Although difficult to tell from a youtube video this young promising singer has got a very dark voice! Definitely not a baritone, not even a bass-baritone or a cantante. He might have had less "pressure" in his lower register and let the tones float out softer. He is young and needs more routine in handling his voice. This piece is very difficult and dramatic to sing! Lighter..yes! rounder..yes! More bel canto..yes!

Very well done especially at his age!

@Yitzhakhazak Absolutely agree with you. He might have pushed through it a bit much. Not in tempo though, he added in quite a few fermate. Very nicely done, though I'm sure he'll sing it much better in a few years.

Littlebit darker then it should be naturally, but this is the part of the slav singing-culture. I don't think it is a problem - just a "speciality". Powerful, bright voice. I hope we'll meet on stage soon :)

This is fabulous singing, for any age. There is a little manufactured darkness, but no more than 99% of professionals. You have a very nice career ahead of you if you keep singing like this. Bravo.

I agree he is putting it on a bit, using the root of the tongue to get false space and bassiness, resulting in some flat notes and over-covering at the top. But what a fabulous talent! Needs to lighten up a bit, send him for a holiday on the Italian Riviera.

This guy does not have as deep a voice as he likes to think, listen carefully to the top and you can hear that if e didnt cover so much he would have a very free and good top.

I agree. His speaking voice at the beginnig is more suggestive of baritone. For 23, the voice is phenomenally sonorous and spacious, but he does cover a bit too much, hoping, I suspect, to sound deeper and more mature.

Are you really 23 years old? If so, wonderful singing and voice (very powerful as well), but do not imitate too much (do you like Nesterenko by any chance?). A bit more focus in your top notes, put some light (a bit over dark) in your voice and it would be perfect.

Seriously, typical ukrainian bass, I stop singing when listen to you. bravo
