  • The Republicans are like the "Facebookers", the less attention they get the crazier and more status updates they post.

    GO ALAN GO!

  • Grayson is a real gem. He dares to speak the truth. The US spends more and doesn't get as good of results. Getting everyone insured is one step towards improving matters. Staying at 37th on health care really isn't an option. The high health care costs is putting American small businesses at a major disadvantage against foreign companies.

  • Hello Alan:

First, clear thinking people know who you are, a funny Marxist who is interested in control and suppression. As all Marxist.

Health Care Bill: Informed people know this has nothing to do with health care. Only control and abuse.

Cap and Trade: The primary objective is suppression and control.

I do not have to space here to expose each of your entertaining positions and statements. As most Marxist, they can not stand the light of truth and facts. You resort to hiding.

  • To bad Obama isn't doing his part in this. Americans needs to be very grateful indeed for you Grayson. You're doing the job of the president, now he's a no show.

    I hope you'll succeed.

  • spend spend spend! who cares about the dollar, just give out government subsidies to the poor, overweight Americans! they deserve it!

  • yeah, with the job the government's doing with social security and medicare, the postal service, they should take charge of healthcare too. maybe after he gets his plan passed, grayson can get his brain transplant

  • The only problem with USPS, SSA and Medicare is the meddling by politicians, especially on the right, who continue to undermine them.

  • Grayson - "...This bill will help them to afford it." What he doesn't say is this bill will REQUIRE them to afford it. So if you're struggling to make car payments, buy food, pay utilities - make room for health insurance because that's what Washington is going to force feed you! And most of you will have to hand this money to private insurance companies! Enjoy your East India Tea.

  • That is the most ridiculous suit I have ever seen.

  • Subsidies for poor families = carte blanche for insurance companies to jack up premiums, since the government is footing the bill.

    I'm growing cold on Grayson.

  • Its not about health care its about the federal government taking over 20% of the private sector. Its about destroying capitalism. People are not dying in this country because they have no health care. They are dying because they won't go to a doctor. They turn no one down at hospitals. Grayson is full of shit he doesn't know whats in the bill. This is an America destroying health care destroying bill and thats it.

  • just shoot yourself you incurable moron

  • Everything I said is true. Once they have your health care they have you. They know everything you do. They know if you drink smoke or do drugs. You want some bureaucrat in Washington knowing your personal shit? Don't be a fool. This is not about your health its about the power of the government. This will not be free if your healthy you are going to pay out the ass for this or be fined. You trust momma moon bat Nancy Pilosi to white a health care bill? If you do you are a brain dead idiot.

  • "This will not be free if your healthy you are going to pay out the ass for this or be fined."

Right, the public option (if that's what a person chooses) is not free. Even though it may be subsidized premiums are still due from the insured.

It already costs out the ass for insurance. I've never had any hospitalization or serious medical condition yet my premiums have doubled in the last three years.

  • Wait till you pay the government for your health care you will beg for your former policy.you will pay out the ass and wait in line. So stay healthy.

  • Destroying whats already destroyed? People don't go to the hospital for preventative care because they can't afford it. Meaning they DIE because they have no health care. I assume your a Republican, you should understand that you don't spend money you don't have.

  • You are a LIAR! They may not go to the hospital out of pure ignorance. No one gets turned down in an emergency room. NO ONE! If you can't afford top pay there is assistance. The hospital will also work with you on payment. People will pay to get their car fixed or their home. They pay their cell phone payments why not hospital bill? You know why? They don't want to. Once they get taken care of there is nothing the hospital can do to get paid. The hospital can't take their health back.

  • You an IDIOT mics50. Is it ignorant to NOT rack up a bill for thousands of dollars for something that MIGHT not be a big deal? Only to find out later it is? There is assistance? HA! Not for everyone. My cell phone bill is $100 and I use it every month. If I used the hospital every month my monthly bill would be thousands of dollars. Your a fucking idiot.

  • Have you ever tried to get assistance? Have you ever been in the hospital for a necessary treatment and not been able to pay? If you haven't then shut the fuck up you FOOL!

