This gives it more of a front kick style, just thrown side ways. if you notice in the video, he raises his kicking foot to the same level of his kicking knee. Then it is thrusted out from there. It is a powerful kick by design, ask Bob Wall, he took one in the chest in Enter the Dragon.
If you did that back-fist stuff to Chuck Liddell, you might get rocked by his right hook. But I like Bruce's hook punches. They're similar to Jack Dempsey's hook punches which knocked out a plenty of guys.
But I don't know about Bruce's punching techniques, though. I've never seen him using a long straight cross which is my favorite weapon. And I never use Bruce's back-fist jab from southpaw stance. Because you can get rocked by a long straight cross if you did that to a boxer.

If you really understand Bruce's ideas, you should know that you can never truely be taught or learn JKD. Look into his philosophy about the Martial Arts. There are base level guidelines about how to punch/kick and things, but you can never be taught Bruce Lee's JKD, even Dan Inosanto cannot teach Bruces methods.
Have you ever tested whether your side kick can knock down someone holding a pad like in this video? I never have tried it. But I would like to test it to see whether I'm able to knock someone down with a side kick even if he stands up firmly

Its real. Lee practiced on a custom made 300 lb heavy bag. It was about 3.5 ft in diameter. After practicing on that for some time, moving a man became pretty easy. You can see the same kick in Enter the Dragon against Bob Wall, who is much bigger.
Anyone can reach that sort of technique. Personally, I think the person holding the bag went with the flow. If he had tried to stand still, he would have got knocked back a bit and it'll hurt... obviously lol

lol didnt u know bruce lee isnt as good a fighter as jet li? bruce lee is a brilliant fighter. but he is an average fighter. his movies make him famous. ppl like mas oyama were the real amazing fighters. his fists were harder than sledge hammers. there is a video of him taking down a bull n knocking its horn off

are you retarted? Jet Li couldn't hold a candle stick to Bruce Lee, and he said that. All the stuff that Bruce does in his movies are 100000% real. Bruce Lee is invincible Jet is good too but not nearly as close.

bruce lee could fight and whatever was said about bruce was true, he was called superman, for a man his size he was incredible... bruce could fight chuck liddell isnt the biggest man in the world but he could knok someone out cause he can fight.

Jet Li specificaly said that Bruce could whip him in 2 seconds on an interview. Get your facts straight. Bruce is the Babe Ruth of Martial arts. jeet kune do is not a style it is a concept, that one should be not any one style but the best of all the styles and to use all piratical techniques no matter what there origin. but he did start of studying kung fu then developed and taught the idea of jeet kune do
