  • Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Rules

  • i have my repsect for everyone who does Jiujitsu, no matter where u train at, it's the same thing, but the style is different, i met Cassio a couple of times out of the gym and he's really amazing guy, really humble and i got my respect for him

  • HIP HOP , MUITO MANEIRO, SHOW DE BOLA

you can have strong kicks.BJJ have a lot of leg locks to break your legs.BJJ rules:)

  • nice!

  • whats the move at 2.07?

  • 23 people that disliked this were choked out

  • what's the name of the song ?

  • song ?

  • Very impressive amazing Jits

  • uhmmm i dont think wrestling and jujitsu have really any thing in common... they are pretty diffrent wrestling you want to avoid being on your back... in jujitsu that just opens part of a very big game.. wrestling ends with a pin or shoulders pin..jujitsu it isnt over until its over you tap your oppnent or just put them out... jujitsu is very dominant on the ground and most bjj guys could beat a wrestler... dont get me wrong both great one for sport one for fighting and self defence..

  • @northwestbomber that does not make much sense what you are saying, because wrestling and jiu jitsu have alot in common, they are both grappling, just like judo or catch wrestling and alot more. unless you are talking about the japanese jujitsu.

but having good wrestling will help your jiu jitsu alot.

  • @northwestbomber you are very...very wrong, when a guy wrestles all 4 years in highschool and then comes to jiujitsu, after a few practices when they start sparring, they get to sidebody and you CANNOT get them off....(I've been there) second of all, jiujitsu is a form of wrestling, you must accept that because wrestling counts for all ground work, its being very ignorant and close minded to think most bjj guys can beat a wrestler...NO

  • @OffspringFTW65 alright i was wrong to insult wrestling.. what i should of said is yes they are similar but very diffrent at the same time... they both are ground grappling yes that is true.. but they are still diffrent yes there are parts where they are similar.. but at the same time there is huge gaps in one another which set them apart... and yes wrestlers are better then most new people to jujitsu.. but soon they will be equal its a art and a ton of diffrent technique...

  • @northwestbomber why dont u just put it simply...brazillian jiujitsu focuses on submitting, wrestling focuses on takedowns and controlling top position...But honestly brazillian jiujitsu is just a form of submission wrestling....the romans actually, like alexander the great n shit, have some recorded footlocks that they taught for combat, and just think of how old this world is....people were probly doing armbars back in the Moses era...its not that advanced

  • @OffspringFTW65 well you can look at it anyway you want... but jujitsu is jujitsu and wrestling is wrestling.. that right there is what it is yes like i said similar but yet very diffrent.. and for saying its not advanced uhhhh well there is more to a arm bar then pulling..hahaha but the fact is that they are very diffrent and well you have your opinion and what you think and i have mine...

  • @northwestbomber actually an armbar is simply a lever...the hips being a fulcrum, the arm ofcourse being on the fulcrum.....and its like a seesaw, but since neither side goes up, but the fulcrum goes up, it breaks.....We learned shit like this in middleschool, jiujitsu IS simple, it was intended to be SIMPLE because people that overthink it will never become good, you know, the people that ask shit like "well where should my pinky be?" for every move.....they wont be good...Roger Gracie= simple

  • @OffspringFTW65 if bjj is so simple why do fighters train so hard and take so long to learn the techniques its ust like every martial art it takes time and experience try doing an arm bar on some1 with experienceand see how simple it is

  • @smeargut because people add to the sport, ok let me rephrase this..BJJ is a tree..you have the Gracie jiujitsu stuff that is high percentage, that is simple, but expected which is the Main Stump/Stem of the tree. Then you have the 50% moves that people will learn when they r like blue belts and purple belts nshit. Then you have the unexpected moves that rarely work (the leaves), cuz there r soo many factors in their success..brown belts use these..but in the end, black belts use Simple chokes...

  • @smeargut plus, fighters train so hard to have that small advantage....They train, just to make it their natural instinct.... I mean, all that shit like scorpion crunches and bicep slicers that work in No-Gi dont work in Gi.....And honestly, I feel that No-gi is more of submission wrestling than Brazillian Jiujitsu...Brazillian Jiujitsu was intended for the gi, so then when its no-gi people start making rubber guard for grips...Bjj is very simple, and if u need an example watch roger gracie!

  • @uzamaki32 its called a toe hold

  • @uzamaki32 its called a toe hold

  • nah i have no idea what wrestling is just been doing it for 7 years.a lot of the best bjj and mma guys have good wrestling, that is what separates them from the rest.if you only compete in bjj and sub grappling and both fighters are equal level the fighter with better wreslter will usually win because of the takedowns and scrambling ability.

  • 2:04 so sick whats the name of the submission?

  • if you want to be good at bjj then you gotta train with a champ like cassio.werneck he is the best i love this mans school alot!!!!!!!!!

  • THE MUSIC IS Biggie Smalls & Puff Daddy Victory

  • THE MUSIC IS Biggie Smalls & Puff Daddy - Victory

  • never heard of these guys but there all good.wrestling is key i think in bjj and all these guys look like they can wrestle.that black dude glover looks pretty sic.