  • Yea I'm a fool... I tried getting "assistance" but HCAP is limit is low, and as of anything minor the bill minimum is $300-400... anything major would be in the thousands... Don't call me a fool you fucking moron, why don't you get a fucking brain in your dumb ass Republican head and stop watching Fox news once in a while. You fuck.

  • Don't call me a moron you brain dead idiot. Get your head out of msnbc boob tube and find out what is going on in the world you FUCKING FOOL>

  • "No one gets turned down in an emergency room. NO ONE! I"

One of the reasons that health care costs are spiraling out of control is that the uninsured go to the ER for issues that can be dealt with in a clinic such as the cold or flu. Do you really think it's a good idea to rack up a $1000 bill when it would be a tenth or less than that if the patient were seen in a clinic?

You're either stupid or you're ignorant. I'm not sure which.

  • Then why not open more free clinics and force them to go there instead?

  • More free clinics is an interesting idea. I've not seen that proposal or projected cost for such a proposal but consider this: Which would be less expensive, funding clinics where everything is paid by public funds, or subsidize insurance (if necessary) for those who can't afford it otherwise and have a clinic supported by insurance proceeds from private insurers and the public option (as well as Medicare, etc.)? Food for thought.

  • The real question is why must we destroy the whole system to cover a mere 3 or 4 million people? This is really about taking over the whole healthcare industry, not just insurance.

  • Go get sick and die then you fucking JOKE!

  • You are the one that is ignorant. Have you read the bill? The cost of this monstrosity will be enormous and inefficient. If you are dying you will pay anything to stay above ground but if this bill passes you won't make that decision some bureaucrat in Washington will. Like I said open your pocket book if this thing passes. its not about your health its a government take over of the private sector by people that want to control everything about your life. WAKE UP FOOL!

  • They are not in the emergency room now so who pays? You think you know everything. Tell me who pays? What diff. does it make if you are in the hospital with bullet in your ass or cancer. Those black people have no money and no insurance now who pays FOOL?

  • "Once they get taken care of there is nothing the hospital can do to get paid."

They can do all sorts of things like filing suit to force you to pay the bill. Then, when the courts tell you to pay a bill that you can't, the only option is bankruptcy. About 60% of bankruptcies in the U.S. are the result of unpaid medical bills. Many of those are from people who have insurance, but the insurance co's hang them out to dry.

  • It doesn't matter what political party I belong to. You honestly believe that the bunch running this country can get this health care right? If you do you are living in a dream world. We have the best health care in the world and fools like you are about to destroy it.

  • We have the best health care in the world? HAHA, wow, you believe anything Fox tells you? You need to look at facts, we have mediocre health care compared to the world, and what we have is MUCHHHHHHHHHH more expensive then what other countries are paying for. We pay MORE for LESS. Where the hell do you get your facts from? Best healthcare in the world, wow... just wow.

  • we have great doctors and medical facilities but we waste billions every year by paying for our healthcare in a stupid way

  • Perfectly stated ,lisabob.

  • righto lisabob22, add to that the tens of millions without coverage. The ins. industry is spending >$1 million/day since May fighting this reform bill. That figures to be in the neighborhood of 1/4 billion dollars of OUR money (premium payers) that the industry is spending against our interests. That would pay for a LOT of health care.

  • Who leaves America for health care you idiot? You just think the government is going to give you something for free. You better think again. Obama and Pilosi lie when their lips move. Name one couintry that has better health care than the US you fucking left wing loon? You can't

  • HEALTHIEST COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD... 10.Netherlands 9.Austria 8.Canada 7.Denmark 6.Australia 5.Swizterland 4.Germany 3.Finland 2.Swedan 1.Iceland uT O...USA isn't number one! Better stop watching Fox news!
  • They are healthier they do not have better health care you fucking idiot. Americans are fat lazy and overweight. This is a known fact but America has the best health care in the world.GET YOU HEAD OUT OF YOU ASS FOOL!

  • Our rating for healthcare in the world is NUMBER 37!... NOT number one people...

  • America is #1 you FOOL!

