They are hardly a corporate band, seeing as how they have never really achieved that much fame and were never really signed by anybody big. Their music is heartfelt, and this is just their interpretation of an awesome song. And the fact that the singer's voice is a little off key makes it that much better. Listen and love it! :)

I think it started out as a bit of a joke during soundchecks for The Get Up Kids and then they got a bit more serious about it and made a decent recording of it.. I was like "no way!!" when I found this cover a while back, I've been into TGUK for over a decade and they have been one of my favourite bands ever since I "discovered" them.. I don't think it's musically intelligent to compare this with the original. Which one is better or worse is just an opinion. I think what's worth noting is that very few people even touch covering The Cure and The Get Up Kids have done it fearlessly.

my favorite are the people who comment on how this band sounds like Blink lol. This band was around long before they were. And their original music is very well articulated with rudiment drumming, opposing those who were "pissed off" by the drums. I wish people understood music before they knocked it. Lyrically and Musically. When a band does a cover it's normally meant as a respect to the band who originated the song, so show some respect back please.

when you do a cover, it's better when it's not exactly like the original. bands that do covers need to own it and add their touch. those are always the best covers.

@Oldshirt If they had covered it and tried to sound like the original, it would completely lack feeling and meaning. They took it and made it their own, at least they didn't just play it the exact same way it was originally. And it's pretty catchy (but granted the original is an awesome song). Just because it's not done like the original doesn't mean it has no feeling. In fact, it's quite the opposite.

Dude, OBVIOUSLY no one could EVER compare to the Cure but you dont have to be so rude about it. music is ment to be fun, who cares if its good. and this is coming from a kid who went to an art school for music for the past four years. and its fun to do covers, you cant always be 100% original all the time. my favorite are the people who comment on how this band sounds like Blink lol. This band was around long before they were. And their original music is very well articulated with rudiment drumming, opposing those who were "pissed off" by the drums. I wish people understood music before they knocked it. Lyrically and Musically. When a band does a cover it's normally meant as a respect to the band who originated the song, so show some respect back please.
