I'd just like to tank you for both this video and the Fox 32 RLC. I kind of knew the information, but it's just good to have it confirmed in an easy to watch / follow video.
@TMTBRider I'm not sure your Fox rear shock has a red "lever". If you mean red dial, then we're talking about the rebound knob. It can easily get clogged with oily gunk/dirt/grit/etc. You should degrease the assembly if this is the case. Then try some light chain lube on the knob. If this doesn't work to free it, then you may be in need of more serious work. Whatever you do, don't reach for a pair of pliers. This knob should turn easily with your fingers.
When it's pulled up, the 1-2-3 knob can spin either direction, and yes, indefinitely. Just make sure that the number of the setting that you want to use is aligned with the blue lever and that the knob is in its locked down position -- it won't spin -- before you take off to ride.
On this RP23 rear shock, the Propedal is on when the lever is towards the air valve. Drew flips it open on the loose shock he uses for the model. When he's measuring the length of the shock shaft on the bike, it is indeed flipped into the on position. However, when he climbs onto the bike to check the sag with the O-ring, the lever is flipped open (away from the air valve). Sorry for the confusion.
To set the shock you said it needs to be in the open position? First you flicked it to the left, but once its on the bike its to the right? Which way is open? Left or right?
@giantbluemarlin; Ideally the O-ring will rest at the very edge of the shock shaft (or get pushed off) at full travel. Your correct setup would have that point be reachable over rough terrain.
i highly reccomend carrying a backup shocks if you run air shocks. IT always wise. Just buy a cheap manitou metel coil shocks and keep it in you're backpack just in case. there only cheap but may save you walking home. i always carry a backup shock on long rides now. if you are going on a long ride its an idea to carry a full tool kit to service ur front shocks just in case. maybe even a spare set of seals and a torque wrench. always be repared to fix any problem you might encounter.
@Lunarlaserranging i always carry my workstand with me on long rides and full Park Toolkit, bottom bracket facing tool, headset press and a wheel truing jig just in case.
Can someone please explain how the factory settings affect the shock? (I'm talking about the compression and rebound tune) - witch were set to the lowest of the three. Also, is the High Volume version any better and what's its intended purpose? Thanks
Very helpful, thanks for that dude.

Nice Ventana! Good video, easy enough to setup, although I don't think many folks spend enough time setting their suspension up properly.

is it normal for the 1-2-3 knob to spin indefinitely in either direction?

Would have been good to cycle the shock and show where the o-ring should sit at full travel.
