Still, the most treasured 8 hours that I have ever experienced was the 8 hours that I got to coach along with Coach T. at an Offensive linemen camp. I am not a particularly religious man, but Iowa epitomizes what compassion can be. Every year you hear about a farmer getting cancer and the entire community harvesting their crop until he is healthy. Every Flood, you hear of companies spending money to clean up and help their competition. Compassion, regardless of faith, can move mountains.
We saw this video at an inservice prior to the new school year! What an amazing man and family. If this does not touch you ....you have no feeling or emotion!
iim from a town 20 minutes out of parkersburg And had the great honor of meeting coach Thomas. nobody deserves this award more than the thomas family and the folks in parkersburg. R.I.P. coach
if this didnt touch your heart then idk what will.. but we need more men and families like this in the world.. Ed Thomas' legacy will live on. i honestly teared up watching this video. this is amazing
I remember the tornado and the shooting. I'm from near Des Moines, However, I didn't know about all of the details about the football team. I just thought it tragic to have the local coach and an F5 tornado wiped out most of the town. That just kind of sucked, I didn't know the role they played in bringing the town back.
Hopefully this is inspiration for the Wadena, MN who recently endured their big tornado.
thanks for the full upload. i've been looking for this all week after i saw it. i heard of this story before that but i never knew the details. i never knew they dealt with a tornado and that the town was so small that everyone knew each other. such a strong family. i really don't know if i could forgive like that....
I live in parkersburg it was an emotional day when coach t died!
