  • one of my favourite tag teams ever - they just seemed so scary to a little kid!

  • Slick is an awesome BSer, "what? man what? i haven't seen him in over a month"

Sean Mooney shows a video of The Slickster and The Million Dollar man together that afternoon.

  • I think Akeem has to go to the bathroom.

  • that big fat dude all in blue... wtf is he doing?

  • lol that shit he doing with his arm.2 funny

  • i was there!!

  • holy shit bossman was huge!

  • sound is poor

  • akeem was part of the twin towers twin towers= akeem and big boss man

  • akeem was fucking great i don't care what anyone says, that shake is sooo funny, and the bossman is a legend

  • @CQ1981331

I have to totally agree. Akeem is one of my greatest 'guilty pleasures' from my early WWF following days.

That stuff he did with his hands, and his 'jive' promos he cut as Akeem was definitely LOL material.

I can't think of anybody in recent memory who makes me laugh as much as Akeem's shtick did back in the day.

This promo itself higlights the awesomeness that was 'Akeem'...

  • damn bossman was fat!

  • whats Akeem doing that with his hand for?

  • I wish I had moves like the African Dream, Akeem!

  • cant hear

  • I've been watching WWF/WWE since I was a kid (ie: 30 years ago or so) and there will ALWAYS be a special place in my heart for Akeem...

I can't stop grinning when I see his 'fist pumping' actions, he cracked me up big time.

Apparently Akeem was supposed to be one of the entrants of the 'Gimmick Battle Royal' they had about 4 (or so?) years ago, but apparently he lost weight and the Akeem suit didn't fit him anymore, so he went as the One Man Gang instead. Sad day, I was hoping for Akeem

  • lol @ Slick saying "Ohhh. I misunderstood. You mean THAT Ted DiBiase. I thought you was talkin bout my HOMEBOY Ted where I get my SHOES shined."

Funny thing is, that excuse MIGHT have WORKED, except for the fact that Mooney NEVER SAID "Ted DiBiase" by name. He said "The Million Dollar Man." So there's NO WAY Slick could use that excuse and act like he got confused. lol.

    Great stuff!!

  • Big Boss Man was fat when he 1st came wwf but he shed alot weight and he was the quickest big guy in the ring fans loved him and never held gold but he should be in the H.O.F soon if KoKo B. Ware is in Boss Man,Jake the Snake, Macho Man,Owen Hart,Bull Dog,Warrior,L.O.D. and Paul Bearer should get in.

  • Akeem got ADD

  • What the fuck is wrong with Akeem? Does he have cerebral palsy?

  • AS A KID I THOUGHT CHANGING THE ONE MAN GANG INTO AKEEM THE AFRICAN DREAM WAS THE FUNNIEST THING I EVER SEEN UNTILL LATER WHEN I STARTED PAYING CLOSER ATTENTION TO THE FINER DETAILS OF WRESTLING & YOU GOTTA ADMITT.... IT'S ENTERTAINMENT........

  • What the hell was Akeem supposed to be? moving around like that the whole damn time? Was he suppose to be a fool?

  • 1989 royal rumble i have that on video Big john Stud won *boo hoo*

  • lol he moves are so fn funny lol akeem the african dream.

  • akeems moves are just tooooo priceless

  • u think Akeem is just constantly hearing music in his head?

  • Akeem, possibly the greatest African-American wrestler in history.

  • This is back when you had to have personality to be a wrestler. No one in this scene has ever stepped foot into a gym and they're "awesome"!

  • @MrHenryrules I mean the first scen with slick and the dream.

  • Big Boss Man, however, was very agile for a 357-lb man. So was Bam Bam Bigelow...

  • ياهو والله أحمد الغمراوي اللي يرقص على اليسار

  • Akeem vs Saba Simba, or Akeem vs Kamala, would've been interesting encounters for sure.

  • Nonono, a triple threat match with Akeem, Saba Simba and Kamala! :)

It would be SO wrong and SO un-PC and just a wee bit racist...which would automatically make it the greatest match in the history of the WWF/E :)

  • And the most Racist matchup in the History of the WWF, they actually had a Simba/Akeem fued planned in 1990 I think it was, but Akeem left before it could go down, LOL

  • They were also on opposing teams for the 1990 Survivor Series: Simba on "The Alliance" with Nikolai Volkoff and the Bushwhackers; Akeem on "The Mercenaries" with Sgt. Slaughter and the Orient Express. Both were replaced by Tito Santana and Boris Zhukov respectively.