  • Micsc50, In your little world does 37 mean 1st? It's time to open your eyes and see facts. We are NOT number one regardless of what Fox spouts constantly in debate and your idea of our current healthcare system is WRONG. You don't know what your talking about. I'm in a situation to speak from experience, you clearly are not. And if you are, you need to open your eyes to reality. (regardless)

  • The study is flawed. No one really believe we are 37 and behind Costa Rica. We send medical missionaries to Costa Rica.

  • The study does leave much to be desired. Some quotes for a CBS story:

"the WHO report basically measures bang for the buck: comparing a population's health with how effectively governments spend their money on health, how well the public health system prevents illness instead of just treating it and how fairly the poor, minorities and other special populations are treated."

    -cont'd-

  • "While good at expensive, heroic care, Americans are very poor at the low-cost preventive care that keeps Europeans healthy, said Princeton University health economist Uwe Reinhardt."

"Take prenatal care, vital to a healthy start in life. Reinhardt called France the world's role model, while many poor Americans never get prenatal care."

  • America has the best health care in the word you FOOL. Get sick and go Cyprus you FOOL you will die.

  • Only if you are either Bill Gates or Warren Buffet. For everyone else in the country, you are one or two illnesses away from bankruptcy. There's not a single first-world country that allows their citizens to die of preventable diseases because of lack of insurance coverage.

  • Isn't it lovely to live in such an indefensible "christian nation"?

Republicans are terrorist enemies of the United States and to do anything less than destroying the republican party is unpatriotic. If we can drag the war criminals of bush/cheney inc. and rove inc. into court, I have "faith" the tool followers will unravel like a blanket made by wal-,mart. Plus, think how fun it will be to watch!!!

  • Yep, there are very few areas of thought where they deviate from the Taliban.

  • It is not the health care itself, but the access to it that is flawed. We need health INSURANCE reform.

  • You are 100% correct. The reform the government is offering is a joke. All it is is a big government take over of your privacy and a huge destroyer of private idustry. If the democRATs get your H-care they have you BY THE NUTS. TORT reform would help a lot but the trial lawyers and the democRATs are sleeping with each other. Also more competition. Being able to buy insurance from companies out of your state. These two things alone would drastically drop the cost of insurance for everyone.

  • Do not get me wrong, although I and for medical malpractice reform, I am COMPLETELY in favor of health insurance reform.

Maybe the federal government can provide malpractice insurance, eh?

  • if you are for the federal government taking over the health care industry and health insurance of any type like this president and his cronies are proposing you have lost your mind. They will destroy health care in America.

  • I am still in posession of my mind, and it seems to be intact, but thank you for your concern, micsc50.

If you think that we should continue as is, then I wonder if you have a heart and any concern for those without coverage. Or perhaps you work in the private health insurance sector and are fearful for your job. That would explain your attitude.

  • micsc650, if it wasn't for the mere facts, you would be right about everything.

  • Comment removed

  • I know two different people who went to the hospital and were turned down. It happens, and it needs to change.

Even so, a person should not HAVE to go the hospital to get treatment for that which could have been prevented with doctor's visits. You also cannot go to the hospital to get medications.

There are so many situations that you are not covering, and that you cannot cover. Change needs to come, and Grayson is fighting the good fight.

  • miscs50: your criticism is behind the curve. The fed. gov. already spends nearly one-half of all dollars spent on health care in the U.S. annually.

The rest of your post is pure ignorance as well. People die because they can't afford life-saving surgery, medication, etc. It's true that no one can be turned away from an ER but they don't typically do cancer surgery or cardiac bypass surgery in the ER.

    Moron.

  • Thanks to president Reagan Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act, hospital emergency rooms must provide service to all patients regardless of ability to pay. People in this country that have NO insurance at all are being operated on everyday. You are a brain dead idiot spewing democRAT talking points to the ignorant. Go blow smoke up your mommas ass you FOOL!

  • micsc50, I love it when you wingnut morons raise an issue that serves only the further expose your ignorance. The only treatment the uninsured receive in the ER is for emergent conditions. If there is no medical emergency the hospital is under no obligation to treat the patient. When was the last time you saw someone administer cancer treatments in the ER, or a general wellness exam, or a prenatal exam, etc.?

    So who's the fool now?

