of alien invasion.

In the movie he frames Dr. Manhattan.

  • @ERoBB1 I have to disagree with you there, Dr Manhattan was a weapon of the US, an instrument of power. Even though he left earth he would still be strongly associated with the US and it makes little sense that the Soviet Union and the US would join together against an originally US weapon. Moore's ending makes more sense since the squid is a completely outside threat. But both endings keep the core significance, what Ozymandias is willing to sacrifice to ensure peace.

  • @Viciousfella ......Exactly.

  • This is supposed to be Rorscach doing the warnings!

  • rorschach did do the warnings this is another scene from the comic where dan talks to veidt

  • @ZaketoX2

I mean seriously, r u saying a giant godzilla size Mr. Manhattan and Mr. Manhattan's giant machine coming out of Mars is fine, but the squid isn't????? C'mon.

  • good piont but i think ur overreacting

  • i don't think i am, hollywood has been doing this type of stuff for a while. Fans need to say something and not just be simple-minded sheep who except whatever hollywod puts out even if its bad. This kind of thinking is important.

  • wow Wislon looks the part theres no doubt about that, striking resmemblence.

  • I was starting to think "maybe I can enjoy as a movie -as if the graphic novel didn't exist" or "atleast it's better source material than most scripts" and then I saw this shit. The acting's bad. The background events of the Cold War are made explicit for retarded audience members. And Nite Owl takes Rorschach's place for no apparent reason.

  • So now Dreiberg believes Rorschach instantly?

  • isnt he too young to play adrian?... and is bubastis gonna be in the movie?

  • POSSIBLE SPOILER BELOW

Although this might not be a BIG spoiler, it may be important to those who have not read the book.

In the book wasn't it Rorshach who warned Veidt?

I haven't read it in a long time so I kinda forget.

  • y do people keep complaining about Adrian in this movie? yea i admit he doesnt look intimidating and badass, but thats what makes him special. in real life, i've met some people who look like they cant hurt anyone at all, but when they got in a fight, they kick their opponent's asses like theres no tomorrow. very much like Adrian in this movie. he DOESNT want to SHOW that he is a lethal weapon.

  • Same here. It would have been better if they put Rorschach in this scene instead because there was no hint at what Veidt did.

Well, it's like what Rorschach said in Chapter 10. "Veidt is faster then Dreiberg and possibly faster then me".

Even though this film will not do the book justice, I'm still going to watch it.

  • Noo! Don't do it sparrowsanzo ! Boycott.

  • You dick.

  • How am I a dick!?

I said don't read it if you want spoilers.

  • People read top to bottom, not bottom to top.

  • Do you have some kind of Internet Tourrettes or something?

I'm sure if you really wanted to discuss the Ending to Watchmen, you could find some message forum, someplace more suitable then comments on a youtube video.

  • The hobo with the sign is Rorschach. OMG TEEHEE I SPOILED IT GIGGLY GIGGLY GOO. I HOPE YOU DONT READ IT! :]

  • I already read the book, I know what happens you tard licker.

  • Oh you did? I really thought you were just reading spoilers off of a website to piss people off.

Now I know you just don't give a shit about other people.

  • Um, what's the difference between those two things? A spoiler is a spoiler.

If I wanted to say just a movie spoiler it would be that for some bizarre reason Snyder altered Veidt's plan to make it look like Dr Manhattan attacks Earth instead of hoaxing an alien attack.

  • Everbody already knows he's the villian. Thats whats so stupid about this scene. They dumbed his character down so its so obvious hes the bad guy. Its so ridiculous.

  • nice!

look at my home made movies and rate!

  • you're a fuckign rat...let people be surprised by the movie.

  • @ RobotFather

    READ THE BOOK YOU DICKHEAD!!!

  • ..I've read the book.

  • @ RobotFather

If you read the book then what are you complaining about?!?!?!

  • It ruins it for people who haven't read it.

  • @ RobotFather

Why are we concerned about people who haven't read it??? All the fans have read it and the FANS are who Zack Snyder should be concerned about!!!! Not changing the ending so it can please people who have never picked up a comic book in their life!!!!!

  • Actually, the point of making a movie is to bring the story to a new audience. And when youre bringing the story to a new audience, your going to want them to enjoy it.

  • What? No its not. The point of making a movie is showing the original source in another media form. Changing things in order to reach wider audiences main purpose is mostly about greed for making money.

  • No, the main purpose of reaching wider audiences is reaching wider audiences.

Action Figures, Video Games, Novelty T-Shirts, those are about making money.

  • They do it for money my friend. Other wise why would they do it? If you change the ending with the squid that tells you the filmmakers r more concered about non-fans which is like a slap in the face to the people who read the book. Its ridiculous.

  • If they really are trying to piss off the fans, then they can't possibly be doing it for money, since fans are going to be a big part of the people paying to see this movie.

  • @ZaketoX2

The things they are doing is a slap in the face and its wrong, but they are not deep down evil, they just want money. I'm sure they are not TRYING to piss the fans off obviously, but they are doing things to get high numbers at the box office becuz in the sad world of hollywood thats whats more important. Alot of fans are blind to this type of thinking so they don't care how you change their comics they will just accept anything hollywood puts out. This must stop!

  • Did you know that Rambo was based off a book called "First Blood"? At the end of the book, Rambo committed suicide due to the horror's of vietnam. But when they made the movie, they let him live. Not because they wanted money, because they thought that it would be a terrible message to send to real vietnam war veterans.

Listen, The Director is not doing things for Money, thats what the Producers do. The Director is just trying to make things the way he thinks they should be done.

  • Comment removed

  • Well if you think the things he changed were stupid, why are you unhappy with it?

  • @ZaketoX2

No no, you misunderstood. The things HE put in the movie (his ideas) are stupid.

  • And the giant rubber Vagina squid is a genius work of art that noone should dare mess with?

  • @ZaketoX2

Look at it this way. Wat sense does it make now to have Ozzy's genetically engineered pet cat in the film and not the squid?? Does that make any sense? The cat was wat lead up to Ozzy creating that creature. Snyder might as well taken the cat out of the film too but he didn't. Nothing makes sense.

  • The only problem I have with Ozymandias is he looks like a pussy.

    The man catches a bullet!!!!!

How can he have no muscle?

The thing about the ending isn't true.

There just isn't the giant squid.

  • Seeing these clips is so different when not seeing everything before them...the clips are usually a bit switched around in the theatrical and more sinked in. Lets not make too much judging yet! =)

  • Yeah, you're right. I guess this isn't a huge deal, but still...

  • Looks like it will be alright... It's no Dark Knight though.

  • quit whining.

  • Oh, man! Why does Dreiberg go to see him?

  • Cause there´s a lot of Rorschach´s in the beginning

  • nite owl looks like quentin tarrantino

  • oh god.. i hope the movie doesnt suck :( this scene is fail.

  • I just watched 3 short scenes and i think they were all fails..

  • He stood up for his country, Veidt. He never let anybody retire him. Never cashed in on his reputation. Never set up a company selling posters and diet books and toy soldiers based on himself. Never became a prostitute. If that makes him a Nazi, you might as well call me a Nazi, too.

  • ya....we are going to miss that line

rorshach putting down veidt, while at the same time having absolutely no self awareness was what made the novel brilliant

    oh well

  • Yeah, but I could see how they intended to expand character development by sending Dan to Adrian, which isn't such a bad thing...
