Note to director--You don't ever shift between cameras that rapidly and from such drastically different vantage points when shooting a dance number. The choreography gets lost and the viewer can't keep up as the dance appears fragmented. The eye has to be able to connect the moves easily as the camera shot switches. That's not possible here and it makes Robbins' masterful choreography and the talents on display seem mediocre when they're anything but.
I hate the costumes they wear in the European casts. And I hate that they're barefooted! I keep looking for a cast that I like, but I still haven't found one from European casts. The woman playing Anita had nothing Latina about her.
Lots of good work here - including excellent ensemble singing. You can hear the chords they are singing, in perfect balance. Choruses who are standing still, should envy that sort of sound.
AyeAiaiii -- What a show! And there's that certain dancer on the end in the shorter ponytail who IS phenomenally fabulous!! Kudos, Rachel O. Phillips! And to think she's a Caribbean chick as well as an excellent dancer-performer. We in Grenada, salute you, chica! Dance on!
