@JulianGardna About italians following the Duce, he took an impoverished nation in the middle of social turmoil, at risk of a communist take over and made it more stable, prosperous and modern until the terrible mistake of entering WW2: this is why most italians of that era supported him.

wasn't a comment to your spelling, I know you can write it in both way and it is wath i meant, you, Anglo-Saxon, dont know exactly how to write it...with or without U, like you aren't used to this word. Was it a joke? maybe you have problem also with humor today and not only with honor....
What a disgrace for italy... reminds me of their tanks during WWII... I forward gear and 5 reverse gears... not to mention the Italian Kamakazi pilot who flew 105 missions
@chrgi We have invented that word, and you still do not know exactly how to write it because you still didn't understand the meaning of....honour or honor? Do not care about, isn't something you need to know or use.
c.1200, "glory, renown, fame earned," from Anglo-Fr. honour, from O.Fr. honor, from L. honorem (nom. honos) "honor, dignity, office, reputation," of unknown origin. Till 17c., honour and honor were equally frequent; the former now preferred in England, the latter in U.S. by infl. of Noah Webster's spelling.
wot was that did you say something oh no you didnt nothing that was true anyhow shhhhhhh in the future less embaresment for ya
@4m3rcanidi0t oh yea and as for me well i am british and i served in the army and was in bosnia helping others can you claim any such honour? i maywell not be the most honorable i am a damnsite more honorable than this captain and well allot of other LIKE HIM.
@4m3rcanidi0t and before you start picking up on spelling why dont you look at the grammer and the construct of your retort as it is well how do i put this redundant of all knowledge for the english dialog.
@chrgi I bet my English is better than your Italian anyway, I do not need to present myself to you and I dont know what kind of soldier you are in the British Army, but as a Folgore Parachutist I can say you are not like some British one I had the HONOR to fight with.
@4m3rcanidi0t look i never said i spoke any italian why would i there is no point for me to speak italian? and its funny how you compile this retort as it was you who presented yourself to me with a coment about my spelling of english words which i have already shown you that you were inacurate in doing so fistly u personalised this i dont know you i told you of the other inacuracy of myself having no honour. i asked wether you can claim such honour and it seems you can i salute u
@4m3rcanidi0t at leaste i have the honour of not making this as you seem to want to make it and thats personal. and info for ya every soldier is different with one thing in common and you should know that
@chrgi And clearly it wasn't my intenction to teach english but just to give a message, you are representative of UK lke someone else here for US and like Schettino for Italy, zero or less. You message could be used by wikipidia to define the word Ignorance.
We hate people, and more soldier, like you...using "honour" like marmalade...the less you have, more you spread it.
@4m3rcanidi0t look wot is it you want from me to say i am sry for what i said and for me to say i will never be moved to feel the same upset or anger to say such a thing well i wish i could but this type of thing will happen and people will make my view of people wot it is and as for sry well yes i am sorry, sorry for all that have died and thair loved ones of this manslaughter. i am also sry that i made a coment that has took emphasis away from the disaster
@chrgi This is a good point at last, every one now know the name of this wicked captain but none know the name of one victims...and to manu ppl are blaming a country for that.
@4m3rcanidi0t it wasnt just the captain to blame alot of the staff it was alleged to have jump ship as soon as the could and was left to the general staff to evacuate
I wonder why you didn't directly use them as slaves?? No, you needed to kill them and fill the empy spaces importing some millions of new slaves from Africa, maybe the red wasn't so good for cotton's field...black was better, also for mines, I agree with you. And then? A nice civil war, let's kill one more mln people to set them free...or almost free and let's build dedicates toilette for them, our ass can't share WC with a black one...
2 studies try to number the natives killed by the US.1st one sponsored by the US gov shows between 1mln to 4mln killed. The 2nd one done from independent researchers estimated populations and population reductions using later census data. 2 figures are given, both low and high, at: between 10mln and 114mln Indians as a direct result of US actions. Note that Nazi Holocaust estimates are from 6 to 11mln; thereby making the Nazi Holocaust 2nd largest mass murder of a class of people in history.