  • ahhh... now i understand.. at first i thought judo and bjj are the same... but they're not... judo focuses on throws while bjj is on submission.. they work great combined... me and my friends use both( i think, because when we spar we use throws and submission moves) but nothing serious, we spar just for fun, we just copy moves from tv,movies and of course youtube.. its a great exercise physically as well as mentally.. ^_^

  • A bunch of BJJ highlights and fights are at kimuratube com

  • 2:04 is the best so far

  • @lcharsl yeah man, what is the name of the submissioN?

  • @uzamaki32 triangle with leglock. But it was awesome cause he rolled against the momentum.

  • What's the name of this song?

  • @deadmedio Victory- by P-diddy ft busta rhymes & the Notorious BIG

  • 2:05

    Like a spider monkey

  • Dammnn. Werneck school has great talent and vicious finishes. thanks for the upload.

  • you should title it cassio werneck highlight so it isn't misleading, but good video

  • very good video and music

  • what the name of the choke at 0:58 ?

  • @F4me it might be a peruvian necktie im not 100% but i think thats what it is

  • @pulseshock2009 nope it isnt, but thanks for help. peruvian necktie is possible without gi and at 0:58 its a gi choke.

  • The best grapplers in the world are Gi grapplers ... that's a fact. Roger Gracie, the immortal! Jacare, Werdum, Maia ... all Gi grapplers. Grappling without a Gi is fun and awesome, but it's more about cardio and brute power than fighting with a Gi .... technique is king. They're the same, just Gi fighting is more technical.

  • what's that GI you all are arguing about?

  • @PerNyk lol gi's are the suit they wear when fighting or training

  • song name?

  • Great video, thumbs up, what is songs name?

  • sport for Biggies !

  • I LOVE IT.......YOU ARE VERY SPECIAL!!!!!

  • Nice Video!

  • I'm a white belt in my first week of classes, and I am so glad that I signed up. This is a great way to get in shape, make some friends, and learn a thing or two about defending yourself. A lot of people crap on this stuff because they say it's unrealistic, but don't knock it before you try it! It's fun!

  • @hadaway1 dude i dont what you talking about i never heard someone saying something bad about this -.-

  • good video

  • Estilo de vida!

  • is heelhook allowed in bjj ? :o (not that i know)

  • @BeeefMaster

I think that the ankle lock is the only leg lock that white belts are allowed to use.

  • @SergeantUcarn straight ankle locks. Yup

  • 2:05 was sick!!! holy crapp

  • can somebody please tell me who cassio got his black belt from??? its a friggin mystery

  • Alliance BJJ !

  • if you want to be good in bjj you have to do bjj with and without gi. so you get a better technique! i love both!

  • @paul0coronado0 i preffer no gi

  • @paul0coronado0 Ur right about that, but i wouldnt recommend doing both straight away. I still am quite a rookie, on and off training since september, and im just sticking to GI for a time now, until i feel really comfortable in every aspect. I'd like to switch to no-gi then, so i can bring that knowledge and adjust my game with full knowledge of what im doing. but hey thats me :p

  • @paul0coronado0 Not true..............If your good with a gi you can easly convurt to no gi. This is just my experience. However you can make the argument that i wouldnt be used to not having thoes grips, but honestly I only need the gi for stand up on grund i dont really use it. Its a preference. Im only a purple belt so you could be far better. But that is my experience. Sorry beginning sounds a bit rude.

  • @paul0coronado0 I couldn't agree more

  • @paul0coronado0 whats gi

  • @13randonLee the outfit you must wear while learning and competing in bjj

  • @paul0coronado0 me too I prefer gi but also enjoy no-gi.

  • Whats The Name of the First Song"?

  • really dude? you dont know victory by the nortorious big?

  • so you think pinning someone's more fun than choking them?

  • i think wrestling is more fun because the point system allows for more exciting, faster paced matches. but yeah, choking somebody is fairly rewarding

  • Ya I hear what you're saying. It's very exciting if you know what you're doing/watching. In the Army, they teach us combat-oriented grappling (essentially bjj with strikes, knives and other fun stuff), so that's what I've been doing for a while now. Personally, I like it because it's more practical. But I see where you're coming from.

  • then judo is for yuo both wqrestling and juitjitsu

  • I don't know why you got so many thumbs down, you're allowed to like one sport more than the other. Personally, I like sub. grappling (no-gi) more than any other sport . But I also like MMA, kickboxing, wrestling, judo etc...

  • always wanted to try judo

  • I want the name of the song

  • Never heard of em before..........IMPRESSIVE!!!!!

  • nice

  • I started training with 14, now I'm 16 and I am blue belt.

    Kezen team from Brazil

  • i'm turning 21 soonish and started BJJ a month ago - in my gym you can start training at age 16. There are people younger and older than me. There's no time like the present. Start training now, you can still be great.

  • what's the title of the song in tthe first part of the video?

  • P diddy.... victory

  • faber is pro now lol

  • Indeed its never too late to start learning it. Hell man, I'm 21 without a fighting background. The only thing I have going for me is my commitment. I just recently started BJJ, and im fucking loving it.

Like said before me : Be humble, patient, and show ur eager to learn.

