I too enjoy the lore of WoW, but I started playing after WOTLK was released. For me it was enjoyable to find out how older raids played out before new patches were released and the timeline of events in world of warcraft in general. I always wished i could've been part of one of the 40m raids right after release, the raids i did manage to get into people didn't take it too serious.

Blizzard did such a good job with Ulduar. Not only was raiding just mind blowing, but the lore, the architecture and so many things like that make it just out standing. In my mind i don't think many things come close to how great it was. All the later raids sure as hell never did. If blizzard came out with a raid like this again i would activate my game subscription in a heart beat.

i love the courtyard and final room. I wish we knew what blizz originally meant ulduar to be lore wise. (i believe yogg and the faceless ones were originally supposed to be in the AN 3.2 raid) Disapointing..

the door between Vezax and Mimiron originally led to a courtyard in one of the first alpha models of Ulduar. You walked through a stained glass room out to a balcony, where there was the top half of a giant hollow statue. One of the hands was next to that balcony, where you ran up it, through the statue, and out the other end to an otherwise unreachable courtyard with a huge tree in the middle.

Yes, only 80. Though even if you are 80, Ulduar is very hard to do all, but if you are in a an hardcore guild like Ensidia it wouldnt take much. they cleared it in one day

actually, if I remember right -- the quest 'Tirion's Gambit' has a lich king that you are able to attack. He has alot of HP and casts a "I PWN U" spell that instakills you quickly though.