There is something really true in this thread, our Capitan always make disaster and every action, mission is a BIG FAIL with catastrophic consequences for the whole humanity !!!
....starting from 1492 with Cristoforo Colombo :D
Rome, the capital of Italy, was for centuries the political and religious centre of Western civilisation as the capital of the Roman Empire and site of the Holy See. After the decline of the Roman, centuries later, Italy became the birthplace of Maritime republics and the Renaissance, an immensely fruitful intellectual movement that would prove to be integral in shaping the subsequent course of European thought.
As Ship's Captain, Schettino was the one man who had complete power to conduct full searches of the ship through his subordinates and on-board communications and conduct a safe and calm evacuation. He was given the chance to prove himself in the ultimate test for a Captain and as a man. He failed both, miserably.
he is getting called a cowerd because he left the ship half of people would of done the same thing ive been out i saw guys get beat up people do nothing but stand the so wtf makes the guy different from the rest most people would of got off the ship.....
@bucketelite "lol now reply back to me in a language that isnt your own.... because italians are so tough"
Ah, che brutta alitosi... Dovresti pulirti dopo aver cacato... Come fai a lavarti il culo se non hai il bidet? Lo metti fuori dalla finestra e aspetti che cominci a piovere?
what a coward they should gadafi him, and look at this itailian fool trying to claim italian superiority, and on a page with the biggest coward of the decade, oh ya we mock you because we envy you, hahahahahahahaha....ha an italian could kick your ass with one arm haahahahahhaaa why cuz thier due, they didnt win a single battle without nazi help, and they were on the nazi's side so ya dont talk sh1t before i send my grandpa back over there to finish you off
@bucketelite you talking about that prick axenoir? All hes doing is trolling this page defending the Wop race....wish they'd use some Zyclon B on his sorry mouth lol.
@axenoir you really need to get a life and fuck off youtube. Do you constantly keep an eye on this one vid for new comments refreshing the page? What douche....If only your Mother had seriously considered using birth control....sigh. lol.
@axenoir You seem to know a lot about homosexual pursuits. I guess all this latent keyboard anger stems from a need to come out of your proverbial closet???? Lol....
@TheMasterNo6 Master No6!!!?? is it because you are no.6 and NOT no.1 that annoys you? I mean if i thought i was Sixth i'd be pissed too!YOU REALLY DO FEEL INFERIOR!
@axenoir hi excuse me for the rant meant for the testa di cazzo on this, it's in there blood like piss.I'm from Itallian extraction, my uncles' fought for the british, two in africa one with the RAF their father was enternaed in the Isle of Man, these guys know only what the british propaganda told them. like sheep they believe everything!
@215alessio He is, if you can judge a Nation by the mistake of a guy you are a dork. I wont judge every US citizens dork just because I met this one. He have used many racist impolite words....
@215alessio Why? What country do you come from? (Probably England). Are there no cowards there? If it is England, then you craftily hide when there is danger. I know, being a colonial. Italians were brave fighters in WW2. My dad and uncles said so. One of my uncles was killed in Cyrenacia (then part of Italy) by the Italians and Germans. That's war.
@SupBA sorry about your uncle. 3 of my uncles died on the way of return from greece,on theyr hospital ship heading to italy, torpedoed by a British war ship. One missing after he was sended (against his will)against mother Russia
Yeah British always had an ambigous way of warfare.
I ment many Italian citizens of nowday don't take action and are dorment.
If something happens to you on the street no one has seen anything.
@215alessio My dad and uncles were New Zealanders, not English. Your amily sound to have had an even worse deal than mine. Of course my father never blamed either the Italians or the Germans for killing his brother. Thats war! He met plenty of Germans and Italians in Cyrenaica and other places, and liked them. He even had a few jokes with the SS when he was a prisoner. Men are men anywhere. The USSR of course was something else. Many of the men were not euipped for the cold.
