@jakylili Hello, i can answer your question. I live in Vienna and we have this kind of public bike sharing for about 10 years now i believe. The first system to borrow the bike was to put a regular coin into a locking device so you can drive it away and bring it back to an other bike station. Doesn't work at all, the bikes ended up in the river or just got demolished or stolen. Now with the new system you have to insert your ATM(?) card in the bike lockerstation(It's still free). Problem solved.
Yeah, hopefully people don't steal/vandalize the bikes, since that would ruin it for everyone. Too many cars on the road causes a whole lot of problems, especially when 80% of drivers are only going short distances and don't need to carry anything. More cyclists would reduce traffic for those who do drive, so everyone benefits. But there's always some fool who would ruin it for everyone, isn't there?
Good Idea, but it will flop...