  • @fivebearrugs Really? I didn't know that? I knew Akeem was replaced by Zhukov, but I didn't realize that Simba was an original member of The Alliance team, but was replaced by Tito? That's news to me, thanks for the info. Peace.

  • There might even be a promo ad for it in the November 1990 issue of WWF Magazine. My first ever issue was *December* 1990, and they have the full report in there, with the replacements (Haku/Rude and Santana and Zhukov) Photoshopped (yes, I know there was no PS in 1990...I think) in the team photos.

  • @fivebearrugs Wow, the first issue I ever had was October 1990 w/ LOD on the front cover. What a coincidence, Ha, I don't remember seeing that team photo in the November issue,or else I never got that one, can't see now, cuz sadly I lost every mag that I had collected from 90 to early 95, I quit watcing until late 96, then started up buying them again w/ my brother who was into it by that time as well. It sucks to lose all those mags.

  • i thought you was talkin bout ted where i get my shoes shined LOL!!!!

  • bossman looks like an 350lb version of my uncle danny

  • LMAO.

  • I love Akeem the African Dream! He's such an off the wall character. And that dance he does right troughout is hysterical......I wonder how many takes of this interview it took before they could get through without cracking up laughing??? I commented this to someone the other day that each of the wrestlers at this point in time up until around 2000 had their own gimmick and they were distinct from everyone else whereas now some wrestlers seem almost interchangable.

  • I would like to see Akeem and Slick make a cameo in WWE one of these days!

  • lol awesome

  • Akeem loosks like he walked out of a "Sweatin to the Oldies" video!

    Worst gimick ever in WWF.

  • It's an awesome gimick

  • Akeem made more sense when he was One Man Gang from Chicago. He had that mohoawk and whatnot. Was runner up in the first Royal Rumble .

  • 2 fine physical specimens? LOL

  • Watch this with the sound off and pretend the Akeem and Boss Man are high out of their mind on meth or tripping balls, preferably if you are high yourself.

  • Damn Akeem Looks Like A Big Ass BlueBerry In That Suit!! lol XD

  • RIP Ray "Big Boss Man" Traylor!!!

  • Akeem is so funny. I hope Vince bring him back :D

  • Someone should tell One Man Gang that black people don't move and dance like that! LOL

  • sure they do lol

  • Not all of us. LOL

  • LOL @ Koolazzmike... yeah, Akeem is 457 lbs and stands at about 6'8", 6'9"...I'd rather live. :)

  • slick was a crackhead

  • THis video rules! I mean it, exactically!

  • lol i remember akeem use2 always do those weird dances

  • Look at the look on Big Blob Man's face at 47 seconds.. awesome

  • At the 1:42 mark you can notice Akeem looses focus, but look at his comeback at 1:46....Brilliant

  • Love it!

  • @davey1boy

akeem the african dream is/was the coolest man to ever walk this earth!!!!

  • This is the best part of the 1989 Royal Rumble.

    Akeem's dance is just LOLOLOLOLOLOL!

  • Does any 1 know the entrance song Akeem used at Wrestlemania 6

  • It´s from the Wrestling Album 2 "Piledriver".

Song is by Slick - "Jive Soul Bro"

  • omg i can sit and watch akeem do that stupid dance and cry laughing all day. the african dream, who came up with this gimmic, classic!!!

  • Slick walking into frame saying "whassup man, whassup brothaaaaa" has been burned into my brain since this originally aired.

  • turn the fucking sound up

  • bossman really was a bit of a fat cunt in the 80's - Fantastic stuff from Slick

  • Fuck u Bossman was awesome!

  • that's right! I always wanted 2 meet'em as a kid. I've met Akeem & SLick B4, but RIP BossMan since we've lost'em

  • No, you described yourself, Traylor was always great...

  • There is a point in the clip where Akeem gets tired of fist pumping. But once realizing it he comes back with a fury of fist pumps. LOL

  • Akeem 4 President of Africa , Brotha!

  • Akeem looks like supersized Burt Reynolds.

  • Big Bossman looks back at Akeem and looks like he almost cracks up at the way Akeem moves his arms around

  • Why did the Million dollar man to slick about dodgy shit in front of the camera and the referee dude?

  • This fool, he does not looking no wrestling mamager he look like damm Kansas City Pimp

  • lol

  • Will you please re-upload this awesome clip louder sound.

  • i know how great!
