  • he just could of used the stone or his dad i mean cooooome on

  • This anime has such a perfect ending, too bad we didn't see what Edwards kids name were and if Al married May, this was such a great fucking series, too bad it was only 64 episodes.

  • @UwanahSasuke100 If that happens, it will be another story but it'll be interesting

  • Edward gave the truth the right answer. Who needs alchemy when he has love for others as they have love for him, therefore humanity which father lacked. Ed learned the hard way that being able to do alchemy without a transmutation circle did not make him a god just give him an assumption that he is god. He learned humility hence conquering his own arrogance and embrancing humanity. He realised alchemy causes problems as well as solving them.

  • @yettigod In other words class, God made him learn the hard way.

  • @ironshadow89 exactly as life is hard

  • Edward didn't taught me alchemy like I wanted... But he did taught me something... Who needs power when you have love...

  • Mr Gorilla xDD

  • HEY YOU HAVE DONT HAVE IT RIGHT WATCH THE FULLMETAL ALCHMEST MOVIE SO FUCK YOU ALL

  • @fireslycrew ??? it's what edward said, his last transmutation. even if it's not really his LAST.

  • Why did that guy (in the gate) sound like edward when he was disapearingg?!

  • @KuroWings41

"All is one, and one is all."

  • @foxdemon0 That doesn't help me! Straight answer please!

  • @KuroWings41

The guy in the doorway is "the universe" or "God" or "the truth". He is also "All", meaning he is everything in existence. Therefore, he is also Edward

  • what episode is this?

  • ;n; **bawling**

  • fmab is good in both dub and sub but i do enjoy dub more

  • Who's the little girl he couldn't save (his mom?!?) ? Haven't seen the anime yet :)

  • @TheThejigsup Nina she was like his little sister a Shou Tucker's daughter

  • @AnimeBackwards thanks :)

  • @TheThejigsup Some little girl was transmuted by her own father into a half dog chimera so he could retain his alchemy license into chimera research. Scar later kills them both.

  • @Nyrufa The little girl's name was NINA. It was so sad Q~Q

  • @khrocksforever Sad? I've seen people draw pictures of both her and her father's chimera forms having sex. Let that thought haunt your dreams at night.

  • @Nyrufa WHAT!? NOOOO!!!! WHAT THE MOTHER HELL!!!!!!!!

  • @LuxVeraUmbra thankyou

  • who needs alchemy when you have duct tape :D

  • @QwertMC Omg wow dude. :D Even though this is probably true.

  • Someone tell me this when the white man says Ed will never be able to do alchemy again does he mean ever?

  • @ODSTwarrior1 Every person has a gate and the gate is the source of all knowledge of alchemy. So by getting rid of his gate Ed gave up his ability to use alchemy forever.

  • ಥ ̯ ಥ

  • atleast ed looks taller than al now.

  • SOMEBODY GET AL A FUCKIN' CHEESEBURGER. PLEASE. :U

  • he could make some nice weed out of alchemy c:

  • @SRB2Pheonix Okay... WHAT THE HELL?

  • @xShadowTriforcex and Hikaru Hitachiin!

  • can i find this in japanese?

  • Holy shit, Mustang is blind?

  • @YTsucks300 Pride and Wrath forced him into a human transmutation circle and forced him to open it and see the truth which made him lose his eyesight.

  • @YTsucks300 but don't worry he gets his eyesight back! :))

  • hell yeah!!!

  • so edward lost his portal to beat the truth, but how did he get back his brother?

theres nothing to replace with his body.

  • @tkunnnn He sacrificed his ability to use alchemy in exchange for his brother's body. Keep up my boy.

  • @tkunnnn he sacrified his gate of truth in exchange for his brother

  • "take it its a phelosophers stone!" omg its death the kid!!

  • Every time! Sobbing like a child!!!

  • I was crying watching it! Ed and Al are AMAZING!!!

  • An its funny how winry actually does cry tars of joy at the end cause I remember she had said that the only time she is going to be crying for them is wen they get there bodys back....

  • If you guys think this is great just wait till you see the amv

  • Ed actually is not going to lose his powers cause he is going to learn a different technique that is why he says in another episode he is leaving to learn another type of alchemy ...

  • @LilBrezzy554 Probably Alkehestry from when he goes to Xing.

  • @LilBrezzy554 No he doesn't in the final episode he leaves and says he is going to go study it then bring the notes back and share them with Al.

  • What's the name of the song when Edward gives up his Gate of Truth?

  • i think

English dubbing sucks is to shit i don't like this dubbing

  • @FullMetalFankaPL agreed, i guess -.- sounds kinda dumb here 0.o

  • @FullMetalFankaPL Weaboo.

  • is it just me or is this the only anime that sounds better in english dub

  • @123ecchi123 Finally, someone actually says what everyone else is thinking!!!

  • @KateSchweissmann hahahahahaha

  • @123ecchi123 there also dragonball z

  • @SynchroUEHLNFX you think that Dragon Ball Z sounds better in english than in japanese??? DBZ english dub is horrible, and so is the french one, i just can't decide which one is worse...I would have never liked DBZ if i wouldn't have watched it in japanese, i hated it before..

