I did a Study Program in Bakau, The Gambia and i use to love to hear the beautiful Kora music. Coming from an African American it was something that spoke to my soul and brought on emotions that I didn't know that I had. I heard a guy in the NYC playing one in the subway. I had to take him out to lunch it was such a sound that always beings uncontrollable tears of Joy
hI jALI THIS IS jIMMYS SISTERINLAW RENA, I THINK YOU ARE A WONDERFUL MUSICIAN. I WISH YOU A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE. I HOPE TO BUY A KORA EVENTUALLY. TAKE CARE BYEEE
Saw Jali play a year ago today in Manchester. Still busting out his paradise songs tonight. I bought one of his CDs, but he had another one. He's super talented, he really is. If it wasn't for my friend I would have sat in the centre of Manchester for the whole afternoon listening - it's that good. People all around me stopping and listening - it might have well been a minutes silence. I would consider travelling to Manchester just to see him busk (I live in Bristol).
Just been listening to this chap in Piccadilly Gardens now, actually...
It's fascinating to just stop and listen, while watching the rest of the world bustle buy. Such a mesmerising, entrancing, beautiful sound. A real fountain of solace in the rush of the city.
Just bought a Kora in a carboot sale in UK (£25, is that cheap??) and are having a fantastic time tuning it, playing it, even with a violin bow and sharing it with 6 little children. Long live the Kora , long live live music
i watched this guy a month or so ago when me and the wife went shopping in manchester and he was bloody amazing, he had a cd for sale, needless to say i purchased one from him.
he is just on the edge of piccadily gardens, he sits in the doorway next to the halifax.

Cette musique m'emmène ailleurs à chaque fois que je l'écoute..je la trouve mélancolique, belle et douce.
Si fière d'appartenir à cette culture..Do not forget ur roots.

You're a world artist, UK artists do not stand a chance there, try a different city if not country.
