Actually Congress has not filed a Declaration of War since WW2. Nothing since WW2 has been tecnically a "war" although I think that the military members would beg to differ. Eight years in Iraq and Afghan is a long time. Congress needs to remember it's duty just as all the military honorably do theirs to the best of their ability. Do a formal Declaration of War, fully support the military, get the job done and over with, or bring them home.

Even though it sounds fucked up its not that crazy; I hate conspiracy theories but considering I know people who heard how excited the CIA was months after 9/11 happened and said "we're going into Iraq" its the big picture of how Bush wanted to change the middle east. If bin Laden goes down so does the war on terrorism. Still, that doesn't mean America would have been able to kill bin laden when they had the chance anyways so it will just be an anomaly of historical interest.

I would not rule out a pre-emptive strike, however, I for one would like to be sure it's not another "aspirin factory". If we had absolute proof they are really working on weapons, not just suspect it, then I say hit them, and hit them hard. We really wouldn't have much choice.