  • @123ecchi123 the only voice that annoyed me was the homunculus in the flask's voice.

  • @123ecchi123 still prefer jap but english dubbers did a great job

  • @123ecchi123 Cowboy Bebop. Go check it out

  • @Rissako ok

  • @123ecchi123 outlaw star and yuyu hakusho as well

  • @123ecchi123 English dub of Hellsing is amazing. More because it has good voice actors and is set in England so it's very fitting. :)

  • @123ecchi123 This AND Baccano! :)

  • @123ecchi123 it's just you

  • @123ecchi123 No, there's also Code Geass. If you haven't seen it yet you should. It rox. :D

  • Wow That was a Very Powerful Episode!!!

  • at 0:58 isn't the wrog arm to have scars on it??

  • @TIAtheHUNTER It's backwards so it doesn't get caught by the content filters I guess.

  • @JKaos

Yep I realized it as soon I posted the comment XD

  • I would pay to see may's face when she sees Al

  • I love when Truth's voice becomes Eds and his smile isn't a troll face nomore. :D

  • Hoenheim: Because I'm his father.

    Ed. O_O

  • Comment removed

  • @mongoose8316 lol yeah

  • Someone please get Al some clothes now. o_0

  • He is no longer the Fullmetal Alchemist.

He is now the Halfmetal Normal Person.

  • @mongoose8316 LOL!

  • This proves that English dubs of anime is getting better and better

  • wow that was easy if he knew that from the beginning he could have brought his mom back. Now anyone can bring their loved ones back as long as they are willing to give up their alchemy powers.

  • @2shadowgamer2 No, Trisha actually died, therefor her ceased to exist. Al lost his body and soul through transmutation, so he was transported to the gate.

  • @EmberTwistt But isn't losing your soul and body the same thing as dying?

  • @2shadowgamer2 Al didn't die per se, because he was lost through alchemy instead of natural causes. His "death" was from human transmutation, and because his body was the toll it was sent to void where it became a part of his truth, whereas his soul was locked in the gate because it didn't have anywhere on Earth to return to. Trisha died due to reasons unrelated to human transmutation so she wasn't sent to the gate, and her spirit is irretrievable.

  • @2shadowgamer2 I don't think that was the point. I think his ability to use Alchemy made him arrogant because he thought he could solve everything with alchemy. I'd say it was a big learning moment and very powerful.

  • 4:38 that sentence ruined the whole situation :( ( i dont know if he said something like this in the jap dub,I dotn remember it though but knowing he would come back....took the tension :/)

  • If you listen at the end one of truth's voices is edward's. This symbolizes that ed has beaten his own arrogance.

  • anuone kwnow the name of the song of the final part, when they are leaving to the door?

  • So freaking sad T_T I loved this episode so much I really cried during the whole thing because this was the LAST episode EVER (so far as we know)

  • Surely he'd just need to use up SOME of his Gate? The Gate is extremely large and powerful, so only a portion of it would be needed, right?

  • @PostApocolyptica The point is he was willing to give up ALL of his alchemy for his brother.

  • This dub is absolutely incredible! Seriously, Vic, you are a SAINT!!!!

  • Probably the one and only time that "Truth" will ever be at a loss for words...

  • Haha, the "Truth" kind of reminded me of a game show host congratulating the winning contestant at the end XD

  • I need alchemy..i dont have them.

  • Most badass scene in anime ever.

  • This was the biggest spoiler evah for me. Biggest evah!

  • I love how the creators (<-sudden mental blank on names) could still add a li'l humour in a very serious moment, when Ed says: "Zampano, Mr Gorilla, Briggs Soldiers...." (lol, lol, Mr Gorilla XD)

  • i love how throughout the whole series, "truth"'s smiles are always sinister, but when ed gives him the right answer, you can see that "truth"'s smile is genuine and he's happy

  • @bob123789456 "Truth"always has the epic trollface when taking someone's body or parts of it. lol He did seem happy in the end though

  • i didnt expect edward would trade his alchemy for al

  • ed is smart

  • Damn those Alchemists and their perfect circles

  • why after this ed could not use alchemy anymore? sorry but i haveent finished watching the series:/

  • @happygaby1000 It's said in this video -.- The gate/portal of truth contains all knowledge/ abilities to do with alchemy. By giving it up you're giving up all your abilities in alchemy.

  • oh my god :'] watching this reminds me of how much i loved fma..i think il re watch it now...that didnt just pull on my heart strings, it ripped them out fma is the best anime ever

  • Edward Elric... won the game

  • I loved this scene...its soo sweet! Ed starts as just an imature little kid but grows into a great man who is slightly taller than when he started out. <333 THUMBS UP IF YOU LOVE ED!!!

  • ,,I'll be back in a few minutes'' <---that pretty much spoiled everything, good thing I watched jap dub first.Back then I thought he would sac himself.

  • and to think it was that easy all along what a bitch lol

  • That's what I call brotherly love!

  • I prefer this ending by FAR!

  • i watched the end and i feel better im not upset anymore

  • Id rather have ed die than al i dont care if any of u think its mean als my favorite character

  • damn , dubbed FMAB is really bad...

glad I watched it with original audio

  • @jerfimuzumaki you nigger.....