@SupBA even had a few jokes with the SS? and I alwayd tought they were strict and brutal.
The ship attacked by the british was a hospital ship on the way of return it had no guns. And it was well known that British didn't really folowed the rules of war.
therby: the South of Italy is always been patronized and kept poor by the north.
And above most (almost all) soldiers were south Italians because the governement in the North decided so
@215alessio SS was a Very brutal corps led by very brutal people, but made of men...I think it is impossible there wasn't a couple mentally sane. So I'm not surprised about that. Anyway SupBA your dad have been lucky I think. About Folgore, I think many Italian should serve there one year, it would be a better country
@4m3rcanidi0t He wasn't so lucky. He was badly wounded. His unit was attacked by 68 tanks in Cyrenaica. They were defeated. He got operated on on Dec 7 1941. My uncle fought at Cassino also. He said he overhead the English calling the New Zealanders cowards there. The thing is with the English that they give orders from well away from the fighting. They are never cowards, as they are never engaged in losing battles.
@SupBA ...well, I mean he can tell the story about SS, few people who have met them had then a chance to tell something to someone. When I was in the FOLGORE we peridically met some EL-ALAMAIN battle's veteran, Italian and English. Never heard, from them, words like these I have to hear today here from some user. It means something....
@4m3rcanidi0t From the NZ point of view (me dad was there): "About 5.30 p.m. damned Italian Motorised Division (Ariete) turned up. They passed with five tanks leading, twenty following, and a huge column of transport and guns, and rolled straight over our infantry on Point 175." They also routed the British 22nd Armoured Brigade and the 5th South African Brigade. My dad said they were the best force in Cyrenaica. They also overran the NZ Divisional HQ! My dad was in div sigs.
@SupBA The only relative survived to the WW2 I had couldn't tell me anything, he was a "fool-on-the-hill". He went insane during the Nazi Decimation, he was in line with other prisioners and he supposed to be shooted, they shooted the one next to him but.....
@4m3rcanidi0t Don't ever let these damn English or Americans rubbish the Italians. The Americans came in when it was all over and the English tended to sit back and let the Indians, Australians and South Africans do the hard stuff. They go on about D Day. They war was practically over then. The hard battles were fought in France, Cyrenaica and the Soviet Union. Battles like Midway in the Pacific were risky also. D-Day was a picnic in comparison - other than for the Germans.
@SupBA This couple of mentally disturbed may only rubbish themselves...or maybe neither..
He's you father still alive? Must be nice, in some way, to hear these, sad, story from the voice of someone who was there in the first line. I know war is stupid and, as a father, I hope for peace everywhere and forever. But there are something charming in war stories..
@4m3rcanidi0t Exactly. My father was always anti-war. He was badly wounded and lost the use of an eye. When he came back, a group of women gave him the feathers. Someone else explain what my dad had been though. They came back and recovered them. My dad said "why did you give them to me?". "Our brothers and friends are fighting", they said. My father replied "never give our young men the feathers. We need them here. Do not send them into war". My dad died in 1982.
@215alessio I do not agree at with you. I'm not blind so I can see and feel Italian problems but I'M NOT A COWARDS and none of my friends, co-workers and family are!!! (maybe a cousin..). We should learn from US how to take care of our image, every country got some shit but they try to wash theyr clothes at home. Many Italian people are today the first to blame theyr nation world wide when they got a chance to do it, and this chance do not need to be a real one.
@SupBA I'm not silly, just sorry to hear Alessio words, he's Italian too,...it's a long discussion. I know enough about Italian soldiers to be proud of them, I was in the Folgore (ask your Dad about, he probably know). I'm not as much proud about our leading class..that's true, but they aren't really rappresentative of our Country.
