What gear do you use to catch steelhead? Rod weight, leader strength, flies, everything? I want to maximumize my ability to catch these things and by watching the video it looks like you'd be a good person to ask.
@1BurtonBoy1 hey i do alot of steelhead fly fishing and i can help you, the rod weight you will need is a 8wt because sometimes you might hook into kings so you need a heavy rod like the 8wt, for leader strength i use 6lb flouo carbon so i dont buy a leader but a spool of 6lb flouo carbon if you want you could use 8lb. for flies try egg patterns and nymph patterns spey flies for egg patterns i recommend sucker spawn fly and a blood dot egg. For nymphs any beadhead nymph will work try stone flies
@1BurtonBoy1 you need to buy a large arbor reel to reel in more line faster, you want aleast a reel that will hold 150yds of backing or more. for streamers try egg sucking leeches and muddler minnows. For nymph fishing i recommed you this rig its called "strike indy rig" google it. This rig is good for pocket water drift your rig over holes. The fly line i recommed is a weight-forward fly line for longer casts. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
