i think that mando diao takes kindof different styles from different eras and makes wonders with them.. and they definitely were influenced by the beatles. (i mean, in like some of their other songs... b/c this is.. well. obvious).

and i thinkkkk (at least from what i've heard).. they don't go far enough to make it they're own style sometimes.

though they do amazing acoustics... (never seen the light of day - don't know how that song isn't crazy popular)

I think that that is the main thing to do when you make a cover! If you play exactly as, for example, The Beatles on this then it's just the singin' that is different. And that's maybe a bit boring. But that's just my oppinion. :)

you know, cover it's not about singing the song, it's about looking up to it and trying to make it your own. beatles could think that their version is better, but definately they would enjoy that someone like the song enough to recreate it. it's not a competition, it's diversifying.
