  • What happened to the other 16 bits?!

  • I can see why people arent so hot for this system considering it was basically an A1200 with a CD drive but I would rather have one of these over any regular amiga for a few reasons:

    1.) No bloody disk swapping!

2.) 100% backwards compatibility if disk based games are required (though external floopy drive needed

    3.) Sheer convenience and size

4.) Playing Guardian with a CD32 pad over the clumbsy keyboard/mouse control and its awesome music is win!

Though dont get a CD32 for FPS...

  • Awesome vid gay song

  • How can run ultimate skidmarks with this speed and fluency?

  • nice games nice amiga

  • AMIGA FOREVER!

  • WTF?,most of these games were not available in the country i live in,damn we missed out big time.

  • sure amiga cd 32 is the first 32bit console?im not sure maybe yes but i think the first 32 bit console is "fujitsu fm towns marty",im not sure really, anyway amiga forever!

  • @gillianx68000

you got it wrong, fm towns featured 386sx cpu, which wasnt 32bit.

  • I have one of these coming soon, can't wait. Used to have an A500+ but look forward to trying some of the CD32 games like Lotus Trilogy!

  • omg ty so much for this vid.

Been trying to remember a cd32 game I loved for ages and low and behold last but not least there it is "Guardian".

    Thank you.

  • u choose a shitty song for this video... fuck I hate creed... 1 star...

  • HAHA I AGREE

  • there shouldnt have been any music at all

  • hmm, why couldn't he just have used the music and sfx from the games... Instead of a shitty Creed song... fucked the whole video up.

  • As much as I like the Amiga, there is not one single game in this video that compares to any other 32 bit system. Every game is decidedly 16bit. Almost all of the games on this system are direct Amiga 500 ports (and some 1200 ports). I don't know if there are any cd32 only games. I have a 1200 with a hard disk and can play probably 100% of the games (actually with my scsi cd-rom, I think I can play all the cd32 games).

  • Microcosm, Little Devil, and Oscar I believe where the only real CD32 exclusives and only Microcosm showed the full cd32 power, shame the gameplay wasn't that good.

  • @amigang Microcosm was also available on the 3DO

  • @HerecomestheCalavera And Little Divil was also on the CD-i, and Oscar on the SNES. So... the Amiga CD32 has no true exclusives?

  • Flink is a CD32 exclusivity

  • @christo930 It's a real shame, and one of the factors that meant it didn't take off. People aren't stupid, they weren't going to buy a system that runs all of the games they already have, or in the case of games like IK+ have had for 5 years already.

On the positive side, as the CD32 had no keyboard and all games were played with a joypad, it's a great system to emulate and play games on today with a modern joypad, especially if you run emu's in an arcade cabinet with no keyboard ;)

  • @mynamesforest Not to mention they were going into a crowded market in the first place. You had the snes, the Genesis, Neo Geo and the Atari Jaguar . They were also losing their edge against the PC and the AGA chipset was too little too late. It's a shame. But you are right, it's a great system to emulate and use proper gaming controls.

  • This thing used a 68020, why was it not more popular? Especially with the later 68030 upgrades! Games like marathon should have been ported to this thing. Bad atari for not marketing this console better.

  • Why would Atari want to market a Commodore product?

  • Amiga is made by Commadore... lamer

  • where i can find these games?? i have only 1 game for the Cd32 :==(

  • Probably your only recourse would be eBay. Amazingly enough, Software Hut's site is still up and they said they had some at one time, but I don't even think they're still in business anymore. I think when they discontinued the AmigaOne, that was the final nail in their coffin.

  • check out rgcd with the British extension on the end...

  • the last game i remember being the last i bought. it was ok but the cd32 magazines were calling it best ever. i think it was the only game they has to review by that point

  • oh i missed those days..

  • HAHAHAHA To think I used to own one of those machines. WOW how graphics have evolved! Now I'm playing Halflife 2 episode 2 on a killer PC. What about Alien Breed Tower Assault? Easily the best game for the CD32.

  • men you rocks !!!!!!! i love vidéo, i love music, and

    I LOVE AMIGA WORLD ! IT'S BEST GAMEPLAY !!!!!!!

  • Damn Sony!

  • More like "Damn Microcock & Bill F$#@$@ Gates!" .. I was at an Amiga Demo party last night and one of the guys pointed out to me that after Gateway 2000 bought the rights to Amiga to keep it going, Microsoft apparently refused to any longer support Gateway with their Windows software if they continued with trying to revive the Amiga. So it was a matter of Gateway continuing and losing about 99% of their current buisness or tell Microsoft fuck you! so they had no choice but to ditch the Amiga.

  • Great made up story you have there... Microsoft does not, I repeat DOES NOT tell hardware vendors that they can't use their OS on their hardware. Gateway never had any intention of marketing the Amiga OS or hardware. It was the dotcom boom and large companies were positioning themselves for "branding" that's all it was and nothing more. It is great to love the Amiga, but keep your head in reality...

  • @blade004 Commodore had killed the Amiga long before it reached the Gateway stage. It's a real shame, they had such a lead on the competition with the A500 and failed to capitalise on it. The C128, CDTV, CD32 and A1200 were all too little too late from Commodore, and too much like recycled hardware.

Jay Miner was a legend, the rest couldn't keep up.

  • Great Vid....it just made me look on ebay for an old one :)

  • I own a cd32 and have a webpage for this system, but I really miss microcosm, roadkill or gloom.

Most of the games showed are only amiga 500 remakes.

But it is good to see jetstrike, maybe the best 2D jet-game ever created.

  • Ahh memories lol. i use to have an Amiga Cd32. You left out Liberation and Microcosm and Novastorm and Alien Breed 3D classic games. Nice vid though :)

  • prey was a nice looking game showed what the cd32 could do it faild because of the lack of original games still have my cd32 and i play prey and guardian and a few others from time to time.

  • that prey game looks incredible!

  • lol wow kid chaos is haggard

  • achh memories chlip chlip

  • u spelled enemy wrong

  • Ahh, that brings back memories. I'd love to see the full UFO introduction again, complete with the bass soundtrack. It's just not got the FEELING on the PC one!

  • love this vid man so needs commenting