Just put a goal in front of you : getting a colour takes a nice and long time, say ull go for ur blue belt ( which will take 1-3 years ) once uve got that ;p fuck man .. ull never stop ;D

  • Spider guard at 5:27 is disgusting!

  • great song and im only 13 and i love this stuff. cept i dont beleave in the gi choke thats just dumb

  • yeah you cant use them in mma but i live in washington. everyone wears sweatshirts and jeans most the year and its just like having a gi. so gi chokes still work in street fights.

  • No disrespect my young friend, but not beliveing in gun violence, won't stop a bullet. Generally the reason someone doesn't like a techneque in any martial art, its because ether 1. They aren't good at it, or they haven't tried. Or 2. They don't understand the aplication, or they belive its not effective. A good reason BJJ is trained in a gi, is to simulate clothing on the street. Its obviously your call on how, or what you train. But its a fact, that gi chokes work well, on and off the street:)

  • the gi choke is just there to learn the concepy of the submission.

  • well then stay away from jiu jitsu becasue thats what its all about.

  • You should do no-gi jiujitsu only then!

  • I'm 26 and about to start bjj with no previous martial arts experience have I left it too late. Any comment on this would be appreciated

  • nah man just do it u can still learn ull just have to push

  • Give it hell man, its never to late to start. You'll just take it more serious as an adult. But BJJ doesn't come easy, it will be frustraiting as hell for a good long while. But be patient, humble, and willing to learn, and you'll do great. Also be sure to do enough research to find a good camp. Then check your pride at the door, and you can't fail... Good luck.

  • there is only one good way to find out :)

  • It's never too late. ;) In my gym most people who start bjj are between 20-30 years (although many have judo background, but not everyone).

  • single leg defense at 2:18 is slick!

  • ok bjj is an extremely good ma, its is what i take and i have had no problem in fights i fought a wrestler and i held my own we fought for 20 min we had to call it a tie, there all good in their own way. just fucking get over it

  • in the begging i love that armbar

just instantly leg on the face

    damn so fast

this whole highlight is damn good

especially the single leg to leglock

  • woohoo ty bjj. i got in a fuckin fight today fishing lol. my friends were at the river and i was in the park and they stole my friends stuff and he yelled to me so i cut them off and knocked one guy down and choked him out :). luckily the other guy was occupied with my friends. ahhh i fell great

  • 2:18

    sick move!

  • wrestling in a component that can be learned in jiu jitsu. that is why wrestlers make good jiu jitsu fighters they're are ahead of the game.

  • Whats the name of the first song?

  • victory-puff daddy feat BIG

  • in the mma game which discipline is the most important to learn? yeah thats what I thought, jiu jitsu.

  • catch wrestling -cough- gracie hunter

  • Did you know He trained BJJ? That is why he can counter it. On top of being an amazing athlete, and Oh The Gracies -cough- could kick your ass

  • no they cant

  • Your so closed minded its pathetic.

  • u dont know me. and no sakuraba didnt train in bjj. stop actint like bjj is the ultimete MA. catch wrestling is effective too even renzo gracie even said so in one of his books. UR the close minded

  • Actually yes He did train in BJJ,Do some research. Of course Catch Wrestling is effective!,any art is effective as long as you have a Good Instructor. I am very open minded,Open minded enough to read up On who has Trained in what. So you put down BJJ,Yet take a Gracies word as ammo to be used against me? You just disrespect them though. So as long as they agree with you,You will take there side. Gah. Ok Bro Nothing against you,I just will take my BJJ any day.

  • not to be arrogant but i havent lost to a bjj guy yet. its all about the fighter personally not the system his using

  • i completely agree. but to a certain extent. if ur oppenent doesent know any ground defense, its most likely over

  • im a blue belt under marcos torregrosa a black belt under cassio werneck and il tap u anyday

  • no u wont

  • Metta17 you honestly think one of the gracies couldnt kick your ass?? You must think a fucking lot of your skills

  • Let him think what he wants.

He won't keep his chin held so high when he gets fucked up by a kimura or a choke some day...

  • and u kiss too much gracie ass.

  • Yeah the gameplan changes when you get punched in the face.

  • almost all ufc fighters know this stuff and half the ppl on that team fight mma

  • Watch ***Kron Gracie vs Sergio Moraes*** vid on my channel!! + 2008 Pan Ams Finals/Interviews (Andre Galvao, Kron Gracie, Rafail Lovato Jr) !!!!!!! SUBSCRIBE/RATE

  • possibly purely at brazillian jiu jitsu, but in ufc, the fighters need to know more than one fighting style.. as where, these ppl purely train in jiu jitsu, a ufc fighter has to train in boxing, kick boxing, a lot of them sub specialize in muay thai, and a lot more

but there are some ppl in ufc ( like bj penn, james wilks, or in older times, royce gracie ) that wud pretty much dominate these ppl

[james wilks might be an over stretch in my part, my bad]

  • uhhh... try telling that to Royce Gracie after he got his ass handed to him by Matt Hughes

  • Royce in his prime would destroy Matt in his prime.

  • royce was 39 when he fought matt hughes....

  • perfect song for this track!!