  • You are the ignorant one and not only that a fool. People that can't pay get treatment for cancer heart disease and other life threatening illness. Its the LAW the hospitals have to treat sick people you brain dead bitch. GET IT THROUGH YOU THICK SKULL> There is also government assistance like medicare and medicaid you FOOL! NOW GO FUCK YOURSELF!

  • micsc50: Go piss up a rope you troll. What I stated are facts. Again, the law only requires them to treat emergency cases. I suggest you do some actual research on the law that you brought up. You can make shit up as you go along but it doesn't make you any less wrong.

Medicare is restricted to >65 age, and many people who can't afford insurance don't qualify for medicaid.

Again, I love it when you wingnut morons raise an issue that serves only the further expose your ignorance.

  • These illegals that come to America are getting health care and operations daily. Just go to your local hospital you FOOL. You think they are they for there looks?Go ask your hospital if they turn anyone away? THEY DON"T ! They overcharge people with insurance to offset the cost. I am tired of arguing with a fool. . This is America not Cuba. A drive by shooting injured 3 in our town the other day they are in the hospital in critical condition. Who pays for that you FOOL? YOU ARE WRONG MORON!

  • micsc50, just how fucking stupid are you? The 3 injured in the drive by shooting had to be treated because it was an EMERGENCY. Are you a native English speaker? Go look up what emergency means because it's obvious you don't so just shut up until you have something meaningful to say.

Simply being awake must overload the pitiful bit of gray mash between your eyes.

Until you can demonstrate you understand the difference between an emergency and non-emergency I won't answer anymore.

  • No, they show up in the ER with colds and flu, take up time and resources and receive treatment in the absolutely the most wasteful and expensive way possible. And if they don't feel like getting out of bed, they call an ambulance. These are people without regular health care, no doctor to call, doing what they have to. When people say our health care system is broken, it is this sort of thing they are talking about.

  • Great post midnightroamer.

  • Grayson / Pelosi 2016

  • Wow. Pelosi?! Really?!

  • I wish. Pelosi is 71 though. How about speaker of the House until she retires? =]

  • Pelosi until she retires is fines with me.

You're right, 2016 might put over over the age limit that most are able to support.

  • Politicians in Washington have been taking our social security tax and spending it immediately. Those of us under 45 will never see a dollar of SS; despite the "promise" from the feds.

Now they want to tax us for health care with the promise that when we get sick later; they will provide for us?

No thanks. Your track record speaks for itself. I'll fund my own retirement and provide for my own healthcare; please leave me alone.

  • The bill will not save money. It will not save lives. This man is totally disingenuous. If he really believe the 44,000 people were dying every year because of a lack of health insurance, why hold off for THREE years? Do it all and do it now!

  • The changes would start to take effect in 2011 which is the first year that the changes can realistically be budgeted in. The program would be phased in over the course of three years.

  • Then they don't believe that 44,000 people are dying every year.

  • commonjoe. Why don't you try reading the bill instead of simply parroting insurance company/GOP talking points?

Individuals and employees of the smallest companies will all be covered in the first year, including the 46,000.

  • By what? This new government option?

  • Yes, by the new government option. Only individuals and employees of the smallest companies will be eligible to participate in the public option in the first year of the program. Employees of the larger companies will be phased in over the following two years so that everyone will be in the health insurance exchange by the end of the third year.

Seriously, you should read the bill.

  • Of course we're dealing with theoreticals because the legislation has not passed. I don't know when you will be eligible. Do you provide your own insurance or do you get it through your employer?

  • I have provided my own health insurance for decades. In fact, I am in favor of a public option as long as it is not government funded.

  • I've provided my own health insurance for about 20 years. As it is now, neither you nor I have any protection against recission or being denied coverage due to pre-existing conditions. This doesn't even take into account skyrocketing premiums. As I understand it, the public option is not "free". The policyholders will be required to pay premiums just as we do to private insurers.

  • I have never experience any of those problems with my health insurance. Yes, I have had exclusions for pre-existing conditions but I knew that when I bought the insurance.

IF the public option is competitive, I would glad sign up for it. My concern is that it will not be. It will be lots of benefits I don't need for lots of money I don't have.