@215alessio ..well...I'm little out of the game but kinda souther, from Sardinia. Maybe we wont see the end of this time but it will end. The wheel is turning, and also US are in truble. I'm a pacifist, I'm waiting for the actual politic class to die doing my best meanwhile.
@215alessio it's 'stronzo' can't your speak your own shit language. he's a lying coward like all italian men. by the way, i've never tried seducing an italian girl. i have witnessed the dynamic between italian men and women. you're not dissimilar to arab men(your descendants)!
@VengeanceIsMineBitch rians or Areians (Old-Persian Haraiva): ancient tribe, living in western Afghanistan. Their name means 'noblemen'.
In historical times, the Arians lived in the country along the river Arios (the modern Hari Rûd), which is more or less identical to the Afghanian province of Herât. There were large deserts surrounding the fertile river valley.
@VengeanceIsMineBitch so tired to read "every italian men". But dude...if you are the one in pic of you youtube channel......well, consider yourself forgiven of every mistake.
Francesco Schettino is a f*****g coward! He could've at least stayed NEAR the ship. He ran away into the town while his brave crew stayed on board to coordinate the rescue.
@diamondmoney007 I agree, he shouldn't have been in the lifeboat with the 2nd and 3rd in command. That is simply amazing, especially whilst people were still trying to get off the ship. Maybe they didn't feel they could take command, I don't know, but someone needs to look at it, he should simply have been relived of duty and replaced instantly.
@zeppelin67637 Zeppelin, your comment is one key to understand how wrong can we be by judging a story we still don't know. Schettino made the bullshit 300 yards from the coast, a rock coast, then he made a very good thing keep on sailing toward the coast of the Giglio island. And this is also the reason of only 20 victims on 4000 (4000!!!) peoples of passengers and crew.
@brunospino71 oh sure, it's good he headed towards the coast, after he slammed into the rocks. Then him and his second in command, FELL into a lifeboat haha real hero
I actually knew a contemporary of the Captain's named Marco Nogara. We met in 1983 aboard Carnival Cruise Line's Mardi Gras when he was the First Mate.
When you become a captain of any ship you sign your on death, (it means you as a captain have to go down with the ship or be the last person to leave the ship in case of emergency) everybody is a priority(passengers+crew) , not for this guy he was the priority...
Captain Francesco Shettino TOP 5 EXCUSES. #5 Hey I'm Italian, I had to finish my Manicotti first. Get your priorties straight people. Food first, emergancy second. #4 I accidentally fell off the ship and into the life boat. #3 I am not a coward because my father served in the French Army during WW2. #2 I was watching Jersey Shore when the ship ran aground. And Captain Schettinos # 1 excuse is The captain of the Exxon Valdez Joseph Hazelwood trained me.
@TheMasterNo6 I'm afraid that your racist remarks only perpetuate the faults that are inherent in today's society. Chiding another for voicing his or hyr opinion only breeds resentment. We need socioeconomic equality, and pointing fingers only slows or even derails the process. Yes, this was a terrible accident. But who are you (or I) to place blame on an entire nationality, no matter how lazy the Italians are?
To be fair, if the ship tilts, how are you meant to stay on board? And many of you are quick to judge, I'd like to see how you all do in that situation.
I am not saying he is not a coward, but lets wait until the investigation has been conducted before we speculate on what happened. There is too much shit flying around the news about Schettino for it all to be true.
For all we know, he could have been trying to coordinate a rescue, when fell into a lifeboat that left, without his approval. The details are sketchy and SO IS THE TRUTH.
And on another note, Has there ever been a drill involving 4000+ passengers (and crew) to determine STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES in the event of a sinking, much less a capsize??
Do the proud farting American remember this "captain"? Richard J. Ashby. Search him in Wikipedia.
This US captain have killed 20 ppl playing Top Gun in our Country flying lower than he should to enjoy the sight of the valley. He didn't know any kind of detention, house or jail.
Turn on the brain, if you got one, before to judge any nation by a tragedy.
