Brony is NOT a unisex term, it is only applied to MALE fans of the show, hence the word BRO in it!. You can look up anywhere and it will say the same thing! MALE FANS!

Just because other female viewers pulled it out of their asses and say its a unisex term, doesn't mean its true. Was it female viewers that started Bronydom? I don't thinks so. Stick with pegasister, women calling themselves Bronies seems Dykish.

@TheAnonymousAgent Thanks for the compliment. Still, I have to respectfully disagree about the brony thing. There have been multiple threads about this on various pony boards and the majority tend to stick with "brony" for all. There used to be a deluge of them. Every time a new person would find a board, they would ask what female FiM fans were. Most other users answered “brony”. I’ve heard pegasister, fembrony (ugh), and a smattering of other things, and I know some girls use them...

...but I’m not partial to using two terms. It’s like calling a group of people, regardless of gender, “guys”. It’s a masculine term, but it can be used for both sexes. Same goes for “bro” and “dude” I’ve heard girls called that all the time IRL.

I will agree that anyone unfamiliar with the fandom might think male (hence all of the media outlets seemingly thinking there are only older male fans of the show), many in the community use it for both.

@TheAnonymousAgent If you require a specfic reference, off the top of my head, I think MLP wiki mentions it being used for both. In fact, a user there makes the same point I just did. Within the fandom, it’s used as a gender neutral term. The mainstream media tends to use it as a male only term, most likely due to the “bro” in it, as you mentioned. Plus it’s more of a story for them if they are talking about men liking it, since it’s not quite as odd for a woman to like it.

If you look, mostly every site made by fans specifically and not the ones doing “How odd!” reports on it, most people will agree it’s unisex. It’s all of the non-pony sites and media that use it as a male only term.

Still, it’s not like it’s etched in stone. Call yourself what you want to. Some people certainly do share your opinion, both men and women.

I personally prefer not to further divide the fandom. It’s already crossing gender lines (men watching a show made for girls), why then put boys and girls back in their corners once past the entrance gate?

Well I said in the video my favorite was Rainbow Dash, but my second favorite is probably Princess Luna at this point, just because of all the fan stuff about her. If we are going purely by show content, however (since Luna got about 10 seconds of screen time not as NMM), second favorite is probably...TWIST!!! Er, wait sorry, that was the insanity talking. It's either Twilight or Applejack, although second place tends to vary on my mood :P

@Neoglitch255 It's basically done. Sitting on my hard drive. Just not sure I like it. Wasn't quite what I wanted since I couldn't actually film in the stores. Might still post it though. I'm considering thinking up some sort of pony show idea to go along with my figure reviews. Maybe a commentary on the season 2 episodes when they come out? I have no idea. May not happen. Still primarily figure reviews, but possibly a pony one here and there.

Neither one is really superior, they are simply different, although there are some shared elements. I think that's true with anything, really. Take things on their own merits, I say :) I like both shows immensely :)