  • I've never had those problems either, but I could be diagnosed with cancer tomorrow and 2 months from now the insurance company can drop me like a bad habit. It's called recission and insurance companies use it to cut their losses.

Under the proposed reform, all policies, private insurance and the public option, will all be subject to the same guidelines. It's called the Health Insurance Exchange and is designed to ensure equitable coverage between policies.

  • I know what rescission is and I am sure it has happen, I doubt that it was wide spread though. I think most insurance companies pay their claims according the policies paid for. However if an individual has lied on their application in order to get coverage for a pre-existing condition, then the company is justified in denying them coverage.

  • If someone knowingly lied, then yes. The problem is that most states allow rescission even if people made an honest mistake and allows the ins. co. to deny claims that are completely unrelated to the health issue involved in the "dishonesty". For example, I could forget to mention I had a back injury 15 years ago and have my ins. co. deny coverage for cancer treatment because I "lied" on my application. It's rather draconian.

  • I don't know that it is happening that often with people. Usually such things are related to their claims.

  • Alan Grayson is an idiot.

  • That white tie/white collar/black shirt combo is fabulous.

All he needs is some Brylcreem slicking his hair and some platform shoes, baby!!

    Grayson is awesome.

  • Haha! hilarious

  • Grayson is a great promoter of the middle man, insurance. Yay for the middle man who does nothing but sit in the middle and take money from doctors and patients. That's what we need Grayson, more insurance.

  • fake...lol, Grayson supports Medicare for everyone as the best choice. He understands that sometimes you have to be pragmartic with the nonsense out there to incrementally achieve results. I personally don't like either Bill right now, they don't have a robust public option, tied to medicare rates and full coverage, and choice for everyone - the only way under the present system of insurance to lower costs across the board. So I see where your coming from. Medicare for all is best.

  • Do you think he should oppose the bill and kill more Americans because it doesn't create a single payer system? That's like starving to death because the food doesn't taste good enough.

  • Alan Grayson is a new world order lacky and his role includes, but is not limited to, the following.

He's selling you health insurance. Notice he never says "health care" he says "health insurance" If we were really going to be socialists there would be no need for insurance because government would be the insurance. Welcome to more of the same you stupid American public. Your assholes are already gaping but the new bigger shaft is gonna tear you up... and you'll probably like it...

  • He has to say that to avoid the right wing from crying "socialized medicine" too easily, you crazy tinfoil hatter.

  • Insurance? I don't want insurance. I want health care. Fuck insurance.... Assholes.

  • Hopefully the government won't take over healthcare completely. If they do, they could force you to take toxic vaccines and toxic medicines that people like myself will not take.

  • Regarding vaccines: Smallpox. Nuff said?

Regarding medicine: Almost any drug has side-effects. It's up to you and your doctor to do the cost-benefit analysis of using a drug in whatever situation.

Chemotherapy may make your lose your hair and make you feel aweful when it's going on, but might ultimately safe your life.

You have to weigh vanity, pain, and a general sick feeling against death. Most people takes would take a life filled with problems over death.

  • Grayson for president.

  • Even though this bill is move in the right direction it needs to be the start of this movement, not the end. There's much that could have been in this bill if it weren't for silence and corporate supplication on the part of many Dems and the White House. One major issue is not using the government's bargaining power to further lower cost. As important as this is there can be no sacred cows especially the insurance industry and those that profit off of it's predatory practices (cont.)

  • The argument that has the most logic is comparing our for profit health care system to the lack of for profit fire and police departments. You've said that you can make the bill better once it goes through and that needs to be the immediate next step. Again, there can be no sacred cows. Libeberman needs to have his chairmanship pulled and Baucus's reconsidered. If these and other changes don't happen in the party it gives weight that both parties are nothing more than corporate apologist.

  • I'd just like to make the point that fire and police departments are run by state governments, as well as traffic lights and roads.

  • With federal funds as a safeguard.

  • i seen alan a few days ago on the neil cavuto show..as soon as alan starting talking...it went to a commercial...fuck fox news...they finally get someone on that show worth a damn, and they dont let him get his word out

  • Republicans don't have to do anything, the democrats are screwing us for them.

