7:30 after Ben was finished, the other 5 musician on this stage, got up, took their guitars, piled them up and set them on fire, knowing full well, they would never be this good! All due respect!
Irgendwie hamsterlich niedlich und dann auch noch ein bärenstarker Sound. Sehr sympathischer Typ und hat echt was drauf. Nichts für den ganzen Tag, aber ab und zu einechter Hinhöhrer.
awesome stuff ,truely amazing. les paul would love it,also reminds me of my friend david pastorius(bass player) if ever down in central florida i own a pretty cool venue now called baroos beachside ,used to be the hustler. would love to have you in. thanx ,pete
They all look at him like they want to murder him....it's hysterical....like, "Who does this guy think he is"?......and yes people, I did see him play LIVE!!!
yeah.. this was soo great in person.. he dedicated it to his mom. (who was there..) we saw him and her later.. at some club around the corner.. when we were watching Victor Wooten.. what an awesome night of music..
Yeah.. i was at namm.. that year.. and got free tickets to go see this.. (i had already seenand hung with ben Many times at Namm..funny.. EVERY time i see him he is like.. "let's go get a sandwich..) lol .. but if i remember right ..someone cancelled on the all star guitar jam.. and they were like.. get ben lacy... The look on All of their faces on stage.. was just Hilarious.. Phil..( as great as he is) did a jam with a bunch of loops..) basically needing a machine to even come CLOSE.
Weird that it didn't make the DVD. I was there, and it was clearly the highlight of the night. Just listen to the audience reaction; he had us in the palm of his hand.
simlply amazing...look at the part where the guy is staring at him, i think theres a hint of of "wow this guy smokes me" on his face, and they are all stellar players themselves...
So he just came to our school and jammed for an hour with one of my professors...just kinda out of the blue. I was about 10 feet from him watching him play this.
true story... At a bar I use to work at. This guy walks in on a jam night with some friends. with no insturment the host lets him borrow his strat so he could play. With plenty of musicians in the audiance, he basicly says no I got this. One of his friends introduces him as Ben Lacey and he breaks into a Stevie Wonder song and "KILLS" it!, along with 4 others. I still have the video. So cool, he's wonderful.
The guy in the middle with the long blond hair is Ed Gerhard. I think the guy smiling near the of the clip is Alex DeGrassi. Both master guitarists of course. Not sure who the others are.
The guy actually playing through this (Ben Lacy) is considered to be one of the "greatest guitarists you've never heard of". Not only is Ben a GREAT guy, but he's never failed to blow me away, even back when he was with a local Lex. KY southern rock band called "Amazing Grace" in the early 90s. He's just insanely talented and spends his freetime practicing. I'm just glad to see him starting to get significant recognition.
Ben! omg i use to watch this guy play at the Trash Can and JDI's,n always just blew me away, glad to see him excel into a world class player, could'nt happen to a nicer person, love ya man ..rock on!

well you really can't spell it Kasmir because of copyright infringement, if Ben really posted it with the correct spelling there would definitlely be a lawsuit coming from Atlantic records.
the song is called Kasmir, it from Led Zeppelin, its spelled wrong due to copyright infringement, and you really can't downloaded from a legal site because they never Led Zeppelin never releases their songs on anything except their records, so you'll have to buy the CD to get it (P.S. there are a lot of posers who cover this, song, ignore them and get the real thing ; )
Motley crue is good and he can definitley play it i've seen him, its pretty basic for him, he doesn't ever play it because its not really the kind of music he can put his usual slap styling to

Haven't seen this one of Ben. He's ALWAYS had GREAT interpretations for guitar.
Notice Phil(Keaggy) on the opposite end, just WANTING to jam along with this groove! (JUST like the REST of us)!
Rock on, Ben...

Can SOMEONE tell whoever posted this clip that Led Zeppelin's KASHMIR is not spelled CASHMERE!!
This way, when someone google's Kashmir, they will get the opportunity to see this terrific piece!
71MikeGrande20 2 years ago 11
Good idea but this is not Led Zepplin's KASHMIR it's Ben Lacey's CASHMERE (his spelling - not mine)
bluffcityproductions 2 years ago 15
You should put one up spelled Led Zep's way to get more views imo..

@bluffcityproductions The song was written by Page/Plant/Bonham, and is still titled "Kashmir", no matter who covers it.
