  • he's right about this exercise hitting all 3 heads of the deltoid, and the fact it's a very good mass builder. but all you lot saying 'oh no i wont do that i'll get injured' etc etc. don't try be a meathead and shift weight you can't lift with perfect form, Kevin's form was good and safe in this video and plus he had a spot, and he's on the smith machine, so you'll probably get more of an injury doing heavy dumbbell shoulder press or military press than doing this

  • i dont know why anyone doubts kev, he obviously knows what he is doing hes one of the best bb of all time and

  • I`d rather use a lat pull down machine and exercise my rear delts that way. I find it`s easier for my shoulders to absorb.

    I like the Smith Machine by doing this in the front and sometimes strip sets work wonders for growth.

    I also find pull ups, reverse shrugs and using an inclince bench with DB`s work wonders for rear delts.

  • This is totally not worth it. You get a shoulder injury you're fucked. The shoulder is one of the hardest muscles to rehab and you need to take major time off from the gym..

    I had a shoulder injury, well still do, separated shoulder grade 5, and ive never felt pain while doing this evem now, i got injured while playing football, anatomically we'r very similar, NOT the same, and thats y there r alot of ppl who can vouch for this type of shoulder press, compared to someone who straight out feels pain out of it.

    My tip is, try it, dont feel right, dont do it, simple as that. :)

  • behind the neck presses are really bad for ur rotator cuffs. If you do behind the nexk like 1 times a month ur ok. But if you do them every week ur in for a problem. It a very unnntural position for your shoulder. stick to dumbells and front press. O and i can press like 315 for reps .

    There is a lot of bad information out there, don't trust everything you read. Many people do behind the neck press for years with no problem. Like any exercise, they are safe with proper form.

    I will say this, i have been bodybuilding for a few years and know quite alot, and have trained with many athletes, powerlifters, and bodybuilders...

  • This is a great exercise but take caution , use good form and try not to go to low. I find it painful if i go too low. Great looking delts kevin , keep it up man.

  • Milletary Press on the Smith Machine is very hard on your back... be cerfoul people!! With my own experience the best is to do press with a reguler bar no smith machine if you wanna keep you a healthy back a be able to do bodybuilding your entire life! Better than that is dumbell...

  • they play a huge role in stabilising and supporting, they even get a good workout just doing regular bench press believe it or not, but especially during this movement.

  • bbrs use the belt for most exercises so their abs and obliques dont get too big and ruin their V taper and waist

  • I agree with moebiggz, you obviously don't know what the hell you are talking about.  The purpose of weight lifting belt is to reduce stress on lower back muscles.