  • Did you not listen to the man? Immediate after this gets signed a subsidy will be put into effect to help people up to 88,000/year/family income to buy insurance. It stops the pre-existing condition crap that the insurance companies have been pulling and stops the cap on care....among other things. it is a beginning not an end.

  • so what happens if we are forced to cut subsidies out of the budget? then people are forced to buy healthcare and they have no assistance. the bill takes too long to go into effect and no one will see the results before obama is up for re-election. what if he loses and they overturn the legislation? I have heard the health insurance companies wrote this bill and it really doesn't end pre-existing conditions... the company will pay a fine way less than what they would have paid for the patient

  • Sorry, Senator Grayson, you're wrong on this one. The health care reform bill is mortally wounded. The insurance corporations have eviscerated it. The corpse is pretty but there are no guts in it. DOA. As Monty Python would say, "What we have here is a dead parrot." - npjOSLCR2hE

  • They're not dying because the government doesnt provide healthcare. Charities should be allowed to provide healthcare again and insurance companies should be allowed to get subscribers from other states.

  • yes people are dying because the government is not providing healthcare as it should in the most wealthy country in the world ....

  • tubehax, How can we be the "most wealthy country in the world" yet have our representatives drafting legislation to raise the debt ceiling yet higher, to around $13 trillion?

If your neighbor were $13 million in debt, would you call him "wealthy"?

  • wealth is measured in many ways but for my purposes ill tell you the amount of income you have is very relevant to it.

having said that you are falling for the old fox news crap. the bill in congress isnt creating almost 1 trillion in spending over the next 8 years or so, this is money was going to be spent anyways in healthcare. so is a matter of how we do and as it stands we are cutting down on that initial budget and covering more people,

you find the flaw in that.

  • tubehax, I didn't mention Fox at all in my comment. I asked a question related to the debt. We have to increase the deficit whenever we buy anything. President Obama admitted in an interview that, "We're out of money now."

You said we're the "most wealthy country in the world." I explained why we aren't, and it has nothing to do with Fox News. The only show I watch on there is Red Eye, with Greg Gutfeld.

Do you assume that anyone who asks about the debt, watches Fox News?

  • I never said you did but that is one of the many misleading facts Fox News is responsible for. I will also agree that the most wealthy country statement is not factual by any means but we are at least wealthy enough to afford some healthcare for the less fortunate.

  • tubehax, You said, "having said that you are falling for the old fox news crap". I figured that meant I watched their shows.

I'm sure we could pay for it, though there are some legitimate concerns, like the economics of third party payments, and the legality, and the encroachment on civil liberties.

  • shame Democrats sold out

shame the American people don't care enough

    least this guy tried

  • Who wants a better Health Care Option?

Who wants a Free Universal Health Care for the future?

    I do.

  • This man speaks with forked tongue. Just like obama.

  • Forked tongue? Like a devil?

NewBlueSon, like most bigoted conservatives, you find it easier to say people "ARE" something hateful rather than simply disagree with their ideas. It is shameful and disgusting and intellectually dishonest that you "debate" this way. Stereotyping, racism, and bigotry are not valid arguing points, because people and their ideas are various and cannot be reduced to one quality, and you are a simpleton if you think they can.

  • i never was racist. Could you regurgitate some more propaganda please? These people arent working for the american people. Make the connection.

  • HE'S THE ANTI CHRIST

    AHHHHHHHH

  • alright, government subsidies! let's keep knocking down the dollar!

  • dollars taking its dying breath haha.

  • I am with most progressives in saying that this bill doesn't go far enough. The truth is that we should have a system where everyone, regardless of income, has equal access to quality healthcare. However, I don't agree with many diehards that believe that we shouldn't support this bill because it doesn't reach this ideal. This bill, if it is passed, can be amended later to achieve the goal of universal healthcare, without being hindered by made up controversies conjured by the right wing.

  • Let's take whatever victories we can. Republicans use the support of single-issue, anti-abortion voters as a mandate to serve insurance companies, subsidize corporate banks, and instigate wars. When they had the presidency and a majority in Congress, they made no effort to pass legislation that could raise the issue in the Supreme Court. Republicans use the abortion to manipulate conservatives. So if Democrats are prioritizing saving people over torturing them, let's show some gratitude

  • ACNJ (another Christian Nut-job).

