Thor and Captain America both kind of felt like Disney movies to me and they were both awesome. My theory is that Marvel is voluntarily switching over to the Disney style of filmmaking (while still retaining their own unique flavor) so that Disney won't step in and go "hey guys, you need to do it this way". Time will tell, but The Avengers will be the first Marvel movie to have the Disney name on it, so hopefully when people see how cool it is, the fanboys will stop complaining.
so after they run power rangers to the ground they decide to sell PR and buy the marvel heroes instead? Don't get me wrong, i like japanese heroes like PR (PR is an american remake of a japanese tv show NOT produced by disney) and i love disney (classic disney like lion king and mulan, not teen pop disney like High School Musical), but i don't like what they're doing with superheroes. if Disney wants superheroes, they should stick with stuff like sky high and the incredibles.
Well, I know this topic is beyond yesterdays news, but the thing to remember is Disney owns Miramax Studios. Miramax is known for films that are gritty, uncompromising, and on the edge (Pulp Fiction, Dogma, Kids, etc.)
Miramax, was allowed to be run independently from Disney (but Disney did have the final say on what movies they could release). As far as I can tell, Disney has not interfered with Marvel in the least. But it's still early.
Really who cares disney isn't going to touch the comics probably and has marvel on their own made an actually good super hero movie. I don't think anything will change except maybe the movies will get even bigger budgets.
ummm....idk if u've seen it, but theres a new marvel cartoon called the super hero squad show. It pretty much butchers many marvel heroes and villains

whats the matter with you? just cause you hate someone you must also hate everything they do? you are a sad girl really. as far as all this goes: Think Warner Bros and DC's relationship. The comics are left alone and the world is told of them by movies, animation, toys, etc. It has only helped them survive Marvel's awesomeness. A good story is a good story PERIOD! It can be G or NC-17! Doesn't matter. You been betrayed? Cmon, get over the fact that the world revolves around money, lol!
You have a point story line wise, but as far as movies go, there's too much material to cover in a 2 hour, 1 1/2 hour movie. I don't mind if the movie tries something new. If I don't like the movie, I got the comics.
Anyway, I'm just crossing my fingers that Disney doesn't do something. It's going to be weird as hell seeing the Disney logo on anything Marvel related though.
Off topic, have you been following Batman? Liked what they did with Dick Grayson taking up the cowl?
I hope Disney doesn't touch Marvel. I doubt they will. They also own Miramax by the way and they released Kill Bill so there's a bloody, dark heart someone in Disney......I'm reaching now. :P
Yes. But I'm also worried Story-line wise, not just censorship wise. Movies already have a history of NOT exactly following the comics, so if owned by Disney, it'll probably be worse.
Stan Lee (and his imprint POW! entertainment) are already under the Disney banner. I think it's too early to tell what would happen. In the meantime, let's have fun with this.
I hope your wrong about DC. Its bad enoguht That X-men, Spiderman, Punisher, Deadpool, Ema Frost and Ghost Rinder are now Disney Charaters but please leave Batman alone! Knowning Disney though it might be likly since they already play there old shows on there channel. Hevean help us if they try to buy Image, Dark Hores's and Topcow. Spawn, Hellboy and Witchblad in the magic kingdomee. All that would be left then would be Japanese manga.
Hmmm, Square Enix may want to watch its back now.
I swear ill move to DC if marvel turns into some kiddy shit!

Also, Warner Bros owns DC. They have since 1969.

Fun fact, Disney made the 1994 Spiderman and X-Men cartoons, both know as the most accurate iterations of the respective franchises.
