"Poems of power" would be a very poor translation of Michaux's titlae. Several meanings are possible in fact: "Poetry for power", Poems for power", "Poetry to power", poems to power" but the most accurate for me would be "Poetry to be able"
This is, of course, not Boulez's best or most representative work. But I thought the circumstances of its creation were interesting enough to merit posting it. Thanks for your comment! I see you have posted his 12 Notations - I'll go listen to it...
I've long wondered about Boulez's Ainsi parla Zarathoustra. I don't suppose it was ever recorded, or was it?

I believe the hammer is used in Berg's Three Orchestral Pieces which Boulez has conducted. Of course, it has another significance too.