  • @sinshiro wtf?

fuck you , fat ugly bastard.

go feed your cat , you moron.

  • @jerfimuzumaki when i bring you down to my level I win :D

  • @sinshiro your level?

    what level is that?

  • @jerfimuzumaki Troll level... If you feed them, you lose.

  • i feel horrible since i watched this after skipping like 20 something episodes and i didnt know a thing that wass going on AT ALL.

  • doesn't al look a tad umm... anorexic?

  • @XXLinkXXZeldaXX well what do u expect? he hasn't eaten in 4 years.

  • @Alexa10423 actually he has both ed al body were connected by blood every thing edward did he was doing for both bodies eat, sleep ,grow etc thts why edward isnt as tall as he should be

  • Fullmetal Philosophist

  • beautiful

  • .........it can't be the end......... :'(

  • when ed started to cuss at his dad i cried my eyes out!

  • poor poor mustang....well people lets look at the bright side! at least he wont be able to see all the women he dates! littrally....not saying it as a bad thing i waz actually really sad when he went blind

  • awwwwwwwwwww ed called him father thats so moving i wanna cry know~

  • Does anybody know the name of the theme that plays when Ed defeats truth?

  • i love how no one ever mentions that Adonai is the centerpiece of an atheist's portal. or that the tetragramaton follows suit...

  • Can someone please tell me how colonel mustang lost his sight?!?

  • @Fiestar2897 have you watched FMA:Brotherhood? >___>, i'll tell you anyways:

he was forced to do a human transmutation, when someone does that, they'll have to give something in exchange, and what it took away from him is his sight.

  • @Fiestar2897 He was forced to open the portal of truth by wrath and pride so that father could have his 5th sacrifice.

  • He sacraficed his own powers to save someone? Would anyone do that?

  • @TheMysticCore if the person deserves to be saved, i would.

  • In truth's last line he sounded exactly like ed except with an echo.

  • this made me so sad

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww im Crying

  • This scene encapsulates why i like this better than the original. Edward did not change AT ALL in the original. He started out as a hot tempered kid with a god complex and ended like that. Here he starts like that. He thought his alchemy put him on the level of a god. That changed when Nina died and soon he learned to lean on others like roy and the chimera. Him losing his alchemy was more of a side effect in the original and did not have the intended symbolism of ed learning humility.

  • @TestMonkey254 I could not agree more with you. Yet, some people don't get it like we do... sigh... they are so blind, just like Original anime Ed...

  • "What do you mean lower myself? That's all I've ever been: a simple human who couldn't save one little girl, not even with Alchemy..." :'3 You go, Ed!

  • @TestMonkey254 I want to say, I disagree. I think he starts as so immature, which is funny, but then as he grows he learns to take the high road on some fights. This series is more serious, which I find so spell binding and disappointing. I miss the humour but I'd be lying if I said I didn't love brotherhood as much as the original. I think him losing his alchemy means that he loves everyone else more than just being able to preform alchemy. I just wanted to say that.

  • @TestMonkey254 Ed did change in the original anime. Watch it again. Even the other character talk about how much he's grown.

  • @TestMonkey254 The same development occurs, the difference being that at the end of Brotherhood it's surmised in exposition.

Brotherhood's grand finale isn't as poetic as the original series', although I personally prefer the way Brotherhood's narrative concludes.

  • @Damon242 In my opinion it's the other way around the original they all talk about how much ed has grown but here they showed us. His giving up his alchemy showed that he was humble now. Telling us not showing us was a huge problem i had with the original especially on the part of dante and hoeinhiem who's motivations were rushed.

  • @TestMonkey254 I was referring more to him explaining his motivations in this scene. In both versions though we clearly get to see that Ed is willing to sacrifice himself, though I found it more gut-wrenching in the original that his sacrifice meant never (at least until the film) seeing his brother ever again.

I prefer the Brotherhood ending because I think it works with the narrative more for these characters, who have all gone through so much, to have a happy ending.

  • @TestMonkey254 I agree that Dante's motivations were rushed. The entire original series just had issue with the third act, perhaps overwhelmed by the mythology they had. It was very hit and miss.

  • @TestMonkey254 I can understand what they were going through, and they didn't have any other choice but to take it in their own direction. But I think that if the manga had been finished while the original series was being produced, and they were able to follow the anime through to manga's end, then it would have made for a version superior to either of these.

  • @Damon242 Dante's set up was great I mean she could have been some Shakespearean villain she could have been a grieving mother that went overboard after she lost her son and husband but we are never shown any of it although i do adore the 2003 series.

  • @TestMonkey254 At the same time though, it is comforting knowing that once you've finished one series there's a whole other one to engage in.

  • @Damon242 I think the ending would have been more poetic without the movie or even if it killed edward off because the story would have been tragic.

  • @TestMonkey254 A tragic ending would definitely have made it a Shakespearean outing.

I found Bradley's end in the original series the most poetic.

I think you may be right about not having the film involved.

  • @TestMonkey254 And the true meaning of humanity...

  • Who even needs alchemy when I've got them? love that line
