On my laptop, the volume dial is just there, and on my desktop, the volume dial is on the speakers, which is placed near the keyboard, so I don't have that problem.

My G11 has media keys as well, but I'm a gamer, and when I'm playing games, I dont want to tun down the volume globally, just WMP. Not sure if you can with WMP but its not a problem anymore since I switch to using Foobar2000, which allows me to make a bind to turn down only the media player's volume.

Foobar2000 pretty much blows any other media player out of the water anyways. I'd recommend it. Plus Its free.

Windows 7 is pretty cool.

Even on a old laptop (with somewhat outdated hardware), it still runs smooth and fairly quick.

But other than that, it's just a lighter version of Vista (combined with XP). With the exception of the new taskbar and jump list, everything else is almost identical to Vista. I like the new features of the standard Paint and Wordpad though. It's an improvement.

I just did what he's doing in the video on Windows 7 with a 1.8Ghz single core and 1.5GB RAM and it runs fine! Trust me, I have a tri-boot with XP, Vista, and the latest 7 and 7 is a bagillion times faster than Vista.

I'm a windows user who switched to mac who will switch back to windows via dual boot on the mac. Windows isn't perfect, and neither is OS X, but Windows 7 beats the hell out of Snow Leopard.

As far as I see it Windows 7 + OSX 10.5 (fuck 10.6) is the best combination for computing today.