  • You do know NO ONE will ever ban abortion right?

Republicans apparently love abortion also. So quit using that as your scapegoat.

  • MEDICARE FOR EVERYONE. Congress included. There, problem solved. We all already pay into it, so why not? And congress MUST have the same exact coverage that we do or we'll never have the healthcare that we deserve.

    This bill is BS.

Go listen to what Kucinich said on the House floor...

  • Dear Congressmen Grayson... you are a BAMF. I hope you serve for a very very long time. I respect and admire you.

  • I concur

  • P. S I want to bleep you.

  • what about the Fed.

    Can we multi task.

Most citizens have to, to survive.

Can we audit the fed and get health care for the citizens?

I know that if I was running the country I would want healthy citizens to work on my roads and lands and saving oceans and caring for cows and pigs. Better trained and better equipped to spot a 'virus' and expose the man made ones too. Alan please pick the peoples side!!! Obama seems to lie about everything, but that's just me. They want us dead.

  • Yes

  • i think that public healthcare is such a short-term view that doesnt take into consideration the longer term negative consequences that it will directly cause, but like any other government programme, can be blamed on something else

  • Go Grayson! Make those Republicans pay for my health insurance! I can't wait to get my subsidies.

  • This will be an important first step, but I don't like how watered down they have made this reform to try to please the republican minority that will still all vote no anyways.

  • Unimpressed if/that Ed isn't on board with public option.

  • Al.......does all this attention to health care mean that you have stopped trying to audit the Fed.......maybe if the Fed, GS, and other Banksters along with mega corps. buying up America for pennies were properly regulated and sent to jail when needed we Americans could afford our own health care.........if people have jobs they can get health care....if most end up working for the gov who will there be to pay the bills...concentrate on job creation....

  • we can you do for me as democrats...get more graysons, people with backbones and stop backing down.

right now, democrats failed me. a watered down bill is NOT better than nothing and I would rather go to prison than be FORCED to buy from a private corporation.

    Public option or nothing.

As for the IDIOTS here complaining about 1990 pages...it NEEDS to be big, the more thats in it the fewer loopholes there will be and the more that can be done with it.

  • why 1990 pages??? grayson, did you read all of the 1990 pages? do subsidies need 1990 pages?

  • No, but all the other things in the bill that make it so nothing actually changes DO need 1,990 pages. Also, there's a lot of numbers that need to be crunched, and they're all present in the bill as well.

  • Single Payer would be a lot better but Grayson is right about getting something done now.

  • how far should this healthcare bill go? another 1990 pages and who knows how many trillions of dollars?

  • All I know is if Rep. Grayson is for it so am I.

  • the republicans all say no and yet had no plan to offer which in fact speaks quite plainly that they don't care about americans. remember when obama put forth his budget? the repubs did as well and all thier budget was was cutting taxes for the wealthy. republicans are a party of no and we must all say no to them at election time....

  • Grayson is 100% right... This is a great first step. People need to remember that the bill can always be amended. All the concessions that were made to the bluedogs such as mandates and all that, can be changed later. But its SO important that we put this reform in place.

  • Nicely stated, Boobalophop. I agree completely.

  • I can't stand Ed Schultz... I don't think he's very smart, and I can't stand yelling, unless its from Chris Matthews, because he at least seems to know what he's talking about. Ed just seems to just rant and rave all the time. He managed to get Ralph Nader and Barney Frank debating on his show and somehow that was boring...I hope Cenk from TYT gets his own show and it replaces the Ed show

  • Ed Schultz is a throwback...a kind of tough liberal union guy type. God bless him, his heart is as big as his head. Forgive him, he means well.

  • I can dig it.

  • I knew you would.

  • Alan Grayson / Nancy Pelosi 2016

    or

  • thank you sir

  • is he wearing an sweater inside? DC is getting cold.

  • Grayson for 2016 . make it so.

  • They way things are, then Grayson 4 2012!!!

  • I 1005 AGREE!