@Mortskcab I do not think is a matter of WW2, or next time a Ciccio-Bello-Face like the US Pilot of my post will kill 20 more peoples pretending to be Tom Cruise we should blame and injure every american citizen referring to the Native Americans and George Armstrong Custer....
@mrsirks good! feel inferior do we? if it wasn't for itallians you would still be walking with your knuckles touching the ground, or they probably still do!
@mrsirks Catholicism was brought in the USA also by the Irish; the Italian Mafia helped the US troops to land in Sicily; it's not because italians that the USA is almost as violent and crime ridden as Brazil and Mexico...
Last but not least, regarding contributes to the US: one of the main fathers of the US A-bomb was italian, the director of the US Apollo program was italian and also the main father of the microprocessor at Intel (which started the computer revolution) in the US was italian.
@mrsirks Well said. Just noticed you replied to my comment. Love how the Wops on here are pissed at the racist comments against their people and yet they're all for racism themselves - IL Duce? When it went tits up they kissed the USA'S arse. As for the Mafia, what a bunch of cunts....so deal with the hatred you Italian scumbags! lol.
@JulianGardna No, I'm just racist - at times. If its okay for Italians to be a xenophobic bunch, hate immigrants of a darker skin tone than themselves and were happy to kiss Il Duce's arse in WW2 then its more than okay for me to feel just as racist toward their people in general.
@TheMasterNo6 A different race ? . Are you native ? No, you're ignorant. Go to kindergarden and then study history (that stars before the XX century, you know ?)
My message to Francesco Schettino:
Come ci si sente che sono ammissibili per una pena di morte per omicidi di massa nel mio libro?
Translation: How does it feel that you are eligible for a death penalty for Mass Murder in my book?

2 studies try to number the natives killed by the US.1st one sponsored by the US gov shows between 1mln to 4mln killed. The 2nd one done from independent researchers estimated populations and population reductions using later census data. 2 figures are given, both low and high, at: between 10mln and 114mln Indians as a direct result of US actions. Note that Nazi Holocaust estimates are from 6 to 11mln; thereby making the Nazi Holocaust 2nd largest mass murder of a class of people in history.

@4m3rcanidi0t ehm italy is in deep shit. He has some right . Italians are cowards!
if italians have to testify they always say: we didn't see anything , we know nothing!µ
they can't take charge of situations
this culture allows bad things to happen.
Nepotism brought a childman like schettini at the wheel of a big cruise ship, it is a common thing in italy!
Even some italian vehicles leave the factory with mayour errors just because there are man on charge that shouldn't be there
215alessio 1 month ago
@215alessio Why? What country do you come from? (Probably England). Are there no cowards there? If it is England, then you craftily hide when there is danger. I know, being a colonial. Italians were brave fighters in WW2. My dad and uncles said so. One of my uncles was killed in Cyrenacia (then part of Italy) by the Italians and Germans. That's war.
SupBA 1 month ago
@SupBA sorry about your uncle. 3 of my uncles died on the way of return from greece,on theyr hospital ship heading to italy, torpedoed by a British war ship. One missing after he was sended (against his will)against mother Russia
Yeah British always had an ambigous way of warfare.

215alessio 1 month ago
@215alessio My dad and uncles were New Zealanders, not English. Your amily sound to have had an even worse deal than mine. Of course my father never blamed either the Italians or the Germans for killing his brother. Thats war! He met plenty of Germans and Italians in Cyrenaica and other places, and liked them. He even had a few jokes with the SS when he was a prisoner. Men are men anywhere. The USSR of course was something else. Many of the men were not euipped for the cold.
SupBA 1 month ago
@SupBA even had a few jokes with the SS? and I alwayd tought they were strict and brutal.
The ship attacked by the british was a hospital ship on the way of return it had no guns. And it was well known that British didn't really folowed the rules of war.
therby: the South of Italy is always been patronized and kept poor by the north.
