Gorgeous dog who has clearly be trained well to deal with this but I imagine most other dogs would be pulling away constantly making this video unrealistically easy
This isn't actual filing of the dog's nails with a dremmel. This is just rounding them off after she's already clipped them to length. If you're just rounding edges you shouldn't need to do any more than she did, and no worries about the quick. If you want to dremmel the nail instead of clipping, then there are other better videos to learn from. :)
Nice video. Thanks for sharing this technique. I use an emery board to file my dog's nails after clipping but can see that the dremel will take far less time.
I use the dremel for both my dobermans, and they are so used to it. Just be careful not to go beyond the quick of the nail as it can make them bleed. The more you work on the nail, the shorter you can get them as the quick hardens and reduces like the nail. Also you can hold the nail a little more rigid once they are used to it and it'll sand more just don't stay too long on any one nail because they HEAT UP and OUCH!
Bed bath and Beyond carries a pet dremmel for $19.99 and it works fantastic. It tells you to hold the toe near the nail to keep it from moving around and injuring the dog. Also to only do a few seconds per nail to avoid burning the quick. I use it on both my dogs and love it. PS. It works better without the orange safety lid, which is a pain in the butt.
what a wonderful tool the dremel is. I would never of thought of using it for filing dog nails. I got mine for polishing metal last week, and its done a fantastic job.
I've been watching a bunch of nail dremeling videos (trying to build up the confidence to dremel my dogs' nails because they're getting pretty long) and this is the first one I've seen that mentions holding the toe loosely, which makes perfect sense. I'd give a higher rating if there was mention about avoiding the quick, which is what I think most people worry about.

If you have no experience, PLEASE use a battery dremil and not electric. The electric will grab the hair and keep going where the battery will stop.

Good tips on keeping the toes loose.
On and unrelated note, you should get the bursitis on your elbow checked out if you have not already.

Probably the most retarded thing I've ever seen. A dremel is a power tool not a canine grooming accessory. There's a reason why it bothers the dog

Actually Dremel makes a rotary tool specifically for dog nail trimming. NOOB!
Rotary tools are multi-purpose. Their uses are only limited by the imagination - which apparently you lack.
