I just caught a giant black sea bass using this knot! Thanks for the video! We had to beat it over the head with one of those little bats you buy in the fishing store because it was so damn huge and it was flopping all over the place. I can't believe the bass had that much fight even after 3 guys gaffed it just to get it on the pier! This is by far the greatest thing ever! Now there's something you don't see everyday.

I have always tied a palomar on everything, but I'm trying to expand my fishing horizon. Only to be a better average fisherman. Great vid. lol...i knoe this technique for a long time now.....i used this technique for monkeyface eel fishing....and believe meh i didn't learn it from here...or anywhere i just happen to do it myself....yep...when your stuck with a 40lb line with a small size 4 titanium hook with small eye ring...you just gotta make the impossible possible...knoe what i mean..haha...but anyways very good advice for those who don't knoe this snelling hook technique

This is the best snell demo I have seen. What is cool about snelling a hook-especially a circle hook, is that you can get away from using wire or cable-which I truly believe fish avoid. Snelled circle hook goes straight to the corner of the mouth and mono leader avoids sharp teeth.

snells on your hook wont move so when you go to set the hook the pressure is more on the shank of the hook rather than the eye. Also when the fish picks up the hook the knot wont move from the center of the eye to the side of the eye as palomar can do in some cases. plus in some types of snells if you hook into a toothy fish if it bites through a wrap you still have the other wraps as backup and a knot on the eye get cut at a point wil most of the time break the knot it self.