And above most (almost all) soldiers were south Italians because the governement in the North decided so
215alessio 1 month ago
@215alessio SS was a Very brutal corps led by very brutal people, but made of men...I think it is impossible there wasn't a couple mentally sane. So I'm not surprised about that. Anyway SupBA your dad have been lucky I think. About Folgore, I think many Italian should serve there one year, it would be a better country
4m3rcanidi0t 1 month ago
@4m3rcanidi0t He wasn't so lucky. He was badly wounded. His unit was attacked by 68 tanks in Cyrenaica. They were defeated. He got operated on on Dec 7 1941. My uncle fought at Cassino also. He said he overhead the English calling the New Zealanders cowards there. The thing is with the English that they give orders from well away from the fighting. They are never cowards, as they are never engaged in losing battles.
SupBA 1 month ago
@SupBA ...well, I mean he can tell the story about SS, few people who have met them had then a chance to tell something to someone. When I was in the FOLGORE we peridically met some EL-ALAMAIN battle's veteran, Italian and English. Never heard, from them, words like these I have to hear today here from some user. It means something....
4m3rcanidi0t 1 month ago
@4m3rcanidi0t From the NZ point of view (me dad was there): "About 5.30 p.m. damned Italian Motorised Division (Ariete) turned up. They passed with five tanks leading, twenty following, and a huge column of transport and guns, and rolled straight over our infantry on Point 175." They also routed the British 22nd Armoured Brigade and the 5th South African Brigade. My dad said they were the best force in Cyrenaica. They also overran the NZ Divisional HQ! My dad was in div sigs.
SupBA 1 month ago
@SupBA The only relative survived to the WW2 I had couldn't tell me anything, he was a "fool-on-the-hill". He went insane during the Nazi Decimation, he was in line with other prisioners and he supposed to be shooted, they shooted the one next to him but.....
4m3rcanidi0t 1 month ago
@4m3rcanidi0t Don't ever let these damn English or Americans rubbish the Italians. The Americans came in when it was all over and the English tended to sit back and let the Indians, Australians and South Africans do the hard stuff. They go on about D Day. They war was practically over then. The hard battles were fought in France, Cyrenaica and the Soviet Union. Battles like Midway in the Pacific were risky also. D-Day was a picnic in comparison - other than for the Germans.
SupBA 1 month ago
@SupBA This couple of mentally disturbed may only rubbish themselves...or maybe neither..
He's you father still alive? Must be nice, in some way, to hear these, sad, story from the voice of someone who was there in the first line. I know war is stupid and, as a father, I hope for peace everywhere and forever. But there are something charming in war stories..
4m3rcanidi0t 1 month ago
@4m3rcanidi0t Exactly. My father was always anti-war. He was badly wounded and lost the use of an eye. When he came back, a group of women gave him the feathers. Someone else explain what my dad had been though. They came back and recovered them. My dad said "why did you give them to me?". "Our brothers and friends are fighting", they said. My father replied "never give our young men the feathers. We need them here. Do not send them into war". My dad died in 1982.

@4m3rcanidi0t Not all of them. But if you look around, certainly would recognise the situation.
The south is badly treated by the north of Italy.
North italian governement support the southern italian mob just to keep the south arm and poor.
reason:
South italian citizens are the drones to export to other countries in change of money goods or gold payed to the Italian governement.
so it conveins them to keep the south poor

I am not saying he is not a coward, but lets wait until the investigation has been conducted before we speculate on what happened. There is too much shit flying around the news about Schettino for it all to be true.
MrEreda 1 month ago
@MrEreda I agree. Finally a SANE OPINION.
2528997 1 month ago
@2528997 A LOT of things have to be INVESTIGATED here.
Like the "Fly-By-Wire" Navigation System. What caused that to fail or how it was overridden, IF IT WAS in the first place?
What happened next?
Why did the ship end up so far off course?
What caused that huge gash on the portside below the waterline?
At which point did it start to list toward starboard?
Where was the captain and his first mate during each of the above instances??
