They actually ARE the same voice actresses, but think about it. The Well event happened... HOW long ago? I'd think that back then, the night elves spoke with different tones/accents. Of course her voice sounds modern now. It changed with time. Just like their culture.
10,000 years ago. And Malfurion, Illidan, and Azshara have different accents. As for the culture, they went from trolls to Night Elves 16-20 thousand years ago. Further, Accents don't really change like that. They didn't change their language at all, and it didn't evolve all that much, though they do have an "Old Forn" of script.
@ferlion12 I didn't say they changed their language. I'm saying they spoke using their 'original' accent. People's accents CAN change through time. It's happened before. I guess I just find it strange that Tyrande's accent is back to her 'roots', while others sound 'normal'.
@ferlion12 That's only like two generations of night elves. If blizz changes it, it's now cannon. I don't really see the big deal other than her sounding like Aggra. It's not that serious. I'm more concerned with her fail depictions as of late in the short story.
All are a symptom of her failed depictions in the story. The issue is that htis is the same voice actor as her WC3 one. Also, only two generations make the accent LESS likely to change, even though it's been less than one generation what with immortality and all. Some of her voice acting on her lines is great. Same as the WC3 Tyrande. Others, in the same instance, sound like a troll. It;s poor quality control.
@ferlion12 You're right. Blah. I'm just trying to make myself feel better as a night elf roleplayer from MG. I even rolled a hunter to give her that WC3 feel with Trueshot Aura, Hawk Owl, Searing Arrows, Silver plate armor and the works. Now it's just teeth nashingly (or should I say KNACKingly lol bad pun) annoying that they are changing the strong female warrior mentality without wc night elf lore. They were described as "perfect warriors" and "savage" by ORC standards for crying out loud.
@ferlion12 Ugh! Damn you! You talk like you know much but Night Elves decending from trolls is a Troll legend. Nothing more. It has been refused completely in Night Elven lore multiple times.
Stop bringing it up like it was absolute truth and confuse people who aren't familier with lore.
As said many times on the WoW forums, the wow magazine and the WoW game are NOT necessarily related and many things that happen on the 'mag' stay in the 'mag'. WoWgame lore isn't affected by the magazine in any way unless that specific part of lore is also posted on the website or represented ingame.
I play the game, I don't read the magazine, and in the game I play, as far as official lore goes, Night Elves don't decend from Trolls.
@Darien0Shields Yeah, I gotta say I agree with you there. There have been times I've thought, when clicking on her to listen to her talk, "Hm. I think I can hear -some- accent in this voice-over..." but I really don't know anymore. I think Blizzard needs to pay more attention to how they originally sounded in Warcraft, and not change them. The only really -good- voice change I thought was remotely decent was Illidan. Liam O'brian (Sp) does a really good job with him.
@AtronaVoret She's the only bloody night elf that has that kind of accent. Yeah, 'Dark Trolls', but... really? They gave her a normal, strong voice in WC3. Change it back!! /endrage
@hiko1989 I've yet to see anyone provide any proof that they are the same voice actor as the original Tyrande voice. All I've seen is anecdotal evidence saying "listen to them, they sound alike but different accents". I have listened to both. They sound like different voices as well as different accents. It does, however, sound like the same annoying and terrible voice actor that did Aggra. Time to hire some professionals for once on this game. Amateur writers and voice actors is annoying.
Oh gawd. Horrible. Nothing like the original Tyrande voice from WC3 and WoW. Hopefully this is temp VO that will be replaced when the finished VO is ready.
There is nothing in the accent to suggest she is less sophisticated. Are Jamaicans any less sophisticated? This is also the original voice actress from the WC3 Campaign so it's authentic.
@vamifek No I agree. I don't like that she sounds like aggra. I liked how their voices seemed more..whimsical is I guess what I would call it. Does that make sense? The ethereal warrior sound. Azshara sounds amazing though.
@KrazyK923 That they descended from trolls? They descended from Dark Trolls as per the blizzard's warcraft official magazine issue 5. There is my citation.
@kfloresisme there's a lot to stand to reason they don't sound like a troll. For one trolls are unsophisticated, Night Elves are very sophisticated, two no night elf until now ever sounded like a troll, and that should never be the case, 3, the evolution of a higher functioning night elf from the chimp ancestor known as troll changed many things, their voice and language included. More examples, English derived from German, a British accent sounds nothing like a German one.
You know? After listening to her so many times, its not so bad anymore.
