he apparently disappeared during his first leave and bieksa and craig heimsinger went to his house after a game in edmonton and bieksa brought him back to his house in vancouver to live with his family its very sad it seemed like a lot of people cared for him and he seemed to be a great guy its too bad he obviously had his problems RIP #37
never was a hockey fan, just was watchin hockey fights..but i woulda been a fan of this guy. had so much heart and fought anybody no matter the size. r.i.p warrior
He seemed so positive about his future. I think it can only benefit his struggle for people close to him to disclose what really was going on. I have battled depression for a long time but for a guy to commit suicide like him and with how well he seems in this interview something really must of been untold in his story. Rip rick you really were a soldier and a hero in hockey.
@rluongo19 So true, i cant imagine what emotional demons he battled and it must have been super hard to commit suicide when you havea loving family and a bright future. R.I.P Rypien <3
Would've loved to have seen you here next season in a Jets uniform. Seems like a great opportunity and that you were acheiving what you worked so hard for for so long. You accomplished a lot more than I have with my life. But with an opportunity like that comes just as much pressure. I'd never blame or judge you bc I know that no matter your support group or success, with depression and in my case SA as well, you're always alone and all the healthy ppl around u can't quite understand. RIP man.
this is such a sad interview as he really did seem to be feeling better..but,i know what it is like to have a mental illness(i am bi-polar) one day you feel great then suddenly, you are overwhelmed and feel depressed..there is no easy answer...RIP Rick...
we miss you buddy. RIP.
